  • c'mon this is called "my cock before 10 cum insides my GF", George Kollias do this with two pedals

  • He looks like he's struggling with the non quad pedal stuff, like the straight sixteenths with the double pedal looks a bit fast for him

  • Guido? ahaahaha Guido Wuss

  • Clearly, some people here are stupid as hell. When did music become a competition? If this isn't allowed, why are regular double pedals? Or wait, is using them cheating as well? Maybe the rule should be only one kick pedal/player. Or maybe none? And triggers are also cheating because they give you volume? Okay, then we'd better not use microphones, I've heard that they give you volume as well...

  • like a bossssssssss..... people here and everywhere are jelly

  • he has an awesome technique, but i must say that his triggers are the worst i heard lately

  • wow... omg That double bass is insanely fast...

  • hello, what is the name of this pédals ?

  • I probably wouldn't have minded the triggers so much if he'd have used a slightly less clicky sample.

  • Looks like Newton Faulkner

  • In my opinion, this really isn't right. I could be wrong, I don't know everything about these pedals, but I see two extra beaters and that doesn't seem right to me. It's not cheating, per se, it's more of a shortcut IMO. I'm not hating on this guy/his pedals, I'm just saying that I wouldn't use them.

  • sick huge hats.

  • Rasta hair and Cowboy boots (who drums w/ cowboy boots on)? you confuse me. Nice double bass work.

  • @Shi7Disc0 Surely you've heard of Gene Hoglan ?

  • @Mhorgrimify YeahI love SYL dude, never knew he wore boots tho. Looks like hes a doc martin fan.

  • @Shi7Disc0 My drum teacher (Rudy Lenners who played with scorpions in their early records) also plays with such shoes, he told me he cant play well with other shoes !

  • @DontNeedNames yeah, I bet having the heal helps when your using those pedals.

  • Actually these pedals are extremely hard to get used to or play in general.

  • music effortlessly no talent or respect for the training and dedication

  • @dajinmonlio You do realize that this guy is a multi-graduate of several different schools in many different playing styles, right? He's versed in jazz as well as classical drumming and his technique is phenomenal. Just because he chooses to play tech-death does not make him unfeeling.

  • I certainly do admire this guy, who obviously is a pioneer and has to put up with the jealous & narrow-minded. But still, from a personal point of view, this proves something to me: there is such a thing as too fast.

  • Drummers from bands like Origin already use heel-toe method. Guido just has a pedal that better facilitates heel-toe method.

  • Do you think people didn't say the double pedal was cheating when it first arrived? Of course they did. Why does would you expect EVERYONE to stick to the same in-the-box ideas forever? This is fruit of human ingenuity. This is an example of using your mind to find a way around a problem. This is ENGINEERING. These pedals take an advanced and difficult technique to play, and are a much better alternative than using electronics to compensate for a bad design that doesn't allow for speed AND power

  • @ItalianAvalanche The same reason why Experimental is frowned upon these days =/ people just don't want shit to change.... I actually think that Quad Bass bands would be REALLY sick =] but it sounds as if it might not happen, hope it happens sometime soon though. `Cause these pedals seem to be getting more & more popular.

  • @Stickgoncraz well I'm on board! I don't really approve of quads AND triggers. They're awesome for acoustic drums though.

  • @ItalianAvalanche Agreed.

  • @Stickgoncraz Hes still the only fairly well known drummer Ive seen to use them, experimentation is absolutely fine, when you start using equipment like that is where there is a problem. Thats why even pro drummers who use heel toe exclusively for thier bass rolls do not use these. This guy does some crazy stuff with them, hes also been using them for awhile now. As far as the feet go this is one of the few things I can say is purely speed for speeds sake.

  • george kollias and hellhammer can do this with real double bass...

  • Does no one else see that the the videos clearly speed up? Watch at 1:39. I'm not saying what he's doing is imposable, but why speed it up? It's already impressive...

  • @BolsaDePiojo The video has not been sped up. That technique is called the gravity blast and it's quite simple.

  • THAT'S CRAAAAZZZYYYY FAST!!! LOL metal has gotten so ridiculous.... before we know it, its just going to be suuuuuuuuuper fast gravity + suuuper slow breakdowns + suuuuuuuuuuuper low screams. shit is just getting weird now.

  • 1:38 sounds like when my sound card dies

  • Think of it this way: The reason the double pedal exists is because there is a limited speed with the single pedal. So the double pedal opened up a whole new spectrum. Yes, there are some people who can do pretty fast footwork with single pedals, but that doesn't change the fact that double pedals are used because it makes the fast things easier and quicker to achieve rather than using one foot. These pedals, if used correctly, simply open up a spectrum that 2 beaters can't do. It's not cheating

  • just fuckin horrible trigger

  • @ragrapios Do you even know why triggers exist? They are so popular because they can capture the exact sound of any drum from the studio (after EQing and effects) and reproduce it in a live situation.

  • Quadruple pads require a lot of technique, but imo there is a limit to double-bass usage. At a certain point it just gets too much. Like it says, less is more.

  • Nice triggs ... You should lauch a midi sequence...

  • quad bass is very intresting of an idea, but id be much more impressed without, he can go fast enough without them, what he has to me is overkill..but still VERY talented

  • Try to play the same thing on an accoustic drumset ^^

  • @tipleutre Why?

  • @myrkul777

Just because it's almost impossible to play the same way with so less difference between notes on an electronic drum (or a triggered one) than on an accoustic set.

But I just told that because I can't play this way on both ^^ And I don't like the way it sound (to play so fast) ;)

  • u call this drumming? quads? lol

  • Brian Fair?

  • Comment removed

  • i dont really understand why some ppl call this wrong!!!! if we can use the front of our foot why don't use also the back????

  • @DevilKingGR If we can use our hands, why not use our fingers too?and place triggers on our fingers too,so that each tap of a finger is drum roll. 0

  • @sicmaggoter if u want to do that man it's fine!!!! it's not wrong or bad!!!! some ppl may not like it but who can say where to stop the use of ur body if u know what i mean!!!! and besides i am not talking about triggers this is a different object!!!! i am talking about body parts!!!! i mean that if u wanna use ur dick also that's cool!!!!

  • @DevilKingGR I totally agree! This video is not a preaching of "how you should play", it's just a different approach with different outcome! Creativity is the foundation of music, even if it doesn't sound good to everyone's ears. Before the marching drums were created I bet there were people who thought using sticks were wrong as well. There will always be those who think that everything that's not "their own way! will be the wrong. It's particularly stupid to look upon music with a rule book.

  • @DevilKingGR You can, its called heel toe and lots of people are doing it without specially made pedals. Would you be fine with a third beater on each bass drum working off of a trigger on the knee? I mean you could rig something up so why not right? You know what? Lets get four on each head going, just gotta rig em to your elbows.... Using a different technique is one thing, using hardware that simplifies what youre doing is pretty cheap.

  • @falconer6439 So it's cheap to use hardware to simplify your playing? Then we all should throw away our pedals and start kicking the drums directly with our feet instead. That doesn't simplify it, does it? Four bass drum beaters would be awesome to see, just for the sake of being creative! However, it seems that you've already decided that only the things that fit your taste is okay to do, otherwise it's bad. I'm fine with you not liking this video, but you show a narrow-minded approach to music

  • @blablasak Everything is not so black and white, not cheap to use hardware necessarily but its how you use it. Triggers themselves are fine, but is it cheap to be using triggers with the beaters a nanometer away from the head and tapping? Yeah. Fast double bass fits my taste just fine, quad beaters triggered and not doing anything interesting or any different than any other fast footed drummer (aside from the typical quad "buzz" roll)? Not so much.

  • @falconer6439 So you don't like that it sounds like he's hitting hard when he's not? I don't think the triggered drum sounds that good either, but it still takes a lot of talent to pull it off at such speed. I'm sure you already know that triggers don't help his playing, they just alter the sound of it. And keep high volume, like microphones. And you don't have to like his buzz or ordinary playing at all, this discussion was about you acting like music is about certain rules. Experiment!!

  • @blablasak I consider it cheap yes. Never said that he is untalented, I understand how difficult very fast speeds are to attain cleanly on normal pedals at least. I am saying on the other hand that what he is doing aside from a few of the bass drum rolls that are distinctly quad rolls he isnt doing anything that special. Nothing he is doing is experimental, unique, or creative aside from using those pedals. Hes a clean player and all, would love to see what he can do with a normal set

  • @falconer6439 I agree, but the discussion originally was about the using of those very pedals. And I wouldn't call his overall playing here experimental or groundbreaking either. Just the footwork, if only just the quad rolls, as you said. I wouldn't want to look at clips like these more than a few times, but I like that he tries something different from "regular" double bass players, even if I eventually end up watching their techniques in 99% of the cases. It's just something unusual.

  • @DevilKingGR ok if you could, would you play gravity blasts on both hands and time them perfectly to play 64 second notes and expect it to sound and look awesome? ill appreciate what Guido Wyss is doing with those pedals the day he plays something that dosent sounds like a fucking buzz.

  • @luisluvsblastbeats54 whether sth is awesome or not is up to anybody's opinion!!!! u think this is buzz and i dont!!!! let's stick to that!!!! :)

  • How can you hate?, this is Death Metal!!! Guido should be able to play whatever he wants.

  • Sorry, buddy. But this is cheating. on a bass it plays by double-kick doubles or mommy-daddys. Hands must play with fingers, not with rebound. All that i can recomended - it's use the professional drum teqnique and More-More practice, and may be you will be the great drumer.

  • @DGenius505 Sorry, buddy, but I think you'll find if you're playing acousitcally live this isn't cheating -- triggering is cheating. Double Twin Effect pedals are the best way to get around having to trigger your kit... with them you can blast out rediculous speeds without losing volume.

  • @Seffyr Triggering isn't cheating if you can pull off riduculous speeds ON BEAT with TWO pedals. Quad pedals are probably the biggest "cheat" in drumming. I figured that would be common sense. I guess not.

  • @Seffyr Plus, the kicks he's using in this video ARE triggered. Your argument of "more volume" is what many people would call TOTAL BULLSHIT.

  • @DarknessDrawsCloser Of course it's obvious he's using triggered kicks - but what I'm saying is that you don't need the triggers to play high tempo Death Metal blasts at an audible volume (AKA Entirely Acoustic) when you're using these.

Normally on double pedals moving at that speed you lose alot of the volume because the beater is making softer contact becaue it's moving so fast. With these you can make full contact and get a damn good attack even at riduculous speeds.

    Derp.

  • @Seffyr I don't know if you saw my previous point, but my argument isn't over the volume of the quad pedals, but how you said triggering is cheating. If you can play upwards of 250 BPM with TWO PEDALS, who cares if you use triggers. Triggering, when used properly, isn't cheating. Using these pedals, however, is ALWAYS a method of cheating

  • @DarknessDrawsCloser Aha - we're seeing it from different perspectives.

You're looking at the skill required (To which; I will agree - fast, smooth doubles at higher speeds are quite skillful, and from that perspective these pedals are cheating given it's just a heel roll)

I'm looking at the volume generated acoustically (To which; I still maintain - triggering makes up for lack of power in the kicks, and from my perspective that's cheating when playing acoustically.)

  • @Seffyr Check out my channel for examples of quad pedals on acoustic drums. They make it possible to play at legitimate volumes at around 240 bpm. they're awesome.

  • @DarknessDrawsCloser I play twin effect pedals, and I've also jammed on my buddy's triggered axis pedals, and I gotta say the quads are way harder.

The reason I think they're more legitimate than triggers is that drummers with triggers tend to set the beater very close to the heads because it doesn't matter how loud they are. Setting the beaters so close makes it WAY easier to play fast.

Check my channel for examples of twin effect pedals used on acoustic drums. They're sick.

  • @ItalianAvalanche Idunno. I don't think I'll ever give them a legitimate chance. I see them as a shortcut, and not beneficial in any sense.

  • @DarknessDrawsCloser you're definitely entitled to you opinion, but I think you should be more open-minded. I bet the first time someone used double bass, people said it was cheating. This is just using logic to engineer a solution to a problem. It's how things develop and grow.

  • @DarknessDrawsCloser They're beneficial to the maximum sense of the word. The possibilities are limitless.

  • kollias can do this with one foot

  • this drum sounds exactly as a good drum kit should sound

  • so thats why he can do it....Cheater.....those pedals are for left foot blocks or cowbells or a single pedal but not that way...pfff

  • @OfivetwoekVeeDee well.. first.. you cant cheat in music because is not a competition, and second actually you need technique to use this quadruple pedals, but obviously i think its harder to do fast stuff with a normal double pedal

  • @OfivetwoekVeeDee no those pedals are made that way. the heel activates the other beater

  • 1:19 damnnnnnn EPICCCCCCCCCCC

  • I threw up a little.

  • 1:42 HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A FUCKIN' FAST BLAST

  • ok now that is speed up,that snare is unbelievable.

  • @gabosesy it is not speeded up! He's using gravity blast ;)

  • Not a fan of the high trigger volume :/

  • "ok here i go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

  • Technique for techniques sake. You get the same sound chucking a drumkit down the stairs!

  • @gardenstate78 It's not easy using these pedals. There's a lot of technique involved here.

  • how the fuck do you use quad pedals?

  • All I hear is an AK-47 and a minigun XD

  • just a bullshit,

  • lovin the giant hi hats

  • NO TRIGGER NO PARTY!

  • I LOVE double bass, this MIGHT be crossing the line though.

  • As if it isn't enough with just 2 pedals?

  • Yer I got the same setup, kicks ass. I clocked myself at 270bpm 16ths on just my right foot the other week. If I can align my left thats 540bpm! Useless, but fun!

  • the best drum solo in the world i dont know what to say!!!! love the fast pedal

  • @nailedurmum01 Haha im not a rookie. Just because you may be able to reach a high speed just doing heel up, doesn't mean you can play it as cleanly as you could while using heel toe properly. Heel toe can be played with power, obviously you, nor anyone else you know has taken the time to be able to.

  • holy fuck. Guys like this ruin drums and music. What the fuck what that ??? Ya cant fucking play, so you think making it real fast is going to make it good?? Then again there are a lot of morons out there.

  • You know, when double bass first came around, there were definitely people that said it was cheating. I don't see how this is any different. Why don't guitarists get ragged on for using delay pedals and such?

I'm definitely in support of this kind of ingenuity, however I would find it more legitimate if he didn't also use triggers...

I'm looking into these types of pedals as a REPLACEMENT for triggers, so that I can play moderately fast double at reasonable volumes. Not to play inhuman speeds.

  • Wow.. very huge ! Just buy a new pair of shoes

  • Man up and play a normal double pedal.

  • @nailedurmum01 He wants to go faster than you.

  • @HairlessApeBattery this could be achieved with a standard double pedal.

  • @nailedurmum01 Not by you.

  • @HairlessApeBattery When did I say it could?

  • @nailedurmum01 You didn't, but what I said is 'he wants to go faster than you.' Call it cheating or whatever, but the fact is he can play 16ths at 300 bpm. Does it really matter how he's doing it? Isn't this guy a fucking incredible drummer?

And that said, where the fuck do YOU get off telling this monster to man up? OH, right. Youtube.

  • @HairlessApeBattery It's not cheating, but it's unmusical to a pointless extent. And no I don't believe him to be an ''incredible drummer''. There are drummers who can manage 16ths at 280 to 290 with a double pedal; so no, the fact that he is playing at 20bpm higher with a QUAD pedal does not impress me much. BTW I can hold 16ths at 260, so that's where I get off telling him to man up. Heel toe sounds shit without triggers and has minimal practical application.

  • @nailedurmum01 Actually that would be where you are wrong. Heel toe sounds just fine without triggers, if you can do it properly. I myself can't play heel toe well enough to do so, but i do have a friend that can. If you develop the muscles in your legs enough to be able to control both strokes then you don't triggers. Besides, triggers don't technically make you go any faster, they actually bring out more imperfections than playing without them.

  • @NateDaDrummzer ps Just watched another of his videos and he has to do gravity blasts to hold 8th notes at about 270. If you can't perform something competently without triggers then you shouldn't play it at all. cop out.

  • Don't everyone jump my ass: I think what he is doing is very hard to do, but it's not very musical IMHO. I can hear the same thing turning on my 2 stroke weed eater.

  • hello!

    i have questions.;what pedal is better;duallist or sonor g step 3 twin?

i wanna buy a single twin pedal and i don.t know which one is good for me.....thanks!

  • Con talon punta y cuadruple bombo todo se puede :S

  • Are you kidding me? Quadruple bass pedals? Now it's getting fucking ridiculous.

  • @truthwillbetoldjig its the same as heel toe, except these pedals are specifically made for it.

  • I've seen a bunch of this guy's videos, but I've never seen his face.

  • s snare drum trigger? huh? and that stack sounds cheezy bro. otherwise, killer chops.

  • Comment removed

  • He is definitely "Those whom Gods detest!!" sick!!!

  • You have the worst taste in the history of drumming.

    DIE BOOTS FAG.

  • I just got today, my two twin effect pedals. Its really difficult to play with them... Try them before buying, it may turn you are not good enough, hehe.

  • dude he's crazy, and this is legit becuase that shit takes A LOT of practice. I've heard in person at a guitar center, and he has pretty good power too, no tapping.

  • @NADENonsetcold Well i have never used those kicks and don't intend to as my band plays music that requires only double pedals...plus i'm used too it anyway..haha

  • HAHA XD the sound of those pedals rofl.... It's like a fucking fishing rod when you are pulling in a fish...

  • WHO NEEDS DRUMS WHEN YOU HAVE COMPUTERS AMIRITE?

i'm not sure if people don't understand the amount of dexterity it takes to play so cleanly, or if they think triggers just make your playing instantly in time and clean. he's an amazing drummer, i don't know why everyone just says "TRIGGERS" and doesn't appreciate what they're experiencing. i'm sure he could play just fine without them, the faster blasting would just sound less intelligible.

  • the quad base drumming sounds like shit.... sorry

  • fucking weak blast beats haha

  • where can i find these?

  • Who needs groove when you have drum triggers!

  • I think those are Sonor Twin Action Quadraple kicks..handy if ya play 300bpm blast beats..

  • whats up with those kicks? i never seen anything like it before. kind of cool but i personally would never want them.

  • nice hair!!!

  • nice hair!!

  • 1:40-1:42 I've never head a blast beat that fast. And probably never will again.

  • lol have you ever heard of a rudiment before?

  • cough**CHEATER**cough

  • so......un........even

  • @mudddflappp Certainly it is far from perfect uniformity, but I prefer that human element of imperfection over the robotic perfection of triggers every time...

  • @Ignominal true bro

  • l would like to hear this without KD replacement, it would literally sound like a shiticane.

  • to all you guys that are dick heads and say this is cheating, they probably said the same thing about the first guys to really start using double bass pedals...chances is are quad pedals will become octo pedals and so on until it sounds like one long note

  • @bcoklay .... indeed, when one long note, "grind" will finally catch up to "drone".

    Fast will be slow ?

  • kinda noisy pedals

  • And I'm sure its really fun using those pedals. I'd use em n try n see how fast I could go. so what its not music to your ears. WTF is music these days anyways. Justin bieber fans can go away n watch a taylor swift video now. Thx. Lmao

  • @soundmind529 thx for explaining to these idiots. k everybody. How do you cheat music. Answer me that. Who is he cheating. He shows u he's using the pedals! not like its a comp to see who can drum the fastest. And if you don't like the video don't watch it. But everytime you put your two cents in bout how dumb or shitty he is. Its people like you who makes guys like this get off. Overall I like video and drumming. Not bad. Seen millions of drummers who are bad. And I'm sure its really fun t

  • So normal blasts, normal gravitys, but with stupid fast kick. How does that make it worth anything. Sweet he can play fast using four drum beaters. So could I and anyone else who feels like it.

  • @WhiteChapel0514 id love to see a video of you, or anyone else on here reading this, tryin to play what hes playin on the bass drum. and if you can play it like he can, ill personally fly myself to you and let you kick my ass.

  • @nevDRUM125 I could play what he plays... Up until about 0:32... Then I would just give up.

  • His blasting is out of this world and his footwork is insane- i'm about to go out on a limb here- His cymbals sound terrible, they sound like bronze helium tanks.

  • 0:32 Don't taze me bro!

  • i dont really care about using technology to speed up ur playing. there are techniques and technologies for every instrument to do this. all im saying is, just because drums, or any instrument for that matter, are being played fast, doesnt make it good. everything he does is extremely "cookie cutter" death metal stuff, but with overdone double bass.

  • these dualist pedals sound like shit, im all for intelligent double bass.

just because its fast does not make it good.

  • @kaledoux You're not one for intelligent comments I see.

  • er ah..... BOO!!!!!

  • Sounds like the end of the world 1:37 -1:41 xD

  • He looks like pickles from dethklok

  • wait is he playing something like a dualist pedal?

  • @allmetaliswelcome

No he is playing Sonor Giant steps - which work completely different than the dualist. The sonor giant step is a heel/toe pedal - you have 2 beaters on each pedal, one controlled by your toes(ball of your foot) the other is controlled by the heel of your foot. This requires some skill to use correctly.

The dualist pedal has a switch where with one regular foot motion - you can get 2 hits from the pedal (lame).

So this is not cheating - it's a unique pedal that not many use

  • @theseventhammer ah ok! so it's a pedal made for the heel toe technique basicly?

  • @allmetaliswelcome

At fast tempos it's a "floating" heel/toe motion, as your foot is floating in mid air and then you are using heel to hit one beater, and toe/ball of your foot for the other. It's actually pretty difficult to get equal power and precision out of both (especially when it comes to double bass with 2 giant steps) - so it takes a LOT of practice to master.

  • 1:18 that sounded sooo awesome :P

  • @killu626

Go listen to John Longstreth do it correctly in the Origin song "Portal".

  • The thing that killed this video for me is the fact that it looks like he's using two crash cymbals as his hi hat... and his dreadlocks also didn't help

  • No, this isn't cheating. This is being smart.

  • nice shoes.......

  • LOL for the giant "High Hats"

  • As if I thought this video couldn't get anymore intense, I see those gigantic fuckin' "Hi-Hats". Someone please shoot this guy.

    Goddamn.

  • God!! So wht he's using quad pedals. how is it cheating? I don't understand. drumming is drumming! And I don't understand how people say using quads or doing gravity blast beats is cheating! its drumming. Obviously we can't make 1 ligament go so fast too

Create this type of roll!! If you are a drummer, A good drummer who wants too progress and play really fast. You should know to try and use less work on your body and let the sticks or pedals do some of the work! So is a free bounce cheatin

  • at 1:18 you are rocking

  • This would sound like complete shit without those pedals...His hands suck and I'm sure his feet would sound awful as well

  • yeah it's cheating.....Kollias all the way :D

  • That is so lame, i dont understand people who use more than 2 pedals or heel-toe technique. If u want to see real drummer who can also play fast, check George Kollias!

  • dang id like to try those peddles

  • On the right side of his snare, does he have two crashes on top of each other as a large hi-hat? That's pretty badass and creative.

  • ( extreme sarcasm ) hey guys this video is almost as good as joey jordison drum solo bahahahahahhaahahaha

  • You Are sick Crazy Awesome!!!! Damn! That was cool!
