  • 'Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.' - Gandhi

  • Crime dropped 43%; How many mass shootings did it stop?

  • Those who chose security at the expense of liberty will receive neither. - Ben Franklin

  • Yea, let's just ban all guns and let the government spy on us everywhere we go.. Just burn what tattered remains of the constitution are stll around. Meanwhile the government just finished giving Mexican drug cartels 30,000 firearms... And they knowingly allowed cartels to import 5 tons of cocain..

Thomas Jefferson was right, the government is evil. We need to shrink it and shrink it fast.

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • thats the reason u tuck in your shirt o wait thats open carry

  • Abc is fucktarded

  • OH! and i see that camera system has crime down 40 somthing %. But you failed to report that privacy was down 98%. Maybe you are right, bigger government is the solution to everything, and the government are just saints who care about humanity. After all, they are doing SUCH a great job.

  • LET ME TELL YOU- if a nut job walks in a building that i am in, and starts killing people, i am going to put several holes through his chest! I will not roll over on my back like a submissive dog and let someone kill me or others. WHERE ARE THE MEN IN THIS SOCIETY?! Why does no one want to take a stand and protect their loved ones, or even strangers? No one wants responsibility. Not just with being a protector, but in any case, any more.

  • Key words...Survelliance is the monitoring of the behavior, activities, or other changing information, usually of people.

How does that actually STOP crime? It's supposed to force someone to think about the rationality of committing it, but when was the last time a loony gunman stopped to think?

People just stand around and watch bad things happen. What a shame.

  • Why is it that liberals want gun control, and less drug control? Notice the irony? If you can't stop illegal drugs from getting around - what makes you think you can stop illegal guns from getting around?

You won't solve it by removing it - all you will do is cause people to be creative in breaking the law.

  • shouldnt have been sold a gun if he had a history of mental health issues... that's supposed to be part of the background check. wtf.

we need more gun control like the badguy needs a headstart

  • well the obvious thing is to deny people with mental health issues the possession of firearms. they do it in switzerland and im pretty sure mentally ill people arent allowed in militaries. . .except for al qaeda of course but we all know they're f*cked up anyhow.

  • Putting cameras around campus will only allow to watch students be killed before stopping it, allowing concealed carry will end it....

  • Laughing at smart tv cameras. Idiots.

  • hahaha

Johns Hopkins certainly did do something alright. They turned their campus into East Germany.

A once proud and free people have given up their constitutional heritage to thugs.

  • I love how the news picked an HK Mk23 as the gun to show on their cover page

  • I really hope nobody takes concealed carry wussie helpless-without-gun man-pussies seriously

  • So, Johns Hopkins isn't willing to let people defend themselves against attackers, but it is more than willing to spy on the community at large and to infringe the privacy of innocent individuals.

  • So anyone caught dancing will be arrested? What if I want to flail my arms!? LOOK! Look at the idiot on camera waving his arms! He's on every tv in the security office, he must be popular!

  • So anyone caught dancing will be arrested? What if I want to flail my arms!?

  • So anyone caught dancing will be arrested?

  • Turning malls and campuses into armed fortresses? Do they honestly think that the students will be standing at the doors, guns at low ready and fingers on the trigger? When is the American public stop and look at the facts. I'd like to ask an anti-gunner this question. If you were put into a bank full of concealed carry holders with their guns, and it was suddenly robbed and under fire from one man, would you feel safer knowing that everyone is armed, or would you rather wait for the police?

  • @shem1911 I would make one change in that question, change the armed robber into a crazed lunatic, who's gone of his psych medications. a robber faced with a decision of weather to continue his action in the midst of numerous well armed citizens would most likely desist. a psychopath would not consider the danger he was in and would most likely persist in his actions, killing as many as he could. like the Virginia tech killer with out an armed intervention anyone with out a weapon is a victim.

  • ever notice how these shootings happen in so called gun free zones? You never see some lunatic going to a gun show and opening fire because they know they would only get 1 shot off before they were brought down.In the past 20 years all these multiple shootings have taken place in restaurants, schools and malls.

  • ever notice how these shootings happen in so called gun free zones? You never see some lunatic going to a gun show and opening fire because they know they would only get 1 shot off before they were brought down.In the past 20 years all these multiple shootings have taken place in restaurants, schools and malls that are deemed gun free. Its time to even up the odds in favor of the innocent people who may be put in a situation like these situations

  • they can eather close off the campus and put metal detectors in or they can allow it

  • i remember seeing this one poster, it had a picture of a camera, and in read: "we don't stop crime, but we can get it on tape."

  • I wish all the people that say we should not have guns would go to Britain because in Britain where guns are very rare you would probably get mugged in about an hour. Britain's crime rate is nearly 3 times higher than the U.S. and they barely have guns.

  • Its simple...gun free zones=free killing zones. No resistance, no fighting, just uncontested slaughter. When is the last time you heard about a mass shooting at a police station? Reason...nobody thinks about going in there and shooting it up because they know almost everyone there is going to shoot back. Criminals are pussies and look for the easiest target. They rob convenience stores because they are easier than banks. They shoot up schools because they are easy. Stop making it easy!

  • I'm trying to find that slanted study against college students to carry.

I found it on here but can't find it anywhere now.

  • we should just give all the weapons to the criminals, once they take everything they want then there won't be any more crime right?

  • It's really simple product of human psychology at play. The Psychopath IE Hunter when engaged becomes the hunted and must go to defense mode to survive. If he doesn't the fight is over as the person who engages him has ended the fight anyways. So the argument that a active shooter being engaged by a trained carry person is bad is insanity at best and defies conventional logic, and facts. The engagement allows innocents to flee or hide, thus dramatically reducing bloodshed.

  • I am combat trained law enforcement trained, and a long history as a competition shooter and I can't carry on a college campus? I spent 20 years as a combat handgun instructor training police and security officers and I still can't carry on campus. The gun free zone is insanity. Once a psychopath bent on killing people is engaged by another with a weapon he is forced to go from a hunter to fight or flight. This now takes him off his mission to kill, and forces him to stop killing.

  • @bailenforcer

"Once a psychopath bent on killing people is engaged by another with a weapon he is forced to go from a hunter to fight or flight. This now takes him off his mission to kill, and forces him to stop killing."

The actions of Jeanne Assam, a former cop--turned--armed civilian and volunteer security guard at the New Life mega church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, perfectly proves your point on this part of your comment.

  • Oh great more big brother to "keep us safe" remember

"Those who give up liberty for security deserve niether and will lose both"

    -Ben Franklin

  • that monitor smart camera is stupid...anybody could wave they nands around just joking with friends..how dumb could they get?what a waste of money...theyll try anything just to not let kids carry on campus.geez.

  • damn democrats

  • at 55 sec is my gun

  • So let me get this straight...the answer is not to allow students the right to carry, but to install more "big brother" cameras? What this is saying is that the less rights you have (2nd ammendment, privacy, unlawful searching) the more safe you are? Makes no sense...I wonder if those monitoring the cameras can respond to a scene as fast as a CCW present at the scene. We all know the answer to this question, I guess you are more safe to trust everyone to protect you, but yourself.

  • Gun laws are doing there job. With all the shootings reported it's apparent nobody has shot back. So I would say the gun laws instilled by fucking radical liberals are doing there job keeping mentally ill people executing their mission.

  • When guns kill more than alcohol I will worry. Mainstream news is out of control. They teach/report stupid views.

  • smart tv camera so that meens i cant do an acting class with out them thinking ima kill everyone and even if it did work it'd still take them 10 mins just to respond

  • even if those cameras alert authority's as soon as someone is shot or "falls down" there is still a response time for the police not to mention SWAT to get there.

One minute in a gun fight will seem like a lifetime.

  • CC on campus would automatically deter pricks from doing this in the first place. Since they don't know who might be carrying, they have no safe place to carry out their 'operation'

  • holy shit how stupid can people get to stop school shootings we need guns in schools because if someone pulls out a gun and say he's gunna shoot people and if someone else has a gun all he has to do is shoot the fucker with the gun and problem solved and guns don't kill people fucked up people and husbands that come early do.

  • the only solution

get a time machine, and never invent guns

but thats not going to happen

more pratical solution, dont ban guns and remove 2nd amendment

criminals will get guns no matter what

they can steal from pilice, get black market, make whatever

just make it possible for ppl to defend themselves

  • Listen to the liberal media. Making us feel safe with those eyes in the sky camera. All it does is record when someone gets killed. Those eyes can not protect people. Don't you believe it.

  • I'll never understand why people think it is virtuous to be helpless.

The only thing that evil needs to flourish is for good people to do nothing.

  • +++++1

  • Ohh so let's install cameras so we can replay and watch mass shootings, nothing stops a mad man better then a bullet.

  • I am for conceal carry on campus with permit. Virgina Tech may have ended sooner if someone in the classroom had a concealed handgun. Just my opinion.

  • your right pacer i have a ccp in louisiana and i hate that i can not carry ion campus i not criminal record been carrying since i was 21 and never had a problem why cant i defend my self and my classmates if possible???

  • I have cc license and a handgun. I am a college student in Indiana and we currently do not have any means of carrying on campus.

In Indiana it takes no classes to get a cc so I will only be comfortable if people go through a class and are a good enough shot to carry.

Then if the training deams them not good enough then they don't need to carry period...otherwise I totally support those who are qualified to carry

  • what school? I am the president of Ball State SCCC.

  • Hello, Big Brother!

  • Camera System = Reactive

    Concealed Carry = Proactive

  • 18 yr olds can fight, kill or die in middle east for uncle sam, stateside, theyre too immature to use a gun.

how do you defend youself, shoot a serial killer with a high tech surveilance camera?!?!

protecting your life is the irresponsability of the govt and police & what value are they without our defenselessness?

dont forget the police have NO legal obligation to protect you! you cant sue if they show up 48 hours late or just watch the massacre.

    americans arm yourselves!

  • Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

  • Government kills people

  • With such an amazing survalence system, at least they will be able to track down my murderer.

Somehow that doesn't make me feel any safer.

  • Great! Now we have a state of the art camera system to watch dozens of college students get shot on their way to class. If that isn't protection I don't know what is.

  • I'll keep quoting this:

"Don't go to parties with metal detectors. Sure, it's safe inside, but what about all those nigga$ waiting outside with guns. They know you ain't got one!"

  • Also:

Gun control: Providing criminals with a safe work environment since 1934

  • I don't go in if i can't take my gun.

  • Surveillance is just that. Surveillance. NOT protection.

  • The concept of gun control alomost seems a myth. No matter what you do the criminal will find a way of obtaining a weapon.

  • "foolproof solution"?

There is no such thing as "foolproof" because there will always be that one fool that slips through the cracks and beats the system

  • Concealed Carry on campus sounds ok as long as you limit the number of weapons, and not allow everyone who can get a CCW to carry. Think about it do you want everyone in your collage classes to be allowed to carry a pistol? Also the students that are allowed to carry need to have previous experience with weapons i.e.: law enforcement or military.

  • "Think about it do you want everyone in your collage classes to be allowed to carry a pistol?"

How would you determine who does and who doesn't? Also, remember you have to be 21 to carry, that automatically eliminates all those students who are under 21.

  • You aren't suppost to know of a person has their CCW on them. That is the whole point.

  • teachers should have them. there you keep them out of young adults hands. leave them with the level heads. plus how many do you spose are on campus with military or police experience? not many id bet. and would you count Ntl Guard? Thats only part time. Im 23 and I carry. But I have also taken classes and my family is all shooters, and my brother is a State Trooper. I think i would be safe to carry on campus. How would you decide?

  • I agree, there a level headed people out there who do not have a military or police background that can carry and would be helpful in a school shooting, but you dont want dozens of students with weapons going after a shooter when they lack the background in organizing and moving on an active shooter. Then you have an armed mob that may shoot or be shot. Leave it to the trained professionals.

  • I have military background. It isn't worth bragging about. You learn to shoot in basic, and once a year you go to the range and qualify. A soldier who does not see active duty may hardly ever actually fire their weapon. Same with police.

A person who gets a concealed weapon permit likely shoots every weekend, or every month. They are required to pass classes that are far more involved than military safety classes.

  • it actually depends on where you get your permit. In Pa I got mine ten minutes after walking in with nothing but a quick paper and a background check. no classes required tho I have taken some instruction from a buddy who is an MP and loves to go shoot. But I get your point. Those who carry legally I believe are quite safe with it.

  • The same thing was said in Florida when they allowed right to carry. It will be a bloodbath with people everywhere having guns. Not true the crime rate has gone down. I believe I saw a report that claimed as much as 46% reduction in violent crime since they adopted rtc I believe it was in 76?? I think it would be the same here

  • Those cameras have nothing to do with the concealed carry story... they were just kind of thrown in there. And the fact that I can't fall down without the whole freaking university watching me like a hawk is a little ridiculous. CCW on campus!

  • cool so the cameras will film your death for your family... Smart thinking!

  • and what if those cameras do see an man with an gun in the school it will still take 5-15 min for the police to get there and then 1-2 hours to breach the fucking doors.people make me sick when they think an camera can stop an threat, it can't,and the only thing that can is an armed public.

  • OH YEA! Those cameras are going to fall of their mounts and hit the gunman. The only things those are good for is alerting. How about alerting the students inside who are carrying guns. **this is an anouncment from youre principal. We have a gunman outside, so pull your guns outand start blastin.**

  • STOP PLAYING WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES and allow us legal permit holders to protect ourselves legally on these "gun free zones" (places that don't even provide security or have check points!!!)

Taking away the right to self protection, IS a crime against humanity IMHO... I don't care which government it is, it's wrong.

  • They are looking for a foolproof system? I guess for it to work for liberals it would have to be foolproof.

  • how nice, they have cameras so they can watch you die now....damn sheep.

  • Just like how the clowns believe having signs say "gun free" makes them safer (without providing people with armed security and check points.)

I can understand why CCP holders can't be armed in a court house etc (they got police all over with check points) but NOT a "gun free zone" which offers nothing more than words).

  • gun free zone... except for people that are trying to shoot you

  • Places where schools are targetted by 'evil people' like Israel allow faculty members to be armed... and they were always effective in protecting themselves.

Only if the emo morons in this country could understand that SELF DPROTECTION is a HUMAN RIGHT, not a privalage... so anything preventing people's personal protection ("gun free zones" with no security and check points) is a ethical crime IMHO).

  • lol

  • When seconds count cops are only minutes away.

  • WOW!!!! So cameras solved all there violence!!! That is just awsome. No wonder bank hold ups have down, all the cameras everywere!!!!

What a fucking joke, Arm students and watch this shootings in schools go down.

  • No legal handguns and closed-circuit TV...Johns Hopkins is like a mini-England in Maryland.

  • "Clean up the illegal markets". LMFAO, yeah that won't ever happen. Look at how effective the war on drugs has been.

  • I know some students who are transferring to schools that permit concealed carry for the simple reason that they know the Universitys and politicians aren't going to do anything that will make a flick of a differance if they won't permit them to carry.

  • The solution is to stop denying people the right to defend their lives. In these active shooter situations at malls and colleges the shooter needs to be stopped before he can shoot many people. If students had been armed at Virginia Tech and NIU then the outcome could have been vastly different. Cowering under a desk is not the only option you should have. How many more shootings have to happen before people get this through their heads.

  • @massltca

I agree with you here. Knowing that the police (though I have great respect for them--the good ones that is) simply cannot come to one's rescue fast enough after calling 911, I have this to say:

"When seconds count, the police are still minutes too far away."

Really, when confronted by those wanting to kill us, we are responsible for OUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY AND OF THOSE WITH US, NOT the police and government at all levels (local, city, county, state, and national/federal).

  • "its so frightening and so frustrating looking for a fool-proof solution"

YOU FUCKING IDIOT!!!! the fool proof solution is right in front of your stupid face, and its called allowing students to carry on campus. when criminals know that students are armed, they will not choose that school for their target. it's common fucking sense!

  • @tiger3943 It's called reading the projector bub...

  • @tiger3943 they are so bent on figuring out how to protect us, they've forgotten our ability to protect ourselves.

  • it has been proven that technology should not be relayed upon for safety, it can and will fail and wont do shit to save anyone.

a gun on the other hand will not fail when a life is on the line(with proper gun care of course)and has proven to work under the worst conditions(unlike electronics)so it begs the question:how many more people have to die b4 anyone decides to make up their mind and allow law abiding adults carry on campus?

  • The "fool proof solution" they are looking for is to let students carry. Then shooters wouldn't pick a school as a target.

  • smart tv?... what a joke. well, at least they'll be able to have quality footage of the victims getting murdered and then the gunman commiting suicide. i think i'll take my gun over "smart tv's" any (every) day of the week. these sheeple need to wake up to reality.
