Umm, she's acting ridiculous. The whole point of analogies is to make clear abstract ideas. Rattling off stats doesn't leave a very clear idea in people's minds as to what is actually happening. In my studies of organizational management, my professors often ask for metaphors for concepts we are trying to convey.

I mean, even the so-called experts seem to not know what the hell is going on with the economy so how can they expect laypeople to understand without any kind of metaphor/analogy?
