The 1989 Ironman Hawaii World Championships race was my first race in Kona. What a great race! Glad i was there when history was made.

I remember this well too. I was in the race. Apart from the technology, it hasn't really changed much. Went back to watch someone I was coaching in 2008 and I have no idea how people do this. I must have been somebody else.

I remeber this race really well, I was a Dave Scott fan, although I felt awful for Allen after this race.

Mark Allen was always my favourite triathlete, the guy is like a machine. Fav triathletes for me, Mark Allen, Dave Scott, Scott Molina, Scott Tinley, Greg Welch
