They blinded her because she is the demon in demon tag. The first child she catches becomes the next demon, and the last child she catches becomes the priestess for the strangling ritual. It's said that the reason why the last child is the priestess is because her spiritual power is what made her get caught last, which makes her more powerful.

Yes they blind the girl so she can become the next demon for demon tag, but they use the mask as a key to get to the tunnel as well. Yes, they remove the mask after puncturing the poor girl's eyes out, but not until the demon tag ritual is complete. After the next two are chosen, they remove the mask (ow) and than use it to "blind" the demons beyond the hell gate. Fun stuff this fatal frame.

That was pretty messed up. I played Fatal Frame 2, but not the others. I really enjoyed FF2, but I didn't get scared by it at all. I loved the atmosphere and art in the game, and watching the people around me spazz out when some ghost popped up. :B

LOVE this Game! The Blinding Ritual is one of my most favourite Rituals (along with Demon Tag. =P) I'd hate to be that poor woman. I wish we knew more about her. She's my most favourite ghost!
