Letterman never did the Emmy's. He did the Oscars (something Conan has never been asked to do).

Come to think of it, Conan has never won an Emmy (Dave has won about 25).

David Letterman hosted the Emmys in 1986

He has won 7 Emmy awards.

Conan O'Brien won an Emmy in 2007 for best writing in a comedy or variety program.

He also won an Emmy writing for SNL.

You obviously do your "homework" on wikipedia... LOL. I just checked it and they only list up to 1994 and doesn't include the 5 years in a row, from 1998-2002, when he won best variety show.

However Dave himself stopped including his name on the Emmy nominations for best show after 1996. Perhaps he felt it was overkill or perhaps he wanted to have the other Producers (including Barbara Gaines who has been involved with the show forever) get the glory. Either way, he personally didnt receive the trophy when they won each year from 1998-2002. (Letterman was still nominated as a writer and a host for most of those years).
