In the entertainment industry my wife has learned electronics (Sound production and engineering), geography (Constant travel in areas that she hasn't been before), sociology/anthropology (How cultures other than ours live), money management (How to travel for next to nothing), the rudiments of instruments that she hasn't played before (From being around other musicians) while creating something to allow the brain important rest.

@BETNCORT We were protesting for an employee/staff strike at one of the major 5 star hotels in downtown Toronto. Workers were getting shit hours and horrid pay with virtually no benefits. So someone reached out to Martin and he showed up and stayed for like 2 hours and walked the streets and spoke his mind and his eldest son Emilio Estevez made an appearance. It was a couple day before the G20 riots.
It was pretty cool when West Wing ran some episodes with AA meetings in the White House. I could see Martin's hand in that. It's sad, Martin and Emilio are so eminently likable, and Charlie just isn't. He has become the darker side of his TV character.

So someone reached out to Martin and he showed up and stayed for like 2 hours and walked the streets and spoke his mind and his eldest son Emilio Estevez made an appearance. It was a couple day before the G20 riots.

But his addiction is to the point that he is clearly insane (by some definitions) & not able to make healthy or responsible decisions. His whole self is terrified of living without the chemicals. He may say otherwise, but that's his wrecked brain chemistry talking. Most telling to me is the look on his brother's face in this video - he's scared to hell about Charlie's situation.

The point when I realized it was alot more serious was when I read in early 1990 decade about MS planning CS's funeral in like 1992 or something. A long time ago already but just was at the pt of having enough and for some reason felt like it was necessary!

And I'd listen to Martin Sheen on this, he's a recovering addict as well. Until you've been there, you can't really know how difficult it is. I'm not defending Charlie though, he's not being very classy about it, and keeps pointing fingers and making excuses for himself.
