Real Pro Wrestling was good in theory, but horrible in execution. The power meter was one of the dumbest ideas they had. The rules should have been easier to follow since there aren't a lot of mainstream fans that know the scoring system and rules of amateur wrestling, and they should have done something to set this apart visibly from college and amateur wrestling. At the very least I believe I would have been them in a ring since that's what fans would equate with pro wrestling.
yeah...i don't really get the power meter thing, really dumb. here's how i'd make the rules:
3x3 min rounds, scoring system remains the same as amateur
push-out: 1 point for opponent, he can either choose par tarre (amauter style, not the international start) or he could choose to keep on the feet
riding time: if wrestler A rides wresteler B for 1 minute, he is awarded a point and they are both put back on the feet (i think this would take away the boredom of par tarre)
Riding time would be a good idea. Where the power meters are, keep a clock moving showing how much they have used. However, I would put a limit on how long they could do it in any one stretch since a lot of fans would find that boring. (These are the same ones that boo in the UFC and Strikeforce when a fight goes to the ground...)
yeah, they really need to bring pro wrestling back, and just do it right. it sucks how they have to say "REAL pro wrestling" instead of just "pro wrestling"

No...I used to wrestle when I was younger. Every time I had to get in the proper position I felt gay...that was a really awkward position to be in...and I never understood why the person who came up with the sport thought of that exact position. Every time I was wrestling with another boy it just felt weird. I'd rather be wrestling naked women...and losing ;)

dude i hate it when people say real wrestling is gay, you dont even know how fucking hard it is. I wrestle at plank jr high and we are the most disciplined team at our school and we get worked the hardest. Today we fucking ran for 30 minutes non stop up and down the stairs and THEN sprinted then we had to go wrestle for 2 minutes with no fucking brakes then ran again for 30 minutes, wrestlers are fast, strong and have great endurance you have no idea man.
