  • Oh

  • Nice, im also doing this piece as part of my A Level Studies in music.

  • you are also beautiful

  • heeey good job :) what did you get for it :D

  • @nillypopnilly She didn't do the exam she just likes the song lol

  • @612curtis ohhhhhh okk :)

  • absolutely wonderful!

  • how long have youplayed piano? and how long have you been practising this particular piece? and how much piano practice do you do a day? :) sorry about all the questions im just curious because im playing this piece and its not as good as yours

  • @clairebeanbagchair Hi, when I played this piece, I had been playing for about 2 years. I practised it for about a month and about 30 mins a day. I was also playing 4 or 5 other pieces, so I couldn't give any one of them much time after school.

I started Harp in July 2008, and I now practise Harp for 3 hours a day and piano for 30 mins.

I wish you all the best with your playing

    Niina

  • Hi im 13 and I have just done grade 7 i remember doing this for grade 6, you play it very well but i think you should not play the notes so stacatto becuase it ruins it :(

  • @andymadden13 is that why your page says you're twenty ?

  • you continue to inspire me with this performance!

  • @reborn221 My teacher said that now they won't write for us we can add in anything we want , so she added pedal and "rit..." for my piece .

  • i beg u someone send me sheet music for this

  • WOW 5/5 :*

  • wow u had a harp too...

  • I played this for my Grade 6 exam... u did a good job! :)

  • @RoyaltyInPink Hey, so what did you pick for your first and third piece?

  • gd job duck

  • Next friday exam arhh..

  • carpediem076: actually the staccato u mention were not staccato but semi-staccato... :)

  • Hello...u R awesome!

    How old are you? :)

  • beautiful piece

  • can i play this for Grade 6 Trinity Guild hall 2010?

  • Man...your sound is so soothing...

My teacher just swiched my piece from B:3 Molto tranquillo, semplice to this...and i only got like a month to learn it...However the notes are really easy and the sequences are quite easy to catch onto...However the dynamic contrast is quite difficuilt to comprend...

However I feel your piece shows me the way foward to getting a DISTINCTION!!! XD

  • I you would like to see to touch mazeppa.

  • ho my god...cantabile...magnificente...You are very very good ... and very beautiful

  • Bravo, but you play too loudly in "p" or "pp"...

  • I like this ! :) ~ A problem I found out when I watched a documentary on pianists, is that a lot are missing out on the emotion of pieces even the most famous.

This is full of emotion! Really nice, cant wait till I get to grade 6

  • Well played :D Just curious, you said you weren't doing this piece in the exam - have you taken the exam yet and which pieces did you do? Yes it is a lovely melody as you say :)

  • @DebiMJ

Hello, no, I didn't take the exam. I learned about 6 pieces from the grade 6 book and am now working on some grade 7 & 8 pieces. I might take grade 8 when my teacher tells me I'm ready.

    Lizzie

  • where can i get the sheet music online for this

    ?

  • I meant "you need to be".

  • Staccatos are missing a lot. Try not to use pedal during those notes. And the last four parts are written in pianissimo so you be a lot more quiet than that and make it sound like the sound is dying away. But technically, well played.

  • @CarpeDiem076

I have just updated a newer version

  • @CarpeDiem076 There are no staccatos in the piece .

  • have you used pedal?

  • @cl111620

Yes I have, and I may upload what I think is a better version soon.

  • Bravo. You play very elegantly and you bring out the musical lines beautifully.

  • wow well done :D I love playing this piece :D it's really beautiful :)

  • Not bad.

  • it's really good

  • Great Playing

  • Comment removed

  • Beautifull played. Bravo!

  • WHat have you used to record the music?

It is so beautiful, I mean, your playing is absolutely fantastic and at the same time, there is very few interference.

  • It always boggles me on where to use the pedals. You play it really beautifully btw.

  • hehe, im doing this piece, thanks for this! i wanted to hear it played well:D

  • you played the melody very beautifully! try in B part( middle of first page), the right hand lighter and the left hand more in depth. and the second last chord of the piece, hold it till u play the last chord, better dont break these two chord : )

  • Completely what I was thinking!

  • lizzie are u using pedals?

  • Hi, Yes I am using pedals sometimes.

    Some people don't.

    Lizzie

  • Oh, my teach asked me to find out where the pedals are. :) god ure 14, im 14 but our difference is like, SO F**ing much.

  • WOW! i play piano but in grade 1

  • Wow, this is amazing! I cant do my grade 6 until Ive done grade 5 theory... :(

(and until Ive passed grade 5!)

    Your playing is beautiful. :)

  • Thank you very much Strawberry16x. It will all come to you in time, wish you the best in your study.

    Lizzie

  • I liked your emotions for this piece.

I'm going to take grade 6 exam next month.

    Any tips or suggestions?

  • Thanks for your comment.

Practise hard, enjoy the music. There is nothing to fear, the examiner is on your side. Try to sing the tune in your head or out loud while you practise.

  • thank you for posting this. i thought you played it beautifully. i suspect that your camera's microphone hasn't done it justice in the recording so far as the volume and dynamics are concerned but that is a very small detail :=)))

  • wow that was beautiful :)

  • Nice, but the left hand could have been brought out more in the second half of the piece. The dynamics were slightly lacking too. It's nice and steady though and I like it:)

  • Thanks for commenting.

  • thanks (:

  • did you use pedal for this?

  • Yes I did

    Lizzie

  • Your playing is absolutely beautiful!! You are such a brilliant pianist :) xx

  • It's kind of you to say so. I hope one day I can be.

    Lizzie

  • hi this is so nice- how long have you been playing i am form australia so our system is a bit different. i learned this piece too, i love how you play it! thanks for posting x

  • Thank you very much for your nice comment. I have been playing the piano for 1 year, and before that I was playing a little 5 octave keyboard (which you can see on some of my videos) for 2 years.

    Warmest Wishes

    Lizzie

  • i've just noticed the har behind you - do you play it?

  • Yes, I do play the harp. I started a year ago, and I'm absolutely loving it!

  • it's beautiful, lizzie.....

  • how old are you? great playing btw!

  • thank you, you are a reli talented nice person =)

  • wow ur reli good ^_^ i have to do this in concert tomrrow for year 8 prize giving assembly nd reli nervouss.. it is a pretty tune isnt it..

  • It is a lovely tune.

I'm sure you will do very well tomorrow.

I'll be thinking about you then.

    Lizzie

  • A sound interpretation Lizzie.

You brought the melody out well.. if anything try to have a bigger contrast in mood when you hit the arpeggio section...

    Hope your exam goes well

  • Thank you for your comment on this piece.

I have decided not to take any more exams until I am ready for grade 8.

At the moment I will just learn as much as I can.

    Lizzie

  • Hi, Lizzie..

    i done my exam! (;

    Damn nervous when i am waiting outside the exam room.. but the examiner very friendly, nice person.. most important that examiner is a guy! i am afraid about examiner, because i heard that lady examiner will be strict in giving marks.. (;

Hope to see your reply soon~

    Joanne'

  • Hi Joanne

Well done, I'm sure you did well.

I've never had a female examiner but I think it doesn't matter. They will be just as professional as a male.

I look forward to hearing the result

    Lizzie

  • Is it too slow??

    I think it is.

  • No, it's not too slow.

It might be too slow for you and it might be too fast for someone else.

It's how fast I wanted to play it.

    Lizzie

  • Nice! u play tat very well.. (;

I'm taking grade 6 this year on 7 July, and i will play this song "Adagio"..

exam coming very very soon!! "Nervous"

Since you said you will play some of the pieces, so did you play

"Clementi Rondo(allegro spiritoso): 2nd movement from sonatina in D, Op. 36 No. 6"?

  • I'm sure you will do well. Enjoy the pieces and don't think about the examiner. See yourself doing well.

I have played most of the pieces in the grade 6 book, but am in Japan at the moment for another 3 weeks without my piano and Harp! The agony.

Let me know how you felt about your pieces after July 7th.

    Lizzie.

  • hahax! its hard to distract from the examiner..

    so you are Japanese?

and you can play harp!! that's awesome!

    do you have facebook's account?

mine is Joanne Chong from Malaysia..

we can chat there. see you soon!

    =)

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice, im taking the exam XD

  • I wish you well for the exam, let me know how you got on.

    Lizzie

  • ya sure ty.

  • nice good ^^

  • Absolutely beautiful!! nice smile at the end too :-) hope my version sounds as nice as that!

  • NIcely played. The 'simple' stuff is the hardest

  • Hi

Although I'm not really qualified to judge your playing.

I would say that a bit slower (maybe between 2:45 and 3:15) with a little more emotion might be nice. All the notes are in the right place.

  • Extremely expressive. Thumbs up! :)

    Really enjoyed listening to it.

  • Thank you very much

  • that's amazing. really beautifully played. i followed it right through in my copy of the music and not a note wrong. but why did you hold the last note for longer than it says?

  • I'm happy you enjoyed my playing.

As for the last note; I prefer to hold it rather than ending abruptly.

    Lizzie

  • Cool , u sound alot mroe smoother then i ply , but i ply it little bit slower , hmm ur ending is no problem tat's how u suppose to end it , my teacher said so , hold the note n slowly lift off fingers 1st then only pedals , there no prob there =)

btw ur grade? lol n ur asian like me =)

  • Thank you for your comment.

I don't really know what grade I am now. I have stopped taking them. Normally if I take an exam I would practise a piece for about 6 weeks before the exam. Now I use that time to practise many different pieces.

    I play grade 5, 6,7 and 8 pieces.

  • wao since u can ply songs up to 8 most probably u should be grade 8 , but how come u stopped ?

  • Beautifully played! Well done. You are so so lucky to be able to play like that. I am only on grade 3 (and i'm finding it extremely difficult)!

Anyway, best wishes with all your future piano playing.

    x

  • Thank you. I love this tune, it's so relaxing!

Don't worry, everyone is grade 3 at some time. Enjoying your music is the most important thing.

    Best Wishes

    Lizzie

  • I play this song and it is very nice !

  • beautiful

  • That's really good!

  • Thank you for your kind words!

    I'm glad you like it.

    Lizzie

  • this helped a lot. thanks :)

    x

  • do you use the pedal in this?

  • Yes I did use a pedal in this piece.

I thought I might add some colour and decoration to it.

Thank you for leaving a comment.

    Lizzie

  • Lovely. Keep up the good work.

  • You play this very beautifully! It's a shame you're not taking the exam - you'd do well!!!! Well done :) I'm going to play this piece for my gradde 6 exam in November and it was lovely to hear you play it. What grade are you on (if you take grades)?

  • Thank you very much for your kind words.

It really is a lovely piece. I wish you all the best in your grade 6 exam.

I'm not sure what grade I am now, but at the moment, I play grade 5, 6 and 7 pieces. I want to explore as many different genres of music as possible during my progress rather than focus on exams. I'm planning to take grade 8 on piano and harp when I'm ready.

    Warmest Wishes

    Lizzie

  • Wow! you play so beautifuly! Do you play the harp also? Cassianna.

  • Hi Cassianna,

Thank you for your kind comment.

Yes I have been learning to play the Harp for 8 months now.

    Lizzie

  • Another beautiful performance!

  • Arigatou!! (thank you)

  • My sweet Lizzie, It's amazing the progress you made since you play the harp!!! Now, if you practice very hard the piano, I think you're going to make a lot of progress with the harp! The way you played that slow movement would have sounded splendidly on a concert piano.....

  • Thank you Patrick.

I went to the Steinway showroom up in London on Monday. They let me play on one of their pianos for 20 minutes. It was a great experience. I played this piece, ( Adagio), June and Columbine Sings. The sound it produced was TOTALLY different to my piano!!!

    Warmest Wishes,

    Lizzie

  • I love your piece...

    You play really well !!
