This song was written in 1915, not 1912, for Antonina Nezhadanova, she was a student at a conservatory in Moscow. When she said it was a pity there were no lyrics, Rachmaninov replied, “You don’t really need words to express the best in you."

Lovely. A little rushed in places, probably due to the very long breaths required. I prefer it slower and more calm from start to finish. Still, well done! Such a pretty voice!

Wonderful singing and a super piece of music.

This piece sounds good when you are alone in home. It isn't too good if you listen to it on concert, because there's too much noise and people's aura. I don't know but I like this version the most cause' It's played on grand piano, and I love singer's soft voice. I wish I could listen to it sitting by the lake in the night, listening to the sound of waves and nature.
