  • oh my bad i was just using shitty batteries lmao

  • :l i just got this for my D90 and I can't use it continually like you.. the recharge takes forever.

  • good job very nice review im waiting for mine to come soon

  • can i use this for a nikon d90? and if yes is it good enough to use it for INDOOR CONCERT? please let me know asap.

  • Does this flash tilt.. can you move it away from the subject... not sure if it does or not!!! ...

  • are you gay

  • your like a drug addict

  • Will it work with my Nikon D3100 ? Thanks.

  • @Alex1M6 Of course!

  • @thexdva Lol, I can not believe I asked such a noob question as I have learned quite abit about the Nikon DSLR system in the past 2 months.

I ended up getting the SB-600.

  • @Alex1M6 all dx cameras it'll work except film cameras but may also work on F6

  • you sound like a cowboy =]

  • I find it very hard to watch your videos with all the background noises!. It's enough to drive one NUTS!

  • continues flash?

  • where is this flash made? is it made in china? id like to get one but i made a vow never to buy electronics from china.

  • can you control the output power?

  • hello, does the flash shoots continuous with a nikon D40?

    Thx,

  • its pronounced NEEKON........

fuck you DO KNOW how much you offend my home country by mispronouncing words.

if nikon intended it to be pronounced that way they would have written it as NAIKON.

    its NEEKGON GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

  • haha know what you mean... well the americans will never learn it... by the way... germans can spell it.. cause we got another pronouncing for the i..

  • You say it can keep up with the D40 which is misleading.

Yes it will flash everytime you press the shutter but it takes at least 2.5s to fully recharge.

So if your inside and the flash is using nearly full power and you try to take another shot within the recharge time the photo will be dark.

  • I've a D40 and the standard 18-55mm lens kit. Someone told me I should have filter to protect the lens. Will this prevent the lens cap fitting on?

    Thanks

  • of course not lol all lens filters have a thing just like the lens. Its basically putting a clear lego block on top of a regular lego block :)

  • No the cap will still fit.

  • @rinnin no it wont, when you buy a lenn filter you put it right on top and then put the cap on to of the filter. it works great!

  • @rinnin nope. go to walmart and get the targus 52mm filter set for like 20 bucks. it comes with a uv filter and circular polarizer. you will love the polarizer :)

  • @rinnin It will still fit just right. Even though it depends on the design of the filter. I have some Sunpac filters which I use on my D3000 and the lens cap fits perfectly.

  • the d40 is better than the d5000 in the sense that it costs less money for what you get.. the d5000 costs around $250 more for 1.5 frames a second more and 6 more mp.. which you probably won't use unless you're printing a huge poster. and the sb400 flash is compatible with almost all the nikon DSLR's

  • Do u have the D5000? Because I do.. and I know it takes some amazing pictures! Its one of the best cameras I've have even own, and if u have the money its worth buying it. I can't say anything about the D40 that is why I dont judge it.

  • @DontBroadcstYourself the d5000 has a cmos sensor wich mean better low light shot at higher iso's, it has 11 AF points VS. the d40 3, and a better image processor sooo it is worth the extra cash. both D40 and D5000 are great cameras!

  • Just wondering.. Is the Nikon D40 good? I have a D5000 but i want to buy one for a friend as a gift. Thanks! and nice video!

  • I have a Nikon D40 and I can say I love that camera. I am not a professional photographer, but I am an enthusiast. That camera allows me to take more amazing pictures than I could ever hope to with a point and shoot camera. The D40, for it's cheaper cost is an incredible value. I do know a couple pros that swear by the d40. I've even dropped it a few times and it still works absolutely perfect. Totally recommend.

  • Alright bro that sounds cool! I needed to hear something good like this. I will order the D40 today. I know my friend will surely enjoy the camera! Thanks again for your recommendation.

  • @8XxMvMxX9 yeah the d40 is fantastic! ive seen amaaaazing photos taken with it.

  • alright. thanks man! I already bought it and gave it to my friend, and she loves it.. I've seen the pics and they are pretty good!

  • Is it compatible with a Nikon D60?

  • Comment removed

  • yes....... it DOES.

the D60 is virtually the D40/D40x with an EXPEED PROCESSOR. and anti dust function.

it will work on all nikon SLR's that have the standard hotshoe. and the ability to use CLS.

question why do you have a DSLR if you don't even know how the hell to use it

  • can you by it at bestbuy?

  • don't waste your money.

unless if you have to buy it in store, just buy it online. bestbuy could probably sell you one.

  • and would you recommmend it for a beginner?

  • yes

  • is it such a big deal since you cant rotate it side to side?

  • @904SF Best Buy only sells them online, they dont even have a Store pickup option for this product. I bought mine at Amazon

  • dude ur mad!!! Nice review though

  • Can you set it up on a tripod or anything?

  • Yea.

Through the Nikon flash cord. SC-17 I think?

  • Great review !! You made me decide to buy it and I am loving it !! Thanks...

p.s: Love your hair and you are soo cute!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you like the product!

  • whos the person who said "NIkon d40" in the background :P

  • ya i herd that to

  • Nice, kid

  • kid...you the man!

  • better review demo compare to shiny..... haha,, nice work kiddo....

  • Does it keep up with the D80

  • It will with fresh rechargables. However, this flash is absolutely terrible with alkaline batteries.

  • Get this flash first then if you feel need more feature, then look for higher model. Even if you decide to get higher models, you still find yourself carrying this model more often because of its portability.

With the speed of 1600, 6400 in newer camera, you don't really need higher priced flash when it comes to the power.

  • I have SB-23 and can't be used with DSLR except in manual in full power. I love the flash when it's used on a film camera.

I was delighted whenI found out the release of this flash. In my opinion, this is even better go-anywhere pocketable flash than SB-23.

  • I own this flash myself. Love it! Bounce flash for right at $100.00 can't be beat. And it travels well. I used it today outdoors for fill-flash work, and it did a perfect job.

  • Hey, your reviews are nice but try to be somewhere less noisier, or connect a microphone to the cam ;)

  • pretty good work there phototeen, though I think you may be better to shoot these inside (or with a mic) as the outside hiss was pretty overpowering. I'm still unsure whether to get this or the sb800

  • simple as this...

if will use a flash alot - SB-600

if you want to explore off camera flash - SB-800 and maybe a few SB-600's.

if you just want a flash that you won't use too much but will work when you need it - SB-400

    hoped that helped :]
