  • @NecessaryKnowledge That's just it though, you're not hearing a lisp; you're hearing the crackle of the speaker made by my ancient camera nearly anytime ANYONE made an "s" sound. Whether Joe Jack actually has a lisp (which I've never heard live even though I've seen him solo and the Dead Milkmen a bunch of times) is irrelevant. Don't be a jerk.

  • Dead Milkmen Or Die!

  • anyone know what key his harmonica is?

  • @wildboy420 proly B or C, C is the most comon harmonica key and since this song is like all on C B and G or sumthing, id guess one of those. proly C

  • MXPX did a KILLER cover of this great classic!

  • his voice still sounds good hear, this reminds me of my freshman year 89-90, i had the single on cassette

  • I missed his show in my town :***(

  • the anthem of our generation

  • taxi driver at 1:14

  • Still playing the same song for almost 20 years. Wow. He's dedicated.

  • @MrSethMusic everyone whose been playing for twenty years still plays some old songs. Paul McCartney still playing Beatles songs.

  • @toddish10 I know. I'm just saying that he really likes playing his song. Hes so good! :D

  • I saw him perform this at a little bar in Pensacola a few years back. It was pretty great.

  • He played an acoustic set in my town and hearing this live completed my life.

  • This song is a classic. I remember listening to this before I even had pimples.

  • whathever you people say about his voice he is a great singer

  • i love joe, i think he's hot and adorable, then and now!

  • Okay...his voice got like all old.......then it got like young again......this is why joe is awesome

  • he got so old... =(

  • cool. well done dude.

  • i luv him ^^

  • This song was shown in the game called

    " Tony Hawk's Project 8 " for the PSP

    And Its Awsome!

  • i was playin project 8 on my x-box 360 and i thought it was the best song there

  • its a classic punk song from the 80's way before the 360.

check out his old band "the dead milkmen"

  • I was so psyched when the DM had this "hit" and "regular" people go turned on to them and the video was in the top ten for a while I think.

  • It sounds like he has a speech impediment in this song. Not only that, he looks so old.

  • YEah, age happens. Get ready grasshopper.

  • I wish I knew what chords he was playing.

  • awsome wasnt he a member of rhe dead milkmen for a while

  • Pretty sure if you read the description of this video you'll find out.

  • for the whole while

  • money probaly ran out

  • hes not very old. no grey hair.

  • I love you for recording this

  • He plays high on the neck like Cash.

  • woah he's really old now

    sweet band...

  • He's not too old. He was 17 or 18 when the song came out.

  • ooohhhhh k

  • this was awesome, but its sad that the whole bands not there, makes it seem that hes the only left

  • 배경 필름 중간에 올드보이 최민식도 나오네!! there is korean actor Choi("Oldboy, 2003") on the middle of background film.

  • This song will be forever one of my favorite songs.

Also, I love how your camera MIC sorta makes him sound like that jewish dude on Family Guy.

    Great vid, 5 stars

  • you mean he sounds like woody allen

  • I know what woody allen sounds like and he sounds nothing like the way the audio is being picked up by the camera's mic. Sounds like Mort from family guy, i'm tellin' ya.

  • great lyrics... ...for some reason the song is kinda sad when played accoustically...

  • Dylan he ain't.

  • One of the best songs of all time. It's happy, sad, thoughtful, intelligent, profound in the way it semi-predicts Hot Topic culture... a song for the ages.

  • dude, u roc

  • the acoustic version makes me all sad for some reason

but i love joe jack talcum

    miss the dead milkmen =(

  • joe is my hero. alot of what i know comes from joe. good guy and amazing artist. sometimes life is good but sometimes life is bad.

  • fucking great

  • Imagine if Robert O'Neil was still alive what would he say.

  • i think u trippin, i thought ma dude was good, this is good as shit, lucky as hell for bein their

  • love this song and dmm and joe jack but this is kind of over the hill. the harmonica solo is a bit rough too. not like i could do better. just saying.

  • Yes, people do tend to age.

    It happens.

  • omg lucky!!

& no... it's "rich as the duke of earl".

  • Wow. You're really good man. You look, and even sound, just like that guy from the dead milkmen!

  • Uhhh, this IS Joe Jack Talcum from the Dead Milkmen!!!

  • This is AWESOME. And forget the hisses, for a self-shot video with a digital camera I think it looks and sounds pretty damn good. Thanks for posting.

    JW

  • Rich as the duke of earl....

  • Whoa, Joe Jack plays the same way as I do!... Or I should say I play the same as him! Haha

  • Holy shit! SWEET!

  • he says "just like the duke of earl", come'on guys...

  • He says rich as the duke of earl.

  • yes the "official" lyrics are "just like the duke of earl" which is posted on the official band website.

although in this version he does say "rich as.."

  • "her dad is the vice president

    something something Duke of Earl"

    what did he say?

  • Richer than the duke of earl

  • "Rich as the Duke of Earl"

  • "perchance the duke of earl" pretty sure.

  • wait, i thought Rodney Anonymous sang the studio version of Punk Rock Girl

  • nope

  • the disel boy version is also good

  • anyone know where i can find "girl hunt"? eh? inform me on it, please n thank ya.

  • The Smoking bananna peels ep

or the WE are 20 bootleg..but its live.

  • actually i'm watching an interview right now... i hear a lisp

  • Does he really have a lisp, or is he just an asshole?

  • Do you not read video information explaining why it sounds like he has a lisp, or are YOU illiterate?! ;P hahahaha!

  • In the version they made like forever ago he has a lisp too, soo... i think its not your camera

  • Ummm... dude... I was THERE, he doesn't have a lisp, not when he talks, and not when he sings; it IS my camera. He didn't have a lisp in any older version. Why would you argue with someone who was not only there, but took the video and knows his own camera enough to know that the mic is shoddy?

  • @stargate121

    lol

  • eat fudge bannana swirl

  • still sounds th esame..love this song

  • Everytime I listen to this song it reminds me of my girlfriend, and she knows it as well. It's our song.

  • When did he get a lisp?

  • He doesn't have a lisp, it's the crappy quality of the mic on my camera. I made a disclaimer about this in the video info! Read before you post! hahaha

  • do any of this fucking idiots read the title.

  • Did he obtiain a lisp somehow?

  • wait, is that THE Joe Jack Talcum?

  • That is indeed! He's playing at the indie movie theater I manage. It was a fantastic show

  • *agrees with people that want actual vid*

    but

*agrees with people who find acoustic shit awesome*

    ...this is cool!!

  • Wow, he still looks young. Sounds great.

  • me two

  • when ever i play THP8 i listen to this song only

  • eat fudge banana swirl.. mmm :P

  • lol how the hell is it possible to have an acoustic version?

  • Good stuff, just really hard S's! Funny hearing the acoustic version!

  • Why is the video for this song not on Youtube? C'mon

  • It USED to be on YouTube, but it got removed a while back...within the last month, I'd say.

  • "let's have a child,

    we'll name her Minnie Pearl"

  • the dead milkmen rule!

  • Joe Jack Talcum rules! I was at this show. I accually talked to him after his performance, and he is a pretty cool guy to talk to!

    Fango C

  • Dear God, I HAVE THAT SHIRT! :O
