Rest in peace....... Saw Tobruk mid eighties Oxford Penny Farthing (I think).... great band.... got the 7" single of "Falling" hence I found my way here.....great memories of a different time..... love to all........
A lovely tribute for a lovely human being .Beautiful inside and out .I remember Stuart well from school and after school ( when we grew up ) at the Kings arms .Always a true gentleman. We all knew and loved him . Sweet memories of a wonderful guy .X
Only recently heard of Snakes passing. I remember him in Tobruk when I used to see them in Brum. They deserved to be better known than they were. They should have been up there with Def Leppard and Bon Jovi but alas. He had one of those voices you knew was awsome and unique. He will be very sorely missed by all Brummie heavy metal fans who saw them in the early 80's. RIP mate!
Didn't know he wasn't with us any more, RIP Snake, remember seeing you with the Wildhearts at the Astoria in 1990 and thought Tobruk should have got more recognition than they did. Excellent singer and frontman
Am upset to find out he has left us,Tobruk deserved abit more recognition than they got,Wild on the run,falling,breakdown............R.I.P Stuart...God Bless You.......A Metal fan from 79'
Miss Stuart a lot, used to watch him at The Good Companions & Kings @ Kettering, he was a born showman. I remember I crashed at his and Sharons house one night when I was very worse for wear! Miss him, a real decent bloke that had time for everyone. Still use a bass flight case that he sold me all those years ago...good old days when there was a decent bandscene in Kettering.
This is such a shock to find out "Snake" is no longer with us.
Great live band, what a voice. We shared a realy great night with each other one winter evening in Glasgow 1988 after one his gigs with Tobruk, he picked me from the crowd and sang to me the whole evening......he was also a very respecful young man toward me at the tender age of 20......I will always remember him as a complete and utter gentleman...R.I.P Stuart.
Great Video - I new Stu very well, I was his musical partner from about 1988 till 1991. Still strange to think that he's gone but Thanks for the good times Stu. Love you and miss you. Vin xxx
Never knew the guy..but i saw Tobruk supporting Man O War at the Manchester Apollo and they were brilliant. What i could never get my head around was why "Wild on the Run" never got the attention it truly deserved...
have my "wild on the run" lp in front of me,i recognise all the kerrang clips that i had on my wall, never got to see them but that album was amazing, what a voice what a great band......really moving video
I was just searching for some bands i used to be really into back in the 80's and found this. I had no Idea Snake had passed away and I'm shocked. A truly talented man, one of a kind. RIP Stuart
When I watch this I cry. Snake gave us so much & it is tragic he left us when he had so much more to give. I first saw him on ECT with Tobruk & he was awesome.I saw him with Idol Rich & he basically was the band. The way he talked to audiences was so natural. A True legend down to Earth Guy who is so missed by us all. I'll see you soon Stu!
I met Stuart in 1982 one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, a true friend, somebody who comes around once in a lifetime, very special, think about you often my dear friend, love always. Kathy. xx
Only just learned of Stuarts death. I am stunned and shocked.
Myself and Stuart were resident musicians at Sticky Fingers bar in Puerto Del Carmen.
What a guy, what a vocalist. Stuart touched everyone's life that ever met him. I remember woman one remarking that she did not know if he was handsome or beautiful. One of a kind. Heartfelt commiserations to his family and all who new this amazing guy. I was lucky to have met and peformed with him
Wow. What a video.... Total respect for showing the video. Stuart lived in my home town and I am very privileged to have known him as a mate. My new wife and me & 2 of our friends went to a benefit gig here at a pub, which was organised also by Stuarts brother. We unfortunately missed the tribute to him at Wicksteed Park back in October as we were on honeymoon. He will always live on in our hearts, we love you always. Rock On Stuart my friend.
What a beautiful tribute to Snake. Whoever put this together you deserve a Trophy. Thank you. Tobruk's 'Wild On The Run' album is one of the few that have stayed with me since the 80's. Snake's voice was unique and made them stand out for me amongst their peers. What an awesome talent. You died too young. Thank you for the music Stuart. RIP.
This video had me crying from the second it came on screen! thanks for having this for us to see, thanks for all the hard work putting it together, may he never be forgotten, what an awesome guy! so young to be gone...warmly.
Very Sad, Tobruk still played regular by me-Happy Times...
