  • Hi are there any clown ally's in Philadelphia? If so how do i track them down?

  • john gacey

  • I need help. I try to do clown makeup, i'll apply the paint,t ehn power it to dry, but when i try to use my face paint crayons, it doesnt even smear, it just breaks and wipes the white away. Also, when i do, the white is ratehr blotchy and uneven. How many coats should i use? also, which is better? cream or grease? all i can get is the stuff at walmart for halloween.

  • Well designed clown, if you put her body in silhouette form it would stand out real well.

  • I like to know what stuff I have to buy, what brands,to to this m-up.I give you my WORD....this is the best tutorial I found on the net.Tks for your answer

  • Marilyn..... Great info on this Ruffles The Clown & white face makup application. Is this Ruffles the same as Estelle Ray whom was the first real Ruffles The Clown ? She was from Wilkerton, IN but I can't find any info on her or history. Any info on Estelle would be great or from any viewer whom might know the answer to my question. Just post here any info. Maybe Estelle has passed or maybe still alive. I have no further info on her... Thanks so much ! Alan

  • @Alank222 Hi Alan, Glad you liked the vid. And, no, this is not Estelle Ray. I am not sure who Estelle is as we are in Texas. Good luck to you in your search for Estelle.

  • im so screwed! i bought a water based palette 2 use on top of my grease clown white face paint. a man :'(

  • I am an Auguste Clown. Just started in February. Ive done probably 40 events now and its amazing. But i was using "Jim Howell" makeup and it isn't working out. After i powder and am ready to wash my face...My skin comes through the makeup? Not cool. But there's a shop in Ohio im going to and they have Mehron brand clown makeup. What's your opinion on Mehron Makeup. They also have Ben Nye which is what you use in this video... What do you recommend?

  • @polingjwj Hi there. I know you didn't ask me, but I read your comment and thought I give an input. I have used Mehron as well as Ben Nye. I have had great results with both. You can't go wrong with either brand. I like Ben Nye mostly because I like their products best. They have the best clown white and powders in my opinon. I hope I have been of some help. PLEASE get back to me. I love meeting other clowns. Thanks and good luck.

  • Thank you for this video. I used to clown with a big clown group in Jacksonville, Florida. I really enjoyed doing it, and would LOVE to get back into clowning. My character...Tittle E. Winks...is also a white face clown. Thank you again and best wishes.

  • good to see this done rather than reading about it

  • How was the white powder you used, called?

  • Hi Ruffles. I enjoyed your video here. I do clowning occasionally myself as a whiteface clown. I would love to interact with you if you are still active in clowning.

you mention competitions, could you show us a vid of you prepping 4 one?

  • Thank you! I really needed to know how to get that flawless white face for Halloween! You are a beautiful clown. Makeup and outfit is so cute.

  • Thank you, thank you very much!

  • Thank you.

    Marilyn

  • Such a cute clown!!!

  • I'll let Ruffles know. Thanks a bunch for stopping by.

  • Nice video. I dress as a member of the rock band KISS and I use the same technique to apply my makeup. I have a couple of questions. Eventhough I use a translucent powder for the colored makeup I still get that "toned down" look and wanted to know if you have any suggestions as how to prevent this. I have used a damp sponge to remove the excess powder but it does not really remove all of the excess. I then paint over the colors with Mehron liquid

    makeup to enrich the color.

  • Thanks so much! I checked with Ruffles and she says that powder does give you that matte look. There's not much that you can do about that.

  • thanks for posting! this was very cute! :D
