Miao is just a Chinese term for our people. You can be a proud Miao, but really....we are HMOOB.

It's ok to be called Miao. That is just the Mandarin Way of pronouncing Hmoob. It is the same as Americans calling us Hmong when it is actually pronounced Hmoob. Similarly, we call Han Chinese people "Suav" when they actually call themselves something different; and Americans call them Chinese too.

Hmong is just the American pronunciation of Hmoob (Miao, Meo). I noticed that you are either Laotian of Thai from you page. Most Miao people live in China, but we are also your close neighbors in Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. My parents are from Laos so we also use Laotian and Thai words when we speak.
