  • Great, and thanks. While I have no problem crediting musicians for contributions they have made, I can't see giving out songwriting credit for someone who merely contributed a very nice instrumental part to the song. Same as with the song here, "Truck Stop Woman", which I wrote with Henry Conley, but includes many fine musical contributors after the fact.

  • No, there are some songs that Henry (& myself) decided that Geno should get a songwriting credit on, but Little Homeless Clown was actually written without him, so to be accurate to credits should only read Will Dockery & Henry Conley as songwriters. Perhaps, as I wrote some time back: "...you have my permission to use the song & that I said for you to add his name to the credits as "Flute Arrangement by Geno Woolfolk" & there shouldn't be a problem! He hasn't even mentioned this to me!"

  • @WDockery

    Okay, Understand this perfect.

    Have it great, Will

    and keep in touch

  • Michael, I need to make a note with you that although Gene Woolfolk did contribute a great flute part to "Little Homeless Clown", he isn't on the songwriting credits for that one. The writers of that one are Henry Foster Conley & myself.

  • @WDockery

Okay, will put it back again later in mid of august.

Are you sure now that I shouldn´t credit Geno as

one of three songwriters only gives him extra credit

in the videotext for his instrumental role in the song.

I will do it when times come and my hopes we can

continue with another song next halfyear when I

    have freetime from my job.

    All the best

    Michael

  • Unofficial tally for Hogbottom 2011 is 700 paying guests, & over $9000 dollars collected for the House of Heroes, great day, great folks, & thanks to Davey and Tracy Pattillo for founding and hosting. Personal thanks to Henry Foster Conley, Geno Woolfolk, Jr., Basil Fitzpatrick, Sandy Madaris, Doug Conley, David Schwimmer & Derundo Jenkins who joined me as "Will Dockery & Friends"... I hope we can get another chance to perform together sometime soon.

  • Tell Geno that you have my permission to use the song & that I said for you to add his name to the credits as "Flute Arrangement by Geno Woolfolk" & there shouldn't be a problem! He hasn't even mentioned this to me!

  • Yes, Geno deserves a lot of credit for that flute riff of his on "Little Homeless Clown", as with the old Canned Heat records, or Jethro Tull & Marshall Tucker, the little flute riffs dfine the songs, & in many ways make the songs what they are. Impossible to concieve of them without it.

  • @WDockery

Will put it up in a close future, Will

    Good Luck for all concerts.
