i work at trader joes, and im only assigned to work in the box for the entire day and im hardly assigned to go do other things, but from 3:10 to 3:24, i feel the exact same way, when im jammed in an area for hours and see things move different around you from the outside, it tends to make my imagination run wild (but still working)
I saw this vid for the first time years ago and just had to re-watch it today. As a Ft'er I rarely get to go in the Box but as a Pt'er years ago I always loved it. It truly was a great escape from the monotony of day to day customer interactions. Good work. Don't eat to many of our blueberries ;)
Love the vid. Was a 4am'er/Boxman for a year and change - loved it. No human drama, in the cold, alone with your thoughts...choice. Echo your philosophical musings. Made a 12'x12 "Sistine Chapel" of images for employees to ponder above the milk stacks. Ranged from Banksy street art to scenes of falling cherry blossoms to Franz Kafka quotations to the Irish version of 'The Internationale'. Oh and an Inugami (for protection; the guy before me had a Virgin Mary). Hope all's well. Peace. #151
fire ur ass... things are tough enough without an overweening self-indulgent arse like yourself taking up air. You should quit and give your job to someone who cares.
Man, your livin' my dream. The creative outlet making your own vinette's that is,not workin' the box. I wrote a blues song with a verse about being in the box. You know what they say "some like it hot" :) jAR #699
boxer at 89 here. i really do like my time in there. being that this is Arizona and temps get to 110 on a daily basis, being in that cool, dark room makes the day so much easier and it leaves me with a really good feeling.
We put our smelly, unshaved, bloated employees into the box, reducing customer complaints but increasing foodborne illness risks. A Trader Joe's trade-off.
