@Liuyifeng19 Of all the comments I have responded to through the years of posting videos on Youtube, this one stands apart as the most ignorant and stupid of all of them. Being an obvious U.S. basher as you are, you have shown quite easily how little much you know about this war and how vital Americas part was in the war. I tell you what asshole.... go to France and ask them why it is they don't speak German today! Lets see how quickly one of them mentions Russia or China in the conversation.
One cannot compare our country today to that of then. It was once a God fearing country but no more. I would not consider giving my life or anyone elses anymore as I once did. And it breaks my heart..

I have many family members I have unfortantly never met. I know of one (there may be 2) of my great great uncles who were in pearl harbor when it was bombed.
Without trying to sound disrespectful my friend. Some of the veterans in this video are Pacific war vets. Did you not see the Marine's Iwo Jima Statue near the end??
It was because of your uncles that many downed American pilots were saved. I know the story well. They were in a group called "Tito's Partisans" and many of them wore German uniforms to throw off and confuse the Germans. The Partisans were very good at smuggling pilots across enemy held ground and back into Allied territory. They even saved some of the pilots from the famed Tuckaseegee Airmen. My hats off to your relatives for bravely taking care of our boys and fighting the Nazi's!
My grandfather was in WWII. He died and I wish I could've taken the time to talk to him about his service. I am dreading the day no more WWII vets will be alive.

:52 holy crap can u imagine sitting there 60 years later and looking at that same scene that u were at with a rifle and your men by ur side being shot at. jesus that is what i call some serious memories right there
it is true, because of the American propaganda people ``not so smart`` would say that the war was Germany vs. America, but America lost very little people in the second war and her economy was haveing no problem, but the economy in Europe was the most affected by the war, and this is how America managed to become one of the Big Powers of the world.
I think that if it wastn`t for UKs implication in the ww2, the war should have ended 200 days sooner than it had ended.
those 200 days would have left the germans enough time to discover the nuclear weapon, which could had changed the political map of Earth, and alos kill maybe another 10 milion people.Because, you know, the Germans needed just another 500 kilos or so of Uranium, and they could have made the fatal discovery.
To every soldier from every country who fought against the axis in this war: Thank you.
To every German, Italian, and Japanese people who saw through their leaders fanaticsm and fascism and did whatever they could to fight against their own leaders: You are the unsung heroes of this war. Glory to you.
lobby first the Filipino veterans for their benefits that the US promised to them,...The Filipino Guerillas were the one who fought side by side by the US during world war 2 here in asia pacific, especially here in the Phillipines...
lobby first the Filipino veterans, to have their benefits from the US..the US promised some benefits for all the guerillas who fought with them against the japanese invader here in the Philippines...
These guys make it hard for modern Soldiers to feel worthy, seeing Ike talk to boys from the 101 is awe inspiring. Seeing that these guys had the grit to challenge 3 nations in war they didnt know if they could win is amazing. Hooah.
It's comments like yours that make it all worth while. Tell your uncle Bill from me, "Thank you for your service and sacrifice for this country, that allows me my freedom today." I am a veterans advocate and you guys are the reason I post these. Jeff
Also shut the hell up on who did more than who, every country suffered massive loses fighting for there countries, INCLUDING the axis forces, have a little fucking respect instead of waving your dicks around saying whos better than you and who did more than who.
and just think, these are the men who today the government turn there backs on, these are the men Chavs kill for £5, these are the men we mock and laugh at in the shops.
these are the men who lost friends and died for you to have the freedom to laugh, and thats how todays generation treats them.
I hope todays generation suffers for everything they have ever done
Isn't it amazing how some people will turn anything into an argument?
Thanks for the heartfelt video, my dad lost his hearing in WW 2-he was a gunner on a Navy ship....so that we could have a free country to live in-and the freedom to say the stupidest things without fear of reprisal
Theres really no need for a pissing contest on which country did the most work. This video was created with many allied countries represented in it. All the allied countries did their part to win the war.
Sorry for the late response, been off the internet for a while. The song is from the soundtrack for the movie "Road to Perdition" with Tom Hanks. I felt it was fitting.
Feel lucky your parents and you are here because if it wasn't for these brave people none of us would be here. We came so close to loosing ww2 but these brave men gave there everything to defend their freedom. So remember always respect your country and your countrymen.
My father was a WWII vet and this is what I have been trying to explain to so many people and why we need to respect each and every vet, but the vets of WWII did not speak of their war much, they just did their job and came home. I hope many people watch this because you hit the nail right on the head!
I'm the great-grandaughter of a WW2 Navy Vetern. He died almost 2 months ago. He was 85. Never was sick nor had cancer. I miss him so. Thankyou for this video. God Bless, Erin
There is nothing that we will be able to do or say which will ever enable us to repay the dept that we owe to the men and women who served in the Allied armies who fought and died so that we could live in the world we live in to. We must never forget those who live and those who died. We shall never be as selfless or as great as those men and women. We must never forget.
I do not know where you live but will try to help if I can. This may not be easy to do since most of these men in any country are between their mid 80's and low 90's. Most do not use a PC and may have a hard time talking to people they dont know. I would encourage you to find a WWII veteran where you live. In your country. A face to face talk in respect would probably be best for you. I hope this helps.
I live in holland and I'm 33 years old. I 've visited a lot of places around the globe to see all the "hot spots". During those visits i spoke to some veterans but it was always too short! Maybe you know a site where u can get in contact with them. I think it will be very difficult because of their ages and that they are not familiar with the internet. thanks a lot anyway!!
every time i see old men around, i automatically think of their sacrifice and what they went through so we could live the way we do today, god bless our veterans.
I in turn respect your opinion. But will agree with you to disagree. I have no doubt that some allied soldiers committed atrocities in the war as well.
But that was mostly on a person to person basis and not as a group or military initiative. To say that some of the soldiers in my video have done such things is far fetched and not likely. As most allied soldiers were good men who went by geneva laws and obeyed command to not take innocent life. However there were exceptions. Fighting a war is not an atrocity. Killing the innocent, torturing enemy soldiers, and shooting P.O.W.'s are atrocities.
Atrocities means terrible acts against humans. Basically the SS divisions, some gestapo and anyone carrying out or giving orders to break geneva convention laws against citizens or soldiers.
I do respect those that fought for their country on each side. However this video was made to highlight the Allies efforts in WW2. The Germans were very disciplined though and were formiddable foes. A good many of them were and are honorable men who only fought for Germany. As for those that committed atrocities.....I will not honor them.
I sse no polish veterans :/ Civils including childrens & womens who fought with simple weapons like molotov's coctail versus tanks and machine guns and so on... Heroes live forever- Warsaw Upraising.
Sorry JakZloto. I could not please everyone but I tried. Many nations are included though. I love the story of the Warsaw Uprising's and have studied it thoroughly. I may do a seperate video for that when I get time.
My grandpa suffered from PTSD. He was traumatized and suffered greatly so he left the family. I met him once before he died. I understand. I feel sorry for him. My greatgrandpa served in WWI and I am happy to say I knew him before he died. Both men were wonderful. I miss them dearly.
We owe all who served in the allied forces through all wars more than just there thanks. What they gave up to free the world from dictators to invaders will never be forgotten. Well done
Thanks guys. Lets do remember to thank the veterans most of all. I met an ailing WW2 vet the other day. Such a nice man. Gracious and polite. I felt obligated to thank him for his service to the country. After I did, he started crying in his wheelchair and hugged me saying that that was the first time anyone had ever thanked him for it. After that I teared up also.
My mom volunteered in the VA hospital. The WWII vets always thanked her profusely. They were sweet. She thanked them for all they did. She thought it was odd that they were so thankful so someone pushing them in a wheelchair, but they were. They are thankful for the little things in life.
Russia did lose alot of people in WW2. Sadly though it was Stalin himself who did most of the killing. His quotas for death were on average about 5000 per day. And that was against his own people. The Russian war effort was only there when they had to to save their own bacon and take as much land as they could in the process.
Well...Believe what you want to believe. I'm American and Damn proud to know that my grandfather died in WW2 trying to keep Hitler from spreading tyrrany across the world. You can say what you want and say what you will you Commi prick, but America faught too.
Hey Jeff. Fantastic video. I liked it so much I embedded into my MySpace blog. Hope you don't mind. My grandpa was part of the Leyte invasion with MacArthur in '44.
Sure. No problem. I'm glad you like it. Since you mentioned Leyte, I thought I would mention I have a ring that was confiscated from a Kamakazi Pilot after he was shot down over Leyte. He was pulled on board the USS Franks and interigated. Leyte was a rough battle, your Grandfather was a brave man.
Wow! I got chills. Thanks for making this and telling me about it! I would love to put it on my website with credit to you if you'd like. I'm the guy that has the site ww2remembered com . Let me know if you'd like it added there. send me the original that is better quality than YouTube if you still have it and would like it added to my site with all credit given to you.
nicely done, I really liked the way you screenplayed your pictures, the music makes it still and intense. thats one of my fav veterans tribute. I got some great patriotic songs for your other WWII videos projects. dont hesitate to ask me ;)
Thank you both for the kind remarks. WW2 makes up a large part of my families background and permeates through the generations. My grandfather fought in WW2 along with his 8 other brothers. Half of them lost their lives in various parts of the war. I am going to post a video soon to represent their lives and efforts. I hope if nothing else this video will help others to see the bridge between the men in those black and white shots and the elderly gentlemen we have today.
Wow. A beautiful piece of work, Jeff. Thought the shots of the D-day troops fading into the pics of the veterans was brilliantly done....don't mind admitting it gave me a lump in my throat. Well done , sir.
Jeff .... this is beautiful. And you were right. Thank you for leading me to it. My father's birthday was yesterday. He died in 98. I am STILL looking for ways to understand what it was like for him. And there are only so many doorways IN. Most don't lead deep enough. But your video touched sincerely.

it is true, because of the American propaganda people ``not so smart`` would say that the war was Germany vs. America, but America lost very little people in the second war and her economy was haveing no problem, but the economy in Europe was the most affected by the war, and this is how America managed to become one of the Big Powers of the world.
I think that if it wastn`t for UKs implication in the ww2, the war should have ended 200 days sooner than it had ended.
donisalexandruu 2 years ago
those 200 days would have left the germans enough time to discover the nuclear weapon, which could had changed the political map of Earth, and alos kill maybe another 10 milion people.Because, you know, the Germans needed just another 500 kilos or so of Uranium, and they could have made the fatal discovery.
donisalexandruu 2 years ago
They did have enough uramium, but we destroyed their heavy water supply. so they could not have made the bomb.
BUNDESWHERGENERAL 2 years ago
I do not belive so, I checked again and it said that there was not enough uranium for the tests and the bomb itself

imagine all the terrible things these guys witnessed..crazy

Chance2345 3 years ago 3
and just think, these are the men who today the government turn there backs on, these are the men Chavs kill for £5, these are the men we mock and laugh at in the shops.
these are the men who lost friends and died for you to have the freedom to laugh, and thats how todays generation treats them.
I hope todays generation suffers for everything they have ever done
Chance2345 3 years ago

True heroes all.
This is why we shouldn't throw away our freedom.
Your parents wont give you that extra £20?
Feel lucky your parents and you are here because if it wasn't for these brave people none of us would be here. We came so close to loosing ww2 but these brave men gave there everything to defend their freedom. So remember always respect your country and your countrymen.

My father was a WWII vet and this is what I have been trying to explain to so many people and why we need to respect each and every vet, but the vets of WWII did not speak of their war much, they just did their job and came home. I hope many people watch this because you hit the nail right on the head!
Thank you! I know my Dad would appreciate it.

There is nothing that we will be able to do or say which will ever enable us to repay the dept that we owe to the men and women who served in the Allied armies who fought and died so that we could live in the world we live in to. We must never forget those who live and those who died. We shall never be as selfless or as great as those men and women. We must never forget.

hello,
Does anyone know how to come in contact with WOII veterans. I have so much questions i would like to ask!! Thank you.
krzholland 4 years ago
I do not know where you live but will try to help if I can. This may not be easy to do since most of these men in any country are between their mid 80's and low 90's. Most do not use a PC and may have a hard time talking to people they dont know. I would encourage you to find a WWII veteran where you live. In your country. A face to face talk in respect would probably be best for you. I hope this helps.

I live in holland and I'm 33 years old. I 've visited a lot of places around the globe to see all the "hot spots". During those visits i spoke to some veterans but it was always too short! Maybe you know a site where u can get in contact with them. I think it will be very difficult because of their ages and that they are not familiar with the internet. thanks a lot anyway!!
krzholland 4 years ago
every time i see old men around, i automatically think of their sacrifice and what they went through so we could live the way we do today, god bless our veterans.

You have a great day too sir.
hxcjeff 4 years ago
I in turn respect your opinion. But will agree with you to disagree. I have no doubt that some allied soldiers committed atrocities in the war as well.
hxcjeff 4 years ago
But that was mostly on a person to person basis and not as a group or military initiative. To say that some of the soldiers in my video have done such things is far fetched and not likely. As most allied soldiers were good men who went by geneva laws and obeyed command to not take innocent life. However there were exceptions. Fighting a war is not an atrocity. Killing the innocent, torturing enemy soldiers, and shooting P.O.W.'s are atrocities.
hxcjeff 4 years ago
Atrocities means terrible acts against humans. Basically the SS divisions, some gestapo and anyone carrying out or giving orders to break geneva convention laws against citizens or soldiers.
hxcjeff 4 years ago
there were 2million plus SS men serving at the peak of the war.
animalchn 4 years ago
I do respect those that fought for their country on each side. However this video was made to highlight the Allies efforts in WW2. The Germans were very disciplined though and were formiddable foes. A good many of them were and are honorable men who only fought for Germany. As for those that committed atrocities.....I will not honor them.

My grandpa suffered from PTSD. He was traumatized and suffered greatly so he left the family. I met him once before he died. I understand. I feel sorry for him. My greatgrandpa served in WWI and I am happy to say I knew him before he died. Both men were wonderful. I miss them dearly.

After that I teared up also.
hxcjeff 5 years ago
My mom volunteered in the VA hospital. The WWII vets always thanked her profusely. They were sweet. She thanked them for all they did. She thought it was odd that they were so thankful so someone pushing them in a wheelchair, but they were. They are thankful for the little things in life.

Russia did lose alot of people in WW2. Sadly though it was Stalin himself who did most of the killing. His quotas for death were on average about 5000 per day. And that was against his own people. The Russian war effort was only there when they had to to save their own bacon and take as much land as they could in the process.
hxcjeff 5 years ago
Well...Believe what you want to believe. I'm American and Damn proud to know that my grandfather died in WW2 trying to keep Hitler from spreading tyrrany across the world. You can say what you want and say what you will you Commi prick, but America faught too.
MelancholyChrist 5 years ago
LoL, americans still thinks that it was them who won WW2. The fact is: it was Soviet Army.
26 millions of russians died to save this world from Hitler. Of course you never heard about it. What a shame.

Hey Jeff. Fantastic video. I liked it so much I embedded into my MySpace blog. Hope you don't mind. My grandpa was part of the Leyte invasion with MacArthur in '44.
belong1972 5 years ago
Sure.

Thank you both for the kind remarks. WW2 makes up a large part of my families background and permeates through the generations. My grandfather fought in WW2 along with his 8 other brothers. Half of them lost their lives in various parts of the war. I am going to post a video soon to represent their lives and efforts. I hope if nothing else this video will help others to see the bridge between the men in those black and white shots and the elderly gentlemen we have today.
hxcjeff 5 years ago
Wow. A beautiful piece of work, Jeff. Thought the shots of the D-day troops fading into the pics of the veterans was brilliantly done....don't mind admitting it gave me a lump in my throat. Well done , sir.
droog69 5 years ago
Jeff .... this is beautiful. And you were right. Thank you for leading me to it. My father's birthday was yesterday. He died in 98. I am STILL looking for ways to understand what it was like for him. And there are only so many doorways IN. Most don't lead deep enough. But your video touched sincerely.
Thank you.
With good wishes ~
