@08WRX : No SASR's muzzle flash and gas expulsion does NOT look like that. Also the SASR does not shoot a .50 round. And only a .50 round can make a sweet sweet sound like that
@dalligator Correction, the Barret M82 is a heavy SASR, read the first paragraph of 'Barret M82' on Wikipedia. And I quote: "The M82 is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle developed by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing company. A heavy SASR (Special Application Scoped Rifle), it is used by many units and armies around the world."
The Barret isn't a sniper rifle. It doesn't meet the requirements. It is a SASR, Special Application Scoped Rifle, used by snipers. An effective weapon nonetheless.
@Jerfanian i go bear hunting because there's more and more bear every year, ever since they quit hound hunting them there is way more every year, and to be honest i hunt in the first place cause its fun. but i'm not one of those assholes who just takes a trophy and leaves, we take all the meat we can, and we use the hide. I bowhunt mostly but with bear we sometimes carry a .300 or a British .303
Why dont they use the 338 allen magnum it is by far the best long range rifle on this planet its better than the 408 cheytack by far it shoots a 300 gr bullet at 3500 fps and people shot them at my local range in wyoming at 3600 yards accuratly and yes i said 3600 yards.
why dont they just use .300's? i use a .300 for bear hunting, its got great accuracy, plenty of knockdown power, and its flat shooting. perfect gun if you ask me. (it fucks up too much meat for deer hunting and whatnot, but in this case fucked up=good)
@LoneSniperFox It depends. If you are not in a sand and dust, this sniper rifle is almost undetectable because the flash suppressor hides almost all the muzzle flash. It's just extremely fucking loud.
@BloodstainedSinner Also, I would prefer this in a counter-sniper situation. Fast rate of fire, and a caliber that can punch. If you miss the first shot and spook the target, start shooting through the fucking wall.
@LoneSniperFox the casing part does not really matter but the rest i agree rifles are alot more comfortable to me and there far more accurate and can take hotter loads and just i like the feel of a bolt action rifle
@MrDip02 well if you're on a mission where a slight movement will give you away. it is definitely worth letting out your shell casing slowly and pocketing it. Or would you rather have it fly out of your weapon and produce a glint for an enemy observer to see? I ono. just what my instructor taught me. You can dismiss it if you want.
and yeah I love bolt actions. Feels "official" you know?
@LoneSniperFox come to think of it if it's sunny the light can possibly reflect off so you can slowly open the bolt and cover your hand over to grab when the casing is extracted yeah yeah ok and not to mention if the semi automatic rifle is a push feed instead of control feed you can double load and jamming is SOOOO annoying and yeah feels good and like you have power and durability and bolt rifles are more sturdy built

Nice video, question have you ever used the ATragMM software with the Mk13? I am trying to find out how to use the accuracy first option. Any clue what is for?
@INSANEGUITARIST101 Yeah, a range of 2000+ yards, very little recoil for such a powerful round, and battle-proven-ness all over the world makes this a terrible rifle.
The words you are looking for are: inaccuracy and immobile.
I any case tho.. I disagree with your uninformed, uneducated, unsatisfactory, unacceptable, unfounded, unaccounted, undisciplined and unappreciative rhetoric towards the Barret and it's alleged unsuitability in long distance engagement, it's unsubtle sound signature and it's annoyingly unyielding yet understandable inability to magically transform into a small light firearm.
@INSANEGUITARIST101 Inaccurate? Crappy range? Are you a fucking moron? This rifle shoots EASY two miles. Most smaller caliber sniper rifles are only 1 mile MAX effective range. Hell, the longest SNIPER RIFLE kill shot was with a barrett 50 calber M82a1 And not too much recoil. The barrel has a giant spring at the back end of it, and like a tank, it slides in when you fire. Ontop of that, the butt pad is like two inches thick. It is like shooting a 30-06.
@BloodstainedSinner There are better rifles for that. A $35k variant of the British L96, chambered for the venerable .338 magnum, holds the NEW record for distance. The .50 cal I believe you're thinking about is the McMillan Tac50, which unlike the Barret is accuratized enough to hit at that long range.
@BloodstainedSinner ok easily its 1.5 moa you know what that means that means you're going to at most make a 32+ inch groupings at 2 miles most rifles are 7.62x51mm NATO and those are effective at 1300 yards and that is EXTREMELY difficult to hit a target at that range 1 mile is 1760 yards the "longest" kill you're talking about is with the mcmillian tac .50 and you never shot a gun it has MASSIVE recoil but with all that shits it's reduced to becoming manageable
@BloodstainedSinner lol, so that's why the Americans paid the British to build them an effective 50.cal sniper rifle. accuracy international as50 can out range a barret, more accurate than a bolt action sniper and barely any recoil in comparison. learn your guns. cod addict.
@INSANEGUITARIST101 It outranges the M82? That's why it's effective range is 1,500m compared to the M82's 1,800m? The AS50 is also slightly less accurate at 1.5 MOA compared to the M82's sub-MOA with match ammo. Also, we didn't pay the British to build the AS50. The AS50 is a joint project between USSPECOPS and Accuracy International, designed specifically for the SEALs.
@INSANEGUITARIST101 ok you're fucking retarded it's not terribly inaccurate 1.5 is not terrible but it's a fucking 50 bmg what do expect and 4 miles is shitty range? dumbass the recoil is not that much because one the recoil pad to the muzzle brake three the bi pod takes away a little and prone takes away some to to loud you're 1000 yards away shooting at people mostly likely in the heat of battle barely hearing there friend next to him your fucking stupid there is gun shots
I want to actually see a Taliban in a vid :(

You trade recoil and mobility for heavy firepower sometimes though. If you want to disable a vehicle the 50 cal. would be my choice

@BloodstainedSinner I wouldn't. I prefer a bolt action sniper rifle.
a. no chance of it jamming
b. every bullet counts
c. pick up your shell casing after a shot. leave no trace.
d. not as bulky
e. easier to carry around
I could do the whole alphabet here.
