@sincerelady777 This would be a great song for Haley, and I'd love to see her do this (and I'm fearing she'll choose "I'm a Woman" instead-- which I don't think she can pull off).
@divebobber Based on her prior performances, I think Haley would have a hard time with the fast-yet-annunciated lyric delivery required to pull off "I'm a Woman" and she is much more appealing when she shows emotion and vulnerability (as opposed to trying to be sexy or dominating). IMHO, her best performance to date was "House of the Rising Sun" which was neither fast nor sung from an "I'm tough/sexy" point of view -- hence my doubts about "I'm a Woman" being a good song choice for her.
I don't think he nails it as I expected he would when I found he had recorded it: a pity as this song is one of those he easily makes his own. Even the arrangement doesn't help: too unimaginative.
@greatbighand yes it's the traditional arrangement, but that's appropriate. Nothing to get in the way of Joe Cocker's true power of emotion and virtuoso singing. IMO.
Hailee from American Idol needs to do this song next week. She'd slay it!
