  • So the amazing trick that cuts down prep time in making a lattice weave... is not weaving... :/

  • She lost me at "refrigerated pie crust". Store bought? Really?

  • @TheGoldWatch She is a Pillsbury rep. This works with your own homemade crust, too, though!

  • Pie looks like crap.

Word of advice to anyone reading, use a damn egg wash. It makes your pie look 10x better.

  • Omg that other bitch is so stupid

  • I've been really wanting to try this method.

  • The best way to weave a pie that I've found is to lay out all the strips going one way, then lift alternating strips back half-way, lay down a cross piece, return the folded strips and lift their neighbors back half-way, and so on. When done with one side, do the same for the other. It's much faster and easier to weave the strips this way than the way shown in this video.

  • i saw a recipe where you just fold them all up its easier.... it looked crap in the end on this video

  • Luckily Howdini will overthrow Expert Village fast.

  • Always remember to roll under the edge.

  • I feel like im watching Liv and Laurie from the cake videos, and again, you can tell these 2 people hate eachother, trolol :L

  • Lesbians!

  • @TheTakeMan007 what can't they do <3

  • @TheTakeMan007 Give this man a medal!

  • @petujaymz

    Intelligence at it's finest.

  • Its way better if USE BACON WEAVE !

  • that other way is good :) thank you that might get me a gcse :)

  • im watching this at midnite cuz i have nothing more to watch...

  • @woshiassassin OMG ITS EXACTLY 12;00, i feel you

  • lol I like how they treat it like its a secret tip, DUH of corse if you just pile em on top it'll be easier and quicker!

  • If you want to throw togehter a nice pie very quickly, I think readymade pie crust is really good. Unfortunately in my country I don't have that option. But the same principle is with puff pastry - there are good quality ones available in store. .but if i have the time and want to make something special: I do my own.

  • Go back in the kitch...Wait wut?

  • omg i <3 pie!

  • Definitely going to do the second one

  • thumbs up if you typed in pie cuz u were bored!

  • The second way is so half-assed. If you're going to do the lattice, I say go all the way. :)

  • thumbs up if you are on youtube now :D

  • @cataremix15 lame .

  • Pissed off about howdini using pre-made crust? Write them and demand your money back! oh wait, this is a free site and a free video...

  • After making a huge mess out of trying to make my own crust, I found this video. Bought the Pillsbury sheets and for the FIRST TIME was able to make a lattice work crust that turned out okay. I followed the video exactly and everyone was impressed with my crust!

  • always wondered how to do this and now i know! :)

  • Got it. Thank you for the lesson.

  • see why we've had two world wars already? we have to find a video about making PIE and fight over it. pie. thats just pathetic. on every video on you tube, some idiot will have to find a fault in something...

    anyhow...

    very informative video. thank you

  • i like pie

  • well, IIIII think this video was VERY helpful. I'm making a pie for my boyfriend and one to stay at my house and this is my very first time making pie. (I made the crust last night!) and this is a really good demonstration.

  • Hecka cheesy acting. Lol i was crackin up!:)

  • I want that magic oven!!!

  • yay Imma go make a tart!

  • where can I buy that refrigerated pie crust?

  • @megakid18 Usually in the cheese/milk/cookie dough section of the grocery market...

  • @megakid18 It's in the section of the grocery store where Pillsbury biscuits, rolls, and cookies are. I found it at both Wal-Mart and Kroger. It's a little under $3 here and there are two crusts in the box.

  • CAN I MAKE THE SAME RECIPE IN A MICROWAVE. PLEASE REPLY

  • @ebenezersamuel yes you can! but you will have to eat it like a soup.. :D

  • THATS THE LAST NAME OF THE GUY THAT KILLED JOHN LENNON!!!!!!!!! >0

  • EXCELLENT

  • can you have a lattice top pie crust for a pecan pie???

  • @glitterlover03 No...traditionally pecan pies are a 1-crust pie. No top. Fruit pies are the only ones that have a top crust.

  • @glitterlover03 NO!! Are you nuts?! the pecans will pop out of the holes and destroy the frikin omen :O

  • Good lord its pie crust, how in the world can someone argue with someone else over what kind of pie crust they like? egads

  • wow this looks complicated

  • do you have to crimp

  • haha i like how she asked quetions that were oviosly scripted

  • refrigerated pie crust ?.. of course everything nowadays is unnatural.. Take some eggs, flour and whatever else you need and make the damn crust yourself ..bitch..

  • @WWPSdvia Store-bought flour and ingredients? Sad pathetic bitch... grow your own food and then use that, ur pathetic

  • @TheBigStupidHead Well my grandparents have wheat fields on their farm here in Europe and they transform it into flour .so i guess i have all natural stuff .and everything we use here in Europe is organic, since we grow our fruits and vegetables in garden, at least that what I do and so many other people.. i think you are the sad pathetic bitch, cause you probably go to Walmart to buy a mix up ingredients for cake that you simply bake and put fruit on it.i bed that is why ur so fat ;)im healthy

  • @WWPSdvia WRONG - you need to find your own seeds, create your own land, plow your own land, etc.

  • @WWPSdvia Someone's a bit of a troll.

If you're so uptight about pre-made things, how about you make a video on how to cook something?

Before start trolling me as some kind of fail cook, i just made a pork belly and beef mince ragu with sundried and vine tomato compote and white truffle oil.

  • its not about how it looks... but how it tastes.. i don't give a shit if u make pretty patterns... make ure own pie crust. if u want a good pie! also wtf is this ? did u just pour jam into ure pie !? ewww

  • Im just watching this because I like pie.

  • @mousedrag Im just watching this because I'm eating pie.

  • Here's an idea. Instead of making a lattice pie, I'll just go to Costco and buy one already made lol.

    Their pies are awesome =D

  • tak sedap.

  • @dollah43 ROFL

  • menopause people

  • Comment removed

  • is it just me or was this the lamest how to ever???

  • actually i love a handmade crust better than the instant one..

  • @lora0494 who doesnt :)

  • I had never seen the simple version before. I just made a traditional lattice pie last week. Some think that it must take a long time to do this. I managed several restaurants over the years and know how important presentation.

  • I think the second one looked kind of sloppy, but as long as it tastes good...who cares? heh

  • this is not the proper or easiest way to make weave the lattice. watch the youtube video of a 13yr old boy do it.

  • Huh, I just bought that exact pie crust. It better turn out like this. lol

  • Lauren Chapman? MY NAMES LAURA CHAPMAN freakie...

  • my pie looked wonderful!i tried to make it look special for a birhday and it looked totally perfect.

  • I did the second version of this to my apple pie and it turned out wonderful! I think the second (easier) version looks just as nice and takes far less time. Maybe the first would be okay for a special occasion, but otherwise I would recommend version 2.

    Thanks! :)

  • can i put something personal in? i saw it in a movie XD

  • This is a traditional German Bavarian Apple pie.

  • but you must first invent the universe.

  • She didn't put egg wash on it. It's always a nice finish to put egg wash on it and sprinkle some sugar or cinnamon sugar on top.

  • Can u have a lattice top pie crust for apple pie?

  • what? of course you can have a lattice top for any type of pie it is up to you

  • I have put a lattice crust over a plain lemon pie and a pumpkin pie to, put it over anything you want, if you have the patience!

  • @melz4ever10 yes you can do it for apple pie

  • @melz4ever10 yes i made one like this yesterday on an apple pie ;)

  • @melz4ever10 You can lattice any pie that has a top crust :)

  • @melz4ever10 yes

  • @TheRANDOMKid9 thank you! =]

  • @CinCinLei no prob!

  • @melz4ever10 Yes. I made an apple pie a week ago with the lattice top. My young niece did the lattice though.... fun to have a young one do that part if you're lazy.

  • @SpikeNRoxi Hi! Is it possible you can use the lattice top crust for blueberry pies?

  • @sweethollywood123 Yes it is!

  • @melz4ever10 no.. the apples will explode because of the steam overwhelming from the huge holes XD

  • @melz4ever10 no...the world will end if you do....

  • @melz4ever10 Hi, yes you can, dutch apple pie is the best!

  • The weaved one looks really nice thumbs upfor dat one

  • that lady in the yellow is a dummy

  • LOL Yeah, shes "a few fries short of a happy meal"

  • one thing I dont rly like about this part of the howdini(the ppl) is b/c they use premade stuff, not from scratch

  • NOT a fan of the pre-made pie crust. To me, it has no flavor. Yick. However, this was educational, so thumbs up for that part. And a little tip to those who say they dont have enough time to bake a home made pie crust, make the dough the night before, then just take it out and roll the day you want it. Takes not even ten minutes to make it. ;] That's usually what I do, cause between school and work, I have little time as well.

  • i noticed that the lattice top on the finished product isn't really woven.

  • "And in the tradition of cooking on camera, I have this" lol priceless. those came out beautifully! but the cherries kinda spilled out of the bked one eh

  • how about THANKS FOR THE DEMONSTRATION :)

  • jeez people do u hav to be so rude?! im sure they know how to make they're own pie crust and if they had time they would. but no one wants to watch a 15 min video because they have to make a pie crust from scratch. also shes from pilsbury so shes just promoting their products. lay off!

  • @BoomBamnBaby, its supposed to be how to MAKE A PIE not HOW TO USE a bought pie...

  • @BoomBamnBaby , its supossed to be HOW TO MAKE a pie not HOW TO USE a bought pie crust...

  • @supernanchita No, it's how to make a "lattice top" pie crust, meaning how to make the design not the actual recipe for crust. Plus there are plenty of recipes/videos out there on how to make pie crusts. As a matter of fact, Howdini actually has one.

  • @BoomBamnBaby My grandmother made her own crust for years. She switched to the Pilsbury dough because it was "just as good and 10x easier". Some people are just rude, I guess.

  • @crookshanks151 They are!

  • @BoomBamnBaby *their

  • @channyandseddiefan Sorry.

If you didn't notice though, my grammar in that whole comment is really bad. After reading everyone else's comments about the video, I got really frustrated and tried to type my thoughts as quickly as I could so I wouldn't forget. Hence the "u" "hav" and non capitalized letters....

  • @channyandseddiefan

you, sir, win an internet point.

  • @TacoSusio Miss, and thank you very much.

  • Wow look at you two lovely "ladies" coming to Youtube and while watching "instructional videos" choose to alienate those who are actually here to learn something...very classy. You know who you are. SMH

  • ...pre-made refrigerated pastry, tinned sugary pre-made filling... Can no-one make ANYTHING themselves any more?!

You should be ashamed to call this "baking"!

  • u r perfectly right ... i dont know why people buy ready made things n call them that ohhh i baked that lolzzz. .. but i love to make things from scrach...i like ur comment...tashi...

  • you have time for that in your life. good for you. some of us don't with two jobs in an economy that is crushing people so when with what little time i have i want to do something special for the kids and hubby i can....because of time savers like this.

dont be so quick to judge

  • It's not baking. It's 'heating'. Not to mention that their technique is horrible and they're only doing the video to promote more fattening 'lazy' products.

  • arnt they just soooo happy :D

  • Um, no. First, you start off with HOMEMADE pie crust.

  • Right! Home made pie crust only takes about 10 minutes (or less) to make....

  • 10 minutes if you're half asleep, nearly blind and reading from a recipe....

I dunno why people buy so many heart clogging 'timesaver' foods. Try staying off your ass and away from the TV for ten minutes....

  • can you do that type of crust for apple pie? or any other pie?

  • i guess u can

  • Thank you for showing me...I have always wondered how difficult it was to weave the pie dough! I just do it the second way you did it..but, either way..the pie should taste fantastic! *smiles*
