Here are the comments from the liner notes for the original version on 'History of My Heart' from 1989: "This piece is based on Respighi's 'Notturno' which I played as a child. It was also inspired by the natural beauty of Inverness, California." I like the original a little better than this stripped down version.

Many thanks for posting this video!! I really love this piece... I do remember when I saw it a couple of years ago on ARTS channel.
Despite its harmony is not so much complex the reflexive beauty, peace and freedom are so comforty and clear the mind.
