  • Thanks for this, our dog was put a sleep on the 27th of august and had the same white and blue spiked ball as Rommel. Dobbies are a breed for life. thx

  • @Dennisd80 No problems :) Our boy loved those stupid balls! Sorry to hear about your dobe.

  • Rommel reminds me of my dobe zak who died june 16th 2011, I keep playing your video and I love the bit when they sing "and your little chocolate eyes" I miss my dog so much. Zak was from the Krieger line of dobes and had the same markings on his front paws as Rommel. He was born in Ayrshire in Scotland and his home with me was Hamilton Scotland and he had a wonderful life until he died age 9yrs of dilated cardio myopathy . Your video warms my heart. god bless.

  • @kpzcbttp Rommel was from a European line of dobes, but not from the British Isles... More eastern Europe. He was technically my brother's dog, which is why I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

I'm so glad people are enjoying the video, and I'm glad I made it in '05. Don't think I could've made it when he died.

I'm glad you like the video so much, and sorry to hear that you've lost your friend Zak. All the best xo

  • @TheInterspeed That is an excellent idea :)

  • Very clever video & your Doberman is adorable. What song is that?

  • @TobyzMama

It's called "Dogs are the best people" by a band called The Fauves. They are an Australian Band. Thank you for the compliment re the video. I think my daughter did a fabulous job too matching the action to the words. I love it all the more since we lost Rommel but the best thing was that it was made years ago before when he was in his prime. It helps me forget the last week of his life and how sick he got.

  • Very clever video & your Doberman is adorable.

  • No 197, the pain doesn't leave but it lessens compared to the funny memories. We still miss Rommel very much but we now recall funny instances more easily. Like the time he picked up the lit Dolphin torch and ran around the backyard. I switched the lights out and all you could see was the torchlight bouncing around the backyard. I'm glad the video makes you smile. It makes me do the same. Rom was cremated and sits near the side door where he always waited to greet us when we came home. :-) "Mum"

  • Thank you for this i just had to put down my dob,she was my best friend,im a mess without her.

  • It's so hard, they're amazing dogs. It was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. Mine and my family's thoughts are with you. It's so hard to lose a friend like a dobermann. All the best xo

  • I'm so glad you made this video. It's so great to be able to remember Rommel in his prime. Whenever I miss him all I have to do is see him on my computer. Dogs give unconditional love.. but this guy knew his human family loved him the same way. We shall see you over the rainbow bridge boy. Sleep well Rommy. Mum
