Are you sure? I actually saw John live and he's definitely hilarious. I thought it was somebody different - I remember one of his routines on this show involved something about being a restaurant and everyone was holding their ass waiting to use the bathroom or something? I remember this show in the late 70s when Bobby Van hosted it late night. It was hilarious, I don't remember this host from the 90s at all. I wished I'd known it was later shown again.
