Just came across this today while doing research. I am not a very religious person, but my Mom would say "I'm having a Jesus moment". I got chills watching this; the impact that this one night has on the lives of these young men might be positive hundreds-fold. There was no judgement of these young men at all. Coach Hogan is a true inspiration!
I work with these types of kids, literally. I am a substitute teacher for the Juvenile court schools and camps (the place the students stay after they have been sentenced). This is an absolutely amazing video. These kids are a product of their environment, and usually have sad home life stories. Giving them positive reinforcement, and positive role models and showing them someone cares about them is what they need to turn their lives around!! Thank you Faith Academy for doing just that!
There are so many feel good videos these days that sometimes we get "hardened" to them. This is one story that is so sincere and so touching, yes! I cried that those boys were shown the love of God that night. Made them want to have a life like those kids on Faith team! Wonderful!
This godly action was not about making some kids just feel good, but to show them that they are truly respected and loved. The same way God looks at us all. Thank you coach Chris...
Thank you so much for posting this! It is a great story that needs to be shared with teams everywhere! What great sportsmanship and the true meaning of playing team sports. Loved it!!
This is true sportsmanship!!! God Bless Everyone that had a part in making these feel love in their life. I hope it really changed their direction in life!!
Brought tears to my eyes. I can't totally relate to this because I was never incarcerated but I almost was. Only God's grace has brought me through that storm I lived as a young person. I pray that the love Grapevine Faith showed these young men will make a lasting change in their lives and they would in turn be a light to others as they grow up. Thanks for posting.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLES OF THE LOVE OF GOD FLOWING THROUGH PEOPLE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN! THOSE KIDS (ON BOTH TEAMS) WILL NEVER FORGET IT! MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A CHRISTIAN!
What a coach!!! I've seen plenty of coaches over my lifetime who did not teach anything else that the importance of winning. This coach taught his team truly how to be winners!!! I am still in tears and greatly convicted to show Jesus to the world through the things I do.....
THIS is what we need in our communities today....not the alternative..... want to watch another inspirational film that supports this idea...watch Men of Fall.... great movie with a great message...
What an amazing way to really live out your faith coach and fans. Grace in action. I'm sure Jesus was looking down with tears in His eyes. These young men have a turning point moment in their live that gave them "hope". Thank You!!!
Amen & amen !!! I couldn't agree more with the coach of the Grapevine team... How lovely is that ??? I also agree with everyone of you who thinks that this is an unselfish and an inspirational thing that has happened... I would personally like to thank each of you who participated in this... both the fans and the coach... Not to mention the cheerleaders. Thanks to all of you...
Our high school played against gainesville state, and we got to eat with them before the game. Surprisingly some of these guys were really cool to hang out with.
This is what happens when we share God's love. What an awesome example Coach Chris Hogan is to those boys and to the rest of the world. Job well done!
wow...such an inspiring story, that almost brought tears to my eye. The Grapevine Faith coach is a good man. Also im from Gainesville! i just thought i should throw that out there lol
This is a wonderful story. I live in Oklahoma where very little time and money is spent on rehabilitation for young offenders. I'm sure most states don't. We need to give these kids (our kids) a second chance.
How awesome! This IS about football and how the game can change the lives of not only these great young men, but the ones who cheered them on as well. Go Grapevine and Coach Hogan!!!
I teach a sixth grade leadership class. I used this video to teach the life principles of empathy and humanitarism. Thank you so much for posting this!!
That is what true Christianity is all about! It is things like this we need to overcome those who pervert what Christ taught us, and judge, hate, and ridicule those who made mistakes. Fred Phelps is a good example of portraying Christianity in the absolute worst way...Nobody has been hated into the arms of Jesus!
And I though why she said these kids don't know god and we could change that. Coach hogan really changed their lives

God is so good and these kids from Gainesville State are His kids. What the Faith coach did expressed God's faith and love.
