  • This is 'Basic' Fast jet training and not 'Advanced' which would be in a BAE Hawk T1

  • @smudent2010 you sir... are a penis.

  • you're confusing "jets" with "propellers" here

  • 8 people are American.

  • Ahh yes the modern day Spitfire.

  • my heart was broke when i realised the raf wont take on people with asthma and glasses.

  • I have lived in this base for a week, been all over the place (the new atc tower, officers mess, gym, etc). Never got a flight in a tucano but a pilot who was taking me into the plane told us that he would give us a flight , but health and safety crap...

  • There's something about the sight of RAF roundels against the big blue sky which gives me goosebumps.

  • in order to be a fast jet pilot you need to be able to multi task, which some candidates find hard to do.it also helps if you have been in the air training corps which shows the selection board you have an interest in aviation.a sound education a levels or a degree gets you on the application form.

there are aircrew that wears glasses so you dont have to have perfect vision as long as you meet raf requirements.

it takes as long 4 years to be an operational pilot after basic flying school.

  • @62del Old pilots wear glasses, you need perfect vision. By perfect i mean that if you went to an optician they would say you have 20/20 vision, maybe some tiny 0.25 astigmatism but nothing you need glasses for.

  • @PlaneAU Sigh there go my chances then, vision's getting worse. Go on steam tonight plz lol.

  • @tarkinfish I know for me my vision is still brilliant, but now bright neon lights are brighter (kinda like you have watery eyes and it goes all shiny) but that should help see small specs by magnifying them, I hope to become a fast pilot one day :D

  • I think the song really suits the video! Nice work!

  • i got to go in one of thoes with the aircadets :) !!!

  • this is more cooler then the modern jets.

  • Why did you put that shite music over the sound of the plane? Some fools shouldnt be allowed near a computer

  • nice vid!

  • Completely amazing !

  • 50,000 even....dick

  • @dearders86 Scary shit mate. Who is the ugly bloke at the beggining?

  • @Bonhon99 I know...posh bastard...who does he think he is?

  • Nearly 40,000 views lads!!! Who would have thought!!!! Hahaha

  • Very nice!

  • The RAF probably has the best pilots.

  • Excellent video.

  • Used to live there, every morning the Tucano would wake me up as it went past my house on the base, hopefully ill be flying one of these past my old house in a few years.

  • That is a beautiful aircraft and an outstanding video.

  • nice video. I'm currently in the admission process to be an RCAF pilot. We use the same planes for basic I believe. Can't wait to fly one!

  • Super Tucano A29 :D

  • @soladetenis

    Short Tucano T1

  • Nice vid. By gosh do those little things look like fun.

  • Oh but it is check it on wikipedia dude.

  • @Neutrinoghost The RAF trains in the Pilatus P-9 for fast jets. I'm surprised you can type because you obviously can't read.

  • @shirts4307 don't forget the Embraer Tucano; not sure if it's actually a fast-jet trainer though!

  • Great movie great music. I love this movie:). Greetings from Polish video is amazing. I want to be fighter pilot and fly like on this film

  • wow thar RAF has so much awesome HiTech equipment, just look at that awesome torch!

  • Great video!! People are just slating it because it doesn't have Drowning pool - Bodies as the sound track! Think the music fits perfectly, nice one!

  • Very well edited video,Great stuff!

  • Yet another great video, spoiled by the author's need to have a stupid soundtrack. Is everyone who posts a video 13 years old?

  • @voyagesdedavid 1. Mute. 2. Mute and open a second music video. 3. Mute and turn on radio. 4. Dont watch. 5. Upload a better video with your own choice of music for people to rip to bits.

  • @voyagesdedavid given the author appears to be in the early stages of fast jet training they could be anywhere between 18 to 24 years old, they probably like the band and there is a volume control available.

  • the tucano is a t 27 basically !

  • good film, crap music

  • Great Video unfortunately i didn't meet the health requirements for a pilot in the RAF (Glasses) but i'm in as a Regiment Gunner so i have a sort of contact with my passion, aviation! :)

  • Loved every second of it but not as much as the crew did.

  • I Love R.A.F !

  • Very nice chaps-reminds me of the gaggles of spitfires the way you maneuver over the countryside

  • Fantastic video. I'm very proud to be brazilian and to know that Short Tucano comes from Brazil.

  • That low level is epic! Do you have any more footage?

  • It's indescribable how excellent this video is. It makes me want to become a military pilot SO much more

  • fantasitc!!!!

  • is it a t 27 0r something ?

  • @mrflightsim011 The plane is a tucano

  • my friend told me you should join the RAF...and i'm like bro i can't even drive a car talk about flying a jet

  • ahh this make me happy

  • Amazing video! ,i love RAF and i love England! from Italy.

  • When I was a lad I won a cadet competition to fly in one of these beauties during a ATC camp in lynton on ouse. Absolutely the coolest thing I got to do and I greatly respect the pilots who fly in them. I understand I'm one of a tiny few of civvies who ever got to go in a military training one.. I'd like to say thank you . The finalists (myself inc) were asked why we would like to go in one. The two others gave upright answers but i said that i would "utterly just simply love to" and I got to go

  • RUINED BY PATHETIC BACK GROUND CRAP !TONE DEAF SHOULD BE SENT TO A NUT HOUSE!WHO ON EARTH WANTS TO HEAR THESE MORONS WHO ARE TONE DEAF! RAPPERS ?THE C FELL OFF THE PRINTER!

  • @mikeeiley i'll give you a clue - turn the sound off

  • aswome

  • best of britsh raf :)

  • What the song name is that?

  • I would give everything i own to get the opportunity to train as a fast jet pilot in the RAF.all my worldly possetions, even both my bollocks, not kidding.

  • @gingerstudioz The best comment I've ever red :)) Thumbs up!

  • @mka966 Haha cheers ^^ but no im not kidding, would litteraly give up anything :P

  • @gingerstudioz But if you gave up your bollocks then you couldnt fly the jet?;p

  • @gingerstudioz same, but i am joining up :D

  • @gingerstudioz ...well they let women fly now...so even without your bollocks you might get in

  • @gingerstudioz If you do this training you WILL need both of your bollocks.

  • @gingerstudioz why don't you just join the RAF

  • @kingpieman99 lol dont you see my profile picture ?? been in 2 years already but as an engineer haha, thanks for the advice tho mate :)

  • sick video - great flying

  • bastards ... i feel so jealous FML

  • I'd guess "Lifting the tail" is something to do with the nose wheel steering engaging.

  • pps what's all the stuff about the tail lift @0.29 secs with the Instructor taking the piss lol? What does the trainee pilot mean?!!!

  • @martyncw. weight on wheels switch is in the nose wheel strut. Throttle won't go lower than ground idle unless weight on wheels swith engages. Prior to start pilot must check full movement of the throttle.

  • ps where did the Spitfire, Hurricanne and Tornado come from?! What was it all about? All good stuff!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing video :)

  • Lol the Ball!

  • Excellent stuff

  • A BRILLIANT VIDEO FOR ALL INTERESTED IN PILOT TRAINING

  • These Tucs were made in Ireland! They're different to the Embraer Tuc - theyr'e stronger and have a 1150hp Garret engine instead of the 750hp PT6. I've flown both and the RAF Tuc is way better.

  • @dbchippy you talk some shite

  • very good

  • For those who love's the aviation world, your video is simply a orgasm

  • пока не признаёшь поражение ты не побежден! if you not argree with enemy victory - you isn't really conquered!

  • WW2 isn't over! nonthing is over! (copyright) Rambo!

  • i hate english juden - masons! We need a Willy MesserSchmidt figters to shoot down these bastards! 88!

  • @DerSturmerSS ...talking out your arse again Fritz?

  • badass video...very nice

  • do i need to learn how to fly a plane before joining the raf or are they going to teach me how to fly a plane when i get there?

  • @johnnyjohn0099 they train you

  • @stealth1692 is it free to join the raf?

  • @johnnyjohn0099 as far as i know

  • @johnnyjohn0099 chances of you getting fast jet training these days are slim. 20 places per year for the forseeable future and on top of that you'll need to make sure you've got the academic quals and brains to pass the apititude tests and THEN pass all the entry stuff. Or you could drop 80 grand getting PPL and CPL with little chance of a job at the end of it.

  • @InkyNibIllustrations can you tell me exactly what i need to become a pilot in the raf?

  • @johnnyjohn0099 Balls of steel and the ability to use Google. If you can't use a computer effectively there's not much chance the RAF is going to let you loose in a £40 million desktop with wings.

  • @InkyNibIllustrations becoming a commercial pilot today is getting much harder aswell. Most, if not all academies have just upped the entry requirements to 3 A levels of which 2 must be Maths and Physics. However, 99% of successful applicants also have a degree in aerospace engineering. It is much harder compared to 20 years ago when the RAF was much bigger and the commercial aviation industry wasn't being raped by a recession.

  • i wet in the tucano flight simulator in r.a.f linton-on-ouse and it was amazing !

  • great vid :) hopefully this will be me in a few years ive always dreamed of being a pilot in the raf :)

  • I'm in love .... Beautiful airplane.

Thank you for posting this video.

  • TorqueOfTheDevil1, when you complete training on the Hawk do you know where you want to go from there ie. Tornado, Typhoon etc?

  • You have the best job in the world, you lucky, lucky man, great video

  • thanks for the video, i dream of becoming an raf pilot one day.

  • wow video was amazing good job

  • Shot tucano so beutiful and aerobatic, supertucano so ugly and grotesque!

  • Se fosse lixo o governo Britanico não teria comprado. Esse pessoal que não entende de aviação não sabe o que diz!

If it was garbage the British government would not have bought. These folks do not understand aviation do not know what to say!

  • @Samjapa !

  • This video is hands down the best I've seen in I don't know how long! Wonderful...simply wonderful!

-just another fan all the way over in Wisconsin, USA

  • @dws26072 Glad you like it!

  • @TorqueOfTheDevil1 < Hi mate could you give some advice about RAF OASC? Im planning to be a pilot as well?

  • at 2:44 was the aircraft spinning out of a stall? cheers.

  • @0412700 Nope, that was fully intentional - both erect and inverted spinning are practiced at Linton.

  • I am thinking about joining the RAF after University. Will they let me fly fast jets with heart mild heart murmur. I have talked to my doctors about it and it is nothing to worry about it's just merely annoying. I have never had to give up physical activity, I play rugby and regally work out.

  • to bad i cant fly fast jets :( i have a tiny! colour deficiency :( but the army air corps is more lenient so i may go for them to fly helicopters

  • @Louisthefish23 - I'd make the effort to check on that if I were you. I'm fairly certain no military aviation organisation will recruit any aircrew member who has a colour vision defect - no matter how minor.

  • How good it is to see the Tucano flying in other countries, hugs and cheers from a friend in Brazil !

  • ah ok. sounds a bit technical. thanks for the reply :) keep posting vids!

  • Wonderful to see that plane along the historic Spitfire... and yeah, made in Brazil :)

  • Wonderful to see that plane along the historic Hurricane... and yeah, made in Brazil :)

  • Maravilhoso, MADE IN BRAZIL

  • what did you mean when you said raise the tail?! was it a joke or did it actually mean something. saw your instructor have a bit of a snigger!

  • @TheHbomb94 : Its technical, but there is a reason for doing that: You have to check that the throttle has full range before starting, including reverse thrust. Reverse thrust is only available on the ground (for obvious reasons) as detected by a small switch on the nosewheel. Sometimes the tail sags and the switch on the nosewheel is unmade, necessitating a 'raise of the tail' to remake the switch.

  • Tucano do Brasil!!!

  • How does the Tucano compare to the hawk? how does BFJT prepare you for the hawk? 124 hours is a lot of hours compared to other courses in the training system, why is it so long, what do you cover apart from basic handling skills, nav, emergencys??

    thanks

  • Nice video and music, if you like Tucanos pls. search in youtube for Clipe Waldonys e Esquadrilha da Fumaca

  • Sweet!
