  • I remember when we recorded this in the studios. It was a lot of work but it turned out great in spite of some behind the scene problems. It brings back memories to watch them again!

  • Good ol' Jackie Jack

  • That lead player is really earning his paycheck.

  • negatives:4.............sons of bitches have always bored me

  • Alright! Great tuneage!

  • you go into Lukenbauch and ask at the general store any cowbow with a guitar to sing little bird around the campfire and voila!

  • I drive the freeways everyday. I need Ole" Skinny Dennis as a navigator.

  • Jerry Jeff Walker is a unique treasure. No one else like him and never will be.

  • Great to see Jerry Jeff in rave-up mode. But he is also a master of the intimate mode-maybe my favorites in this vein include his version of Jessie Winchester's Mississippi You're On My Mind on his Ridin High album and Derby Day from his double album "A Man Must Carry On". But hard to single out gems from a jewel box.

  • Been to over 500 concerts from rock to blues( have 366 stubs to prove it) and I can put a 1986 jerry jeff show at the Col ballroom in Davenport, Iowa in my top ten shows ever. Others include Rush, Zepplin, The Who and Rush. (Yes I said rush twice). He is a master showman and song writer.

  • @MegaCarldude HA HA Glad to see I am not the only person who spent years going to concerts bringing home memories, some people will never get to have.

  • Landlords. Still...Suns of beaches!

  • I 1st heard Viva Teralunga in 74" in my dad's car. Then we moved to Texas late 75, and up against was a big tune, along with Blue Eyes, the smokey & the bandit theme, (East Bound And Down), Luckenbach Texas, etc. I read Jerry's book a few yrs ago, and he is a good man! Peace to all of the good American's out there! It is Christmas Eve, 2009, 11:11 PM Just enjoying a buzz, and thinking about my life so far. Another decade is upon us, let's make it a god one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't believe Guy Clark,who is a very talented fellow,created the universe.....nevertheless,always did like this singer-songwriter,too....good stuff!!

  • How bout some props for Guy Clark who actually wrote the song

Like this versin but LOVE Guy's

    Guy is God!!

  • He couldn't carry Jerry's guitar case.

  • awesome clip from a Jerry Jeff fan

  • Nice Ovation giutar! ;) JJW rocks!!

  • I live In Oklahoma but have seen JJW many times int he 70's Here and inTX... Always was an outdoor music fest with many more greats such as Michael Martin murphy, David Allen Coe... etc ..Too many to cite but JJW has always been my Fav. Think about all the songs he has wrote for others.

  • Great song,great clip!

John Inman is a fantastic guitarplayer, does anyone know what he is doing these days?

    Does he have a web-site?

  • Great clip, great performance !! Is good ole Jerry Jeff an Immortal or what !! He's been around for so damn long, with so much god-given musical talent, and he's produced such consistently high-quality product over some .. what is it .. 5 decades !! Wow .. and all that hard livin, and he's still goin' on & on. What can you say !! P.S. I read recently that too much hard drinkin kills you early .. I'm that scared that I'll now give up .. readin, that is !!

  • Jerry Jeff may not have been born in Texas, but we "naturalized" him years ago.

  • AMEN

  • If you look at the 1978 Diana Shore video and then this 1984 video you see this dude has aged fast in just six years.

Hard living with whiskey and song I guess.

Jerry Jeff one of the best....

  • This John Inman fellow is pretty spectacular. And of course, Jerry Jeff Walker just owns.

  • good song

  • yup..Austin sure makes musicians feel at home, that's why it's the live music capital of the world...kinda funny who ya might see lurking at the Saxon Pub....

Jerry Jeff is one of a kind...and thanks Susan for keeping him healthy,,and happy..

    My best

  • OMG! John Inmon at his best!

  • God Bless the Texan music men. One of my best friends in Corpus Christi, TX back in the 70's brother-in-law, Tomas, was with the band. Hey Jerry, remember the 4th of July picnics at Willie's? Awesome song and artist. Thanks for the music Jerry.

  • For us musicians, Jerry says it the way it was;I lived in a condo below the fiddler for Asleep; the various musicians going up and down were so cherished;I'd love to have one more time around, you know?

  • Scam at his best. He has good taste, so much in fact, he's backed up by the greatest guitar player from Austin, John Inmon. John has been around for forty years, so long that Stevie Ray Vaughn used to sit and watch him play. Guy Clark deserves a medal for writing such a great song.

  • Songwriter's Showcase was always a hoot. Some couldn't sing but boy they could write. My beret' goes off to them....I'm so blessed I got to pick with them I have to pinch myself. And fresno...you are right-on!

  • This is one great song. i was just turned on to Jerry Jeff and I am glad that i was!

  • Can't quite revisiting my youth. Jerry Jeff was a big part of it. Love his stuff. THX.

  • See below. Great songwriters...John Prine, Randy Neuman, Rusty Weir, Willie....heart and soul....good times and bad.

We out here love you all. CactusLil'

  • Austin nights and the Armadillo. Jerry Jeff, John Prine, Randy Nueman(m.s) great writers.. and there's Rusty Weir.

God bless them all ... CactusLil'

  • heard that Rusty's tumors have shrunk!!

  • Love it! Thanks for posting this great video.

  • been followin' this guy since "The Armadillo Wolrd Headquarters" in Austin, Texas

  • crowman, me, too!!! i was born and raised in Texas, grew up 20 miles south of Austin in Kyle...i've loved Jerry Jeff for years! you just can't get much better than him...he sings "real purty" for a New York native!!!

  • I have so much I could talk to you about..Thank-You for replying!

  • Actually, I don't know whether I like Jerry Jeff Walker or Guy Clark's version better. They are both excellent.

  • Absolutely loved it!! JJW is the best! His music has set me free many times. "Night Riders Lament" is my favorite.

  • I used to go see JJ at Sand Mountain in Houston on Richmond Ave in the late 60's early 70's!

  • WONDERFUL,, I just saw JJW at Greune Hall last month! Goodness, he looks young here, but so did I in 1984!

  • Who's on back up? Bobby Rambo?

  • John Inman. He's played off and on with JJ for a long time.

  • I love the man...He has always played by his own rules and f**k the rest..God bless you Jerry Jeff..

  • If you ever get a chance to see Jerry Jeff when he is in concert all by himself, jump on it. It is an awesome show. He is great with his band too.

  • Great.Loved it! Nothing scares the locals like a little Jerry Jeff cranked up loud and singing along loud and stupid to "Up against the wall you red neck mother"

  • That video isw a gift and a treasure. Thank you

  • My favorite artists.

I love Texas and Texas musicians.

Thank you, this video is my jewel !

  • That's what a sober Scamp Walker looks like.
