everyone has been wondering who the members of the pharos were. Well they are Cesar Aliviado, (lead guitar). Emilio Martinez, (rythum guitar). Greg Tangonan, (drums). Bill Bontempo, (piano). Phil Pastrano, (sax). jim irvin, (bass). We lived in La puente, calif, and Hacienda Hts. calif. I have the newspaper photo of when we signed with del-fi recording studios in may of '63. emilio martinez

I have lots of Del-Fi surf records, mostly bought in the early 80's, but have never heard of this one. It's excellent, the Latin style songs are especially good, THANKS for posting.
You know that feeling of being helpless in front of an overwhelming wave of mixed feelings, like admiration for beauty, being happy to be alive to see it, gratitude, relief and letting go of tension? Kinda like when you go on vacation and just LET GO of everything else. Well this song is so good, it took me back to that place! I cried a little, then laughed a little when I saw myself in the mirror. I must be going mad, but this song goes strainght to my heart, and to my mp3 player! Thank u! :*
@peetie25 ............check out the post made by The Grancapo yesterday...........They wrote the song, signed with Del Fi, and made this recording..........unfortunately, some unknown came forward and claimed it to be his song
beautiful song, athentic surf sound and i gotta say really one of the best instrumental songs ever heard off course respecting bands like the ventures, dick dale, the shadows, link wray....i could keep listen this piece over and over, thanks for post it!
I have got a sampler from del'fi which is named "pulp surfin'" (released shortly after the PulpFiction-Hype), where is an totally amazing live-version of Misirlou from THE BOBBY FULLER FOUR, recorded live in 1965.
Yes, really hard to find, never ever seen this CD again. It's also hard to find something from Bobby Fuller, only some Best-of"-Compilations, but they are awful.
Some month ago I've buyed "Bobby Fuller - El Paso Rock", a compilation with early recordings, including some live-tracks, but they are not soo good as "Misirlou" from 1965.
So poor, here in germany nobody knows Bobby Fuller, except "I fought the law"!
you are right, we were gipped. anyone know a good attorney? the grancapo

@1westworld My guess is that this was an instrumental take off from a traditional Spanish tune entitled ANGELITOS NEGROS.
