its a automatic gearbox with computer controlled dual clutch gear box . so u can leave it in the auto mode or use the paddle shifts behind the steering wheel to shift it urself , by putting the gearlever into S mode . this allows u to rev it to the limiter before changing gears . other wise the auto gearbox upshifts much earlier .

thanks man. I didn't see that he was hitting the buttons behind the steering wheel but I noticed it in another video and I knew it was at least some kind of automatic. Do you know if you have to use the clutch in S mode or is that automatically controlled even in S mode? It's truly remarkable how much of a monster yet how driver friendly this car is. I guess that's why even tho it's almost $2mil it still is selling like crazy for such an expensive car

no u dont have to use the clutch . it is a computer controlled twin clutch system . just have to select the gears , and the computer will disengage , blip the throttle and select the next gear in a matter of milli seconds . the DSG system used in the veyron has two cluches when u are in a certain gear the computer will ' sense ' which gear mite need next ( from ur driving style ) and will keep the next gear ready , so when u select the next gear 1 clutch disengages and the other simply engages.

THat's insane man. That just makes me love this car even more. I know that the gear shifts are insanely fast, almost as fast as an enzo or a F! car but I didn't know it also had an auto-clutch. I also like that it has 7 gears but with it's top speed 7 does make sense. thanks man.

man anycar that can make a key chain go sideways when accelerating is amazing. All the haters out there that think the veyron is crap and that the ssc is better can go and suck some balls in an ssc. it may be faster at top speed but thats about the only thing it beats it at. everything else the veyron is the ultimate road car.

ur right,the ssc has serious problems.the ssc is rwd and cant put its power down as well as a veyron so the veyron accelerates faster,the veyron is also far better through the corners and will out turn the ssc and this also looks way better,the ssc is too vulgar.and then there is the way is built,this is precision built by only a few skilled craftsmen,you can feel the quality for sure.lastly there is everyday usability and ride which tops the ssc as well and i could also talk about the gearbox.
