  • i thought he was 5 '8

  • champ bailey is overrated and deion and rod woodson are the best of all time

  • darrell is green is the fastest football player EVER with an 40 time of 4.09. no else has even had an unofficial 40 faster then that

  • @xav921 this was before the electronic time also....

  • @ playmayker88 even if green did try to shoot the middle it would have made it even harder to catch dorsett. all dorsett did was hit the hole then hit the sideline (not much). an until i see a official or unofficial 40 time of 4.09 (greens 40) for dorsett, then green is light years faster

  • BAD MOFO. moss said he was d toughest db he ever faced.

  • No other corner got more out of there size & ability then number 28 Darrell Green 1st ballot Hall of Famer.

    Congrats Darrell!

  • I was their it was great

  • Ok guys, time to get some videos back on on Darrel in action, especially the Mondy Night Game in 83 that put his name on the NFL Map when he ran down Tony Dorrset!

  • yeah, the bogus play that made him famous...

he had the angle on Tony

  • bogus play? Oh give me a break! i saw when he ran down Neapolean Kauffman when the REdskins played the Raiders, and he didn't have an angle to run him down, now that's pure speed!

  • Kaufman is Kaufman...

Dorsett had a different type of speed. Among the likes of Green, Deion, Bo, etc..

When Dorsett was with the Broncos, he was 34 years old, sprinting stride for stride with Sam Graddy.

  • I hear ya on that, the problem I never liked about Deion especially when he went to Dallas, is how cocky he became!

  • If u watch that Dorsett play, you can see that Tony saw Green late.

One he saw Darrell pass up his LB, Tony took it up a notch... thats why Green hooked him with his left arm and pulled him down.

I dont think that's a conclusive look at who would be faster.. theyre both fast!

  • True, but that wes one hell of a play!

  • @playmayker88: dude, you're a straight liar deliberately misstating the facts:

    1. TD saw him BEFORE he passed up the linebacker.

    2. TD ran another 20+ yards before DG caught him.

that was certainly enough time for his extra gear to kick in and take him to the end zone. and the hooking of the left arm (the far arm since he was chasing from TD's right) just proves his speed. he made the tackle standing up, not diving for the guy's feet. if u doubt me, watch the video!

  • I've watched the play several times and I don't see what you're talking about. He came from almost the other side of the field to make the play. And why would he have to take it up a notch as you said, shouldn't he already be running max speed so he doesn't get caught? Green ran him down, plain and simple. You just sound like a hater. And another thing, we don't need a "conclusive" look at who would be faster, Green IS faster. End of story.

  • Im not hating on Green. I think he's a great athlete and I loved watching him play. But if you really did look at the play multiple times, objectively, you should se that Tony sees Darrel late, after Green comes into Tony's view as he passes up his own linebacker. Tony spots him for the first time, then strides a little harder, some where near the 35 yd line.

Tony lasted 11 seasons at 190 lbs as a full time RB, by being smart with his body. 100% speed only when he needed

  • @playmayker88: who the heck is Sam Graddy??

  • @playmayker88 he had no angle no Dorsett... as a matter of fact the linebacker had an angle and Green had to pass the linebacker from the other side of the field just to catch Dorsett...so no offense if you can't see the fact that Green had to come from the other side of the field, pass the linebacker and catch TD from behind I advise that you go see an optometrist immediately.

  • You say he came form the other side of the field.. that doesnt show in the clip.. if he was playing the run, then he probably cheated to the middle, then turned around and made a bee-line to the sideline, .... whereas Tony was cutting through the line, avoiding tacklers, and looping around to the outside... before he even became parallel to the sideline, Green had already got a running start and was alot closer than the "other side of the field", and was aloso hidden from TD's view.

  • @playmayker88 lol, you must be a Cowboys fan-most whining classless assholes on Earth..."had the angle"...yeah, and he was only about 20 yards behind him doofus.

  • @pretorious700

But only 4 yds behind him once Dorsett was done with avoiding tacklers and weaving around to the outside, all the while, Green is making a straight run to the cut off point at the sideline. Dorsett didnt see him till late. And there were plenty of other times where Tony smokes him to the end zone. Nice play for Green though. It took Tony Dorsett to make him famous. Ha!

  • @playmayker88 Darrell Green didn't need Dorsett to make him famous. His performance over 20 years did that.

  • @pretorious700 im a dallas fan that lives in MD and have been to skins boys games and ill tell you first had who the classless are...skins fans, but phillys much worse

  • @playmayker88: dude. he was also 30 or 40 yards behind. Oh. i just saw your username. No cowboys fan is going to give a Redskin props.

My nigga Michael Irvin was the shit too, though.

  • @fooloof

30 or 40 yds behind?!?! can you count??

he was about 3.5 yds behind TD when they both became parallel to the sideline.. and once theyre both parallel , is when the footrace can only truly begin... while dorsett was weaving thru the line, avoiding tacklers. then having to loop around to the outside.. Green was runnng in a straight line right towards him, so of course he;s gonna make up ground when he has no obstacles to avoid like Tony.. theres a diff video on TD where he smokes DG

  • @playmayker88: yes, I can count. he was that far back when they both began running. granted, he was able to make up a lot of yardage because TD was avoiding tacklers, like you said. BUT, there is a vid where they stop the frame with DG just a few yards behind TD. @ that point, TD had ALREADY passed all would-be tacklers 15 yards back, at the 45. DG was not only BEHIND TD, but also to his right by several yards. Still caught him.

search "The Great Darrell Green Feature."

  • @fooloof

yes, when the video stops, thats when theyre both squared up and parallel, and thats where Green is 3 1/2 yards behind Dorsett and maybe 15 yards across from.. Greens speed is undeniable.. but Tony did not see him untill he cleared the LB.. thats why you can even notice TD do a double take, surprised that Green was approaching, but by that point it was too late.. but for the sake of argument..give Green this one, running down TD made him famous.. there are other vids where TD owns DG

  • @playmayker88: how do you have an angle on somebody when you're BEHIND them? an angle means you're farther downfield (toward the end zone), but somewhat off to the side. DG was actually behind and off to the side. he just ran your boy down.

    deal with it.

  • HTTR... alright bigc, it all started with my dissappointment. i didnt mean to offend you... we are fighting with the same team. Hey, good game in HOF game. I know this is the year the skins can go all the way. The team was impressive.

  • Okay, Fine you are from DC... cool! I am from Dallas! and i HATE the stupid cryboys!! HATE HATE HATE!!! However, i am just saying, Its like you go up to Darrell Green and say, 'Hi, Im BigC and im a 'die hard redskin fan,' and i just want to tell you are the best player to come out of Texas A & M!'" Mr, Green would be like, 'ummm, i didn't play for A & M.' I wounder what he'd be thinking as he walks away from you as he throws his hands at you! lmao! 'Die hard,' Green mocks you as you cry. lmao

  • You know what ironic..I've met Darrell Green and not only that I have his autograph.so been there already buddy.HTTR

  • he was from 'A & I'

  • A & M is not in Kingville, its A & I...... im dissappointed in you... if you are a true redskins fan. :'(

  • Become friends with Skins fans on YouTube, alot of them have game videos on tape, hard drive and disc , maybe they can send you copies. I suggest you leave torrents alone because they will soon have eyes watching what you do online.
