I first heard this song on Robbie Vincent's show on BBC Radio London one Saturday afternoon when, for a change, we didn't go to church (we went most Saturdays). Happy-go-lucky-times...
Shit... thought I was the only person in the world that bought this song back in the day. Great track, what a voice and that bass line,,, brings it all back.
If maxines son rexwalk74 reads this>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>tell ur mum that this is n1 of all time classics. My best friends sister inroduced me 2 this song wen i was about 14??? she changed my whole outlook on music. tell ur mum she's a ledgend. XXX
@blackjack4166 sure was... miss those golden days when all went to the club too party & have a good ole time!
NYC held such an abundance of pure energy.. those who exp.. really understand/understood the magnitude of the movement... long live the old school ! Port!!
I can personally tell all of you that she appreciates all of your comments and stories. Maxine Singleton is my mother. When she saw all of this, she was extremely happy. She thanks all of you.
@Rexwalk74 It's music like this that made the 80's such a fantastic decade. Songs like this one would send everybody stampeding for the dance floor! I still get pumped up with as much energy listening to this as when I was a teenager back in the day. Your mother's music was part of my life and I'll always be grateful for her contribution. God bless.
Its a great clever track. Riveting track and enticing and can be mixed into other great orchestrated songs. It should have done better on the Billboard Dance chart in 1982.
still love this the day i bought this at WG record shop in sheperds bush market.London I was 14 years old and 12" singles were £1.99 but this was £2.29. a kind black guy put the rest towards it as i didn't have enough

Still one of my favorite records. Yes, it is a little repetitive, but it just don't matter!
Classic.
