  • CLICK CLICK CLICK that's all i hear x]

  • come and play with me on ICC (internetchess club )nick name Christiann

  • I love bullet but only on the internet you can play much faster you do not need to hit the clock and you can come up with un usual tricks like premoves and confusing unexpected moves to kill opponent on time . But in face to face I preffer longer games over the cup of coffee in relaxed atmosphere.

  • You can tell the film's been speeded up by the body movement of the people when they rise from their chairs. It's too fast.

  • This was a great tournament! I'll compete in it this year too :) (and yes it is a bit speeded up but not much I'd say)

  • Playing that fast takes the fun out of chess. AND IS POINTLESS!

  • In this tournament you play 43 games in just one day. It's exhausting but it's fun!

  • That is your point of view. Just because you cannot do it does not mean it can not or should not be done... But you are correct, other than having lots of fun, bullet isn't very constructive.

  • at 1:35 , 1:36 you see that this is speeded up

  • I can't believe the first game was a draw!!! what a moron!

  • All these games were a draw

  • The video has definitely been speeded up. They all move like in an old Chaplin movie.

  • no it doesnt :)

  • The best place to look at this is after 0:56. Compare the movement speed of the players with the security guards and the spectators. Qwurk may actually have a case.

  • You have to make all your moves within 2 minutes. Trust me. That's real speed. I've seen a lot of those games. I think they have their personal set of moves prepared in their heads so that they would automatically play them against their opponent according to situation.

One thing though. What happens if there's a check? They have to slow down a bit by that time...

  • Finally some people who are familiar with high speed chess. And by the way we all know the sound of a DGT.

  • Now that you mention it, yeah, you'll have to use a DGT to play lightning chess alright. Thanks for reminding me. I'll keep that in mind.

  • no that is probably the real speed. its not unusual or anything for lightning. you could play faster than that even.

  • The funny thing is, that it is the normal speed. As you said there is no use to turn it up.

  • why did you speed up the video, it would have been fast enough and more interesting at real speed.

That was not smart at all.

  • I should have continued my last line with "as an excuse for them moving so quickly". Strong players - yes. Real speed - hell no.

  • OMG! If you can't see that the speed has been accelerated then you've got some serious reality issues. Even someone who hasn't played or watched the game should be able to see that. And don't give me that crap about them being "specialists"!

  • Ok, i can be more specific. The first game is between dutch youth champion blitz, F. v. Assendelft and IM M. Bosboom. The last game is between IM E. Cekro and GM S. Ernst.

  • lol yea Pieces are flying all over the place, can just move it somewhere else...

Then you see those two-handed moves, one hand moves a piece and another just randomly does something else..

    Normal speed chess ftw

  • How the hell do they know where all the pieces are supposed to be if they keep knockin everything over? Looks too hectic for my tastes.

  • This is real, check the sound. These guys are specialists. You can see them live if you want. Visit next tournament (www.lightningchess.nl)

  • You can tell the speed of the video itself is faster.

  • Way cool video btw. Those guys are crazy fast.

  • Speed chess isn't bad for your game, it's just a different skill set. Some players are better at playing with five or less on the clock, some are better with an hour or more.

Personally, I tend to play my best with around twenty minutes on the clock-- but then again I'm still just a woodpusher. = )

  • speed chess is bad for your chess ..
