BRAVA- She steps in (3 Days Reharsal) for Aliberti who replaces Miriciou. And- pleas dont forget_ The ONLY LIVING SOPRANO who sings casta Diva Best LIVE is Caballe in orange- but the best Norma (In ALL Aspectes of the role was Callas-but she never sung Casta Dica PERFECT (Mabe in Milano 7.12.55?)
Sopapian does a VERY good job-much better than Anna the Terrible, Guleghina,Mosuc or Gruberova!!!
I hate to be that guy in the room, but I'm not digging this performance. She takes FAR too many breaths, which she tries to supplement with sloppy dynamic shading. Her coloratura in the middle is also a bit heavy and harsh.
That being said, I'd LOVE to hear her Tosca. I just don't think bel canto is her fach, especially Norma
This artist has progressed beautifully from when I saw/heard her as part of the Armenian State opera perf's in LA to raise money for earthquake relief in the early 80's! Brava!! same lovely lyric timbre but graduated to more dramatic roles--love to see her in NORMA!!!

@flicfan416 I would like to argue that her Sombre Foret is pretty strong. I agree that the voice is a bit labored in this performance though.
