It was gorgeous weather on a Friday evening. They stayed open late because they were making so much money selling $8 beer to the multitude of suckers. I didn't really mind paying for the view.
I love seeing New york through your eyes. (well I'd love to see it through my own but yours will have to do for the time being!)
I was in Venice last New Year's and the ballon dog was on exhibition there in the grand canal - stunning the juxtapostion of old and new. Did you know there is a Peggy Guggenheim museum there? I have photos but no video because it was before I bought my camera.
Thanks for visiting, Leslie. You can borrow my eyes anytime. I didn't know about the Peggy museum in Venice. I would like to have known her. My image of her comes from Amy Madigan's portrayal in "Pollack". She seemed like a cool person.
I adore it when you slice me off a piece of New York pie! I get to experience things that I would never see or know about when you do films like this. I appreciate it so much!
Yes, and I am surprised how much the comments focus on the sculpture. Often works get dwarfed by the spectacle of the surroundings, but these works hold up against the background. Thanks for watching.
Well, it is different but, lol, i guess it isn't something i would get out of my bed to see, in my art perspective off course! Did you enjoyed it? That was a very beautiful serious face for someone who's next to a giant reflective yellow dog balloon i have to tell! lol
oh,he is the one that dd the google logo i couldnt work out haha, in london there is a giant metal spider outside of the Tate, and near town hall ( by tower bridge) there is what i could only describe as an 8ft hamster pellet standing up on end lol, i have a picture somewhere if youre interested :)
i might see if i can find anything of his in the tate come monday :)
i have heard of it,i just cant remember lol, the spider could be related to the giant pelet lol, there was a google logo designed much in the same way as the puppy

It is an especially golden age for golden balloon animals.

Way cool. I have a hankering for balloon animals now.
I'm still afraid of clowns, though.

I am not a clown fan. Although, I would like to see some pornographic balloon folding.

Thank you for this. The city reflected in the dog was one fantastic shot. I hope you are feeling well these days! Barb

Phil that was fun, I loved the balloon dog. What was that made of and I'll bet it costs a bundle if you wanted to purchase it lol
Nice to see you again
Fringe111 3 years ago
It's made of stainless steel. One of his balloon flower sculptures just sold for $25.8 million in London. Maybe Warren Buffett will buy you one :)

Love the balloon dog, What are those made out of?
oneiblind30 3 years ago
Stainless steel. They look so light, like they are going to float away, but I imagine they are quite heavy.

I loved it. Koons is very whimsical and it fit the mood and the setting. The pieces were so well cast and crafted and so very sexual.
FantasticBabblings 3 years ago
I saw them just a couple of weeks ago :-)
johnatspray 3 years ago
These pieces manage to hold attention and not be overwhelmed by the setting, which is a tall order.

I didn't know about the Google logo. I think the giant spider is by Louise Bourgois, who is having a major retrospective at the Guggenheim now.

However, it seems to me that the exhibited sculpture more properly belongs at the MOMA or Guggenheim.
I am jealous.
