Very cool that Nick still interacts with the fans...In 1980, when I was 20, he let about 7 or 8 of us on stage to sing the last minute or 2 of "Homicide". They are great with their fans and I believe that was pretty standard with their early shows..
superb band sorely underated in the uk at their peak,i was a punk (44 now) i genuinely felt they suffered from a lack of exposure at the time, they had a great sound, unique at the time, guys used to go about with big 999 patches on their jackets, but never really knew what they sung, maybe they just werent marketed well enough,or the fickle uk public spent their money on merryxmas, bing crosby, luv their stuff though
Used to see these guys in Washington DC at the 9:30 Club in the early 80's......they could have been as big as the Clash...not sure why they where not? Great band
It was a life changing experience for sure. It was on to the Starwood, Polish Hall, Whiskey, Bards Apollo, Godzillas and the rest is history. What a ride it was.
Thanks again bearcagela!! This was the second "punk band" I'd ever seen live. January 1980, at the Santa Monica Civic with the Dickies opening for them.
