what shaft is that ??? 6x115mm ? or smaller coz my one borke form the bottom and I bought some spares but I dn't think I'll be able to take out that plastic piece at the bottom of the shock :/ 5/5 for all ur vids :P
@MusTanGPrOx Hey, thanks for the comment. Yeah it's a 6x115 shaft. That shaft is standard in the VVC/HD shocks that the SS comes with. The threaded part of the shaft is always the weak bit :( Looks like you're going to have to buy the plastic ball joint as well. If you have trouble getting them separate, you could return your new shafts and buy the ones from Phat Daddy, they come complete with the ball joint.
i was wondering if you will need any types of special tools (does not come with the kit) that you will need to build the kit not including the screw drivers
Not including screwdrivers..well i'd say pliers, allen drivers (your hand will get sore using the small supplied ones) and a small socket set would be handy. That's about it I think :o)
I just finished a SS kit and it took me 13 hours including paint, and i know one end of a spanner from the other. It's a great kit and a fantastic car but never again....lol
man this looks harder then i thought it would be im selling 2 nitro powered trucks i have a savage x and xtm xts truggy 4wd with a 250 dollar motor. for all 700.
i should be getting a vintage dirt bike that i can probably borrow about 1000 off of it by it self. i can't wait to get one i really am looking foward to getting one for 950.
Hey dude, thanks for the comment. The car itself took between 15 and 20 hours, the body took about a day really, the masking out takes most of the time.
Yeah, prices have gone up a lot over the last year. Last summer you could buy the complete combo for £730. You can now buy rebranded RTR Bajas for £400, so it's hard to justify an extra 500 just to build it.
Hey, I've been building 1/10th scale kits for years, but this was the first 1/5th scale kit i've done. It can actually be easier because everything's so big! Get one, they're superb!
Well the SS already comes with an upraded pipe over the standard Baja, which I haven't changed. At the moment i'm swaying more toward a 30.5cc conversion.
The hardware (i.e. the screws, nuts etc) all come in lettered bags which cover a number of steps. The plastic parts are all on numbered 'trees', so in effect you do have to fish around for the parts you need.
The biggest problem is the sheer number of parts in this car, you can easily spend 10 minutes looking through all the trees to find a plastic part. All part of the fun though, buy one if you get the chance!
The roll cage is thick nylon with a metal roof plate. The car is very durable. The only thing i've broken is the exhaust clamp and i've had some pretty bad accidents.
If you can afford the extra price, 100% buy the kit. The build is just so enjoyable.
does the baja 5b ss come with a throttle linkage for the throttle servo?

Hi Matt, nah it's pretty straight forward. Well worth buying. I'm thinking of another now that the exchange rate is a bit more favourable.

Thanks

I'm going to.
Have you changed the stock exhaust yet? I'm thinking about ordering the Mielke or the Dominator Side-Mount.

how much dos it cost and is it hard 2 build?
hilal7965 3 years ago
The kit itself costs about £600 and the electronics about £120. Budget £750 for everything including paint, fuel etc.

hey i was wondering, for each individual step do the pieces per step come seperate or do you have to fish them out of everything else

Is the roll cage matal? How durable and reliable is this car and is it better to build or buy built?
