big debate over the ipad , depending on how you use it, it can be a very powerful tool, i take it with me to work and record songs all night. better than carrying a laptop and its hands on somewhat, i think they need some more work on the apps and games but its come a long way.

my 500 sounds better than this thing, and it's 4 years old.

in fact, my RPx400 sounds better, and THAT came with Protracks, which I still use for mixing.

Digitech should hire a well known american guitarist who can speak well and play amazing! I am not saying to fire this guy but a top notch product should have top notch representation..

Would be better if the iPad was used to control an onboard effects engine rather than using the iPad for the engine. I like the interface fo editing parameters on the iPad, but I wouldn't rely on it for performance.

@bassgrooves2 you set it up before your gig and then use the pedalboard without the ipad to play live.. once you are on stage.. i doubt you will be changing parameters etc..

I take it those of you putting it down, DONT OWN AN IPAD!!!...

if you already paid your money for iPad, already found a reason to have it, then you have the option of having this functionality for an extra £420, then i think it's a different conversation...

if this was the only reason to have an iPad, then yes, it's the wrong use of your cash!!!

I was soooo interested in this until I learned that it was solely for the ipad. So let me think.. about $500 for an Ipad, then $400 for the unit itself. This product narrows its own market. I don't understand why Digitech feels like it has to buy into all the apps and tablet fads. You can have tech in music, as long as its centered in music! Could've just as easily developed their own, or hired an outside company to do the touchscreen and software business. Save money and their consumer market.

Interesting concept, albet it would have to sound better then the majority of floor based units to justify the price, which is essentially 800-1000 pounds or dollars....

Give me a digitech rp1000 over this any day....the ipad is not a plus its a minus.I love digitech but this is a total waste of cash.

@Dreamdancer11 The ipad is used to tweak the sounds.. obviously you haven't used an ipad to realize how user friendly it will be to use it INSTEAD of cumbersome menus.. line6 will release something to compete with digitech in just a few days.. what will it be..i bet it will involve an ipad to control and change parameters as well..

@superchillin85 i dont have any doubts about its usability or the quality of sounds.The problem with ipad is that its not protected when used like this.A beer or something else can ruin it...and in a flash you lose both computer and ipb-10(cause it requires ipad to function).Plus if you are on stage you pretty much have all your sounds mapped out and all you want is a little fine tuning(if) here and there.ipb-10 isnt a worthy upgrade from an rp1000 but that just me...
