@Pakamen1 ceertainly not directly!!! ... MA Charpentier was not an "official" musician at his time: his music never circulated in the King's circle; he mostly wrote for specific occasions and his countless compositions remained manuscript to our days as he was too Italian for the court's taste of XVII century... I am sure that Handel had never been exposed to any of his pieces. This pieces sounds baroque as it is a long chaconne, which is the compositional cypher of the baroque music

C'était le Grand Siècle, monsieur. Le 19ème siècle, à côté, c'était le Petit Siècle, n'en déplaise aux dialecticiens du Progrés et du Bonheur.

En 1978, j'ai écouté ce magnificat sur une K7.

Il est merveilleux que tant de cultures et langues se mèlent pour une musique de telle richesse, d'autant qu'elle est merveilleusement interprétée ... Je pensais les américains unculte, mais de part les "comments" que je lis, je vais revoir mes cahiers. M.A. Charpentier fut un mucisien prolififique, et d'une création inimaginable. La concurence de Lully l'aura ombré :(

c'est l'oeuvre de Charpentier que je préfère, mais elle est assez méconnue.

J'aimerais beaucoup la voir interprétée sur une vidéo.

J'ai uploadé une version fabuleuse, avec Gérard Lesne (l'une de mes dernières vidéos). J'ai toujours adoré cet enregistrement, l'un des meilleurs de Visse, mais celui avec Lesne est encore plus fort.
