Liked your message man, thinking the same way and noticed that also, and LOVING IT! The whole Christian story used to confuse me a lot, it was like - sometimes i feel still and at peace, but sometimes i have no freeking clue what is going on in the Bible, or Book of Mormon, it's like i have to soak in the whole story all over again in order to understand what is going on. The thing is, Christianity alone didn't work for me, it works for a lot of people, but not everyone is the same.
wonderfully simple- try sitting with the emotions, not engaging them, not reacting to whom ever the next time we feel anger or saddness. thanks for the video.
I got very little from this video. A lot about what spirituality is apparently not but little on what it is. The message I got was, "real spirituality is just relaxing and not blissful". Alright, so what? Whatever it is you're promoting just sounds like whatever it is you say spirituality is not. I'm confused about this spiritual movement. To me it just sounds like a bunch of people who are high.. yet not high. I think ya'll will look back in 10 years and think you were so full of yourselves
This was awesome. You helped me to realize I just need to let it be and stop beating myself up for not getting to the next level spiritually ( or of consciousness ) quick enough. I just need to "Live in the Now" as Tolle would say! Thanks for making my day! I
I don't get this spiritual movement, I really don't. All these people wanting to get to the "next level", whatever that is. Isn't that just exactly the way you were before you get in to this spiritual garbage? Wanting the next big thing or career move, or whatever. Now people have just become "spiritual" consumers. And in the end what's the message really? Just relax? Wow, such wisdom. Why relax? Really, why? So your ego can rest? You'll never escape anything in life.
And now people thinking that all they need to do is just one thing, just "live in the NOW" and everything's perfect. Of course, they are constantly disappointed bc it never ever works that way, and then people just feel bad when their own spirituality doesn't meet their expectations. It's exactly the same as egoic living, except more egoic bc spiritual people have deluded themselves in to thinking they have everything figured out.
It was a pleasure listening to you this morning. I have many times beat myself up for having anxiety about life dramas. One of my favorite quotes is "wear life life a loose fitting garment" I'm learning to be patient with my spiritual growth. I do know that I am alot farther along than I used to be. I like your "relax into it" message. Thanks!
i love the wear life quote and have not heard it before- very helpful as i try to not react, as i feel hopeless, like i'm not really all here. thank you aamartin
I agree. I have a very similar understanding also. I sense you are living the practice. I found your explaination helpful, when I feel disappointed with my spiritual growth. Thank you! What evoked your "awakening" ?
Thank you for your subscribing. My awakening started very young. I always had a splinter in my mind. I knew something was off with 'reality'. Eckhart Tolle, the movie "The Matrix", and a deep hunger for truth opened the doors.
Vagabondsteve....I listen to the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Gary Zukov, Genpo Roshi....and others...and Matrix is one of my favorite movies......lol......
I so enjoyed listening to you and will continue to do so.....I started years ago in a non denominational church looking for the truth and over the last 20 years I was lead to these teachings....today life is so wonderful and I am so grateful for people such as yourself....Thank you for your part in creating a new earth....
When Eckhart was asked to summarize his teaching in one sentence I think he said, "Make the present moment your friend and not your enemy". In other words "surrender to what is", which also means not striving to attain an enlightened state in the future.
I have read the bible. Have you read the "Power of Now"? Please re-read your comment and honestly ask yourself if this approach wins souls to Jesus. Christian self-righteousness repels the very souls you are trying to save. Remember your beliefs are based on FAITH.
Well said. The misnomer of enlightenment you talk about has to do with people mistaking enlightenment for being highly evolved (such as Buddha, Jesus, etc.) Enlightenment is the path to growing/evolving. The more enlightened you become the more you evolve.
Spend time in nature, meditate, intuitive listening, creative pursuits, journal writing, volunteering, follow your dreams, risk-taking, love others, just to name a few.
Vagabond Steeve: Thanks a lot for sharing this. Very clear message. It is wonderful to see how there are seekers everywhere in the world, just like ourselves. Greetings from Mexico (apologies for any english mistake).
i love this little car visit good lighting maybe we all go to our cars i love to sit in the car when the sun rests on my shoulder i live in washington so its a gift when that happens, i want to learn more about getting rid of fear and looking for my light daily i paint flowers daily and i love to collect crystals i love the rainbow of color so i get bliss from my kaliedoscopes i make its all god in me doing it ,bless you

lol why you doin this shit in your car i guess all that letting life take you along fucked you up huh and ITS NOT SURRENDING TO YOUR FEELINGS its called NOT GIVING A SHIT.. try this out for your meditation this goes to ALL OF YOU. picture those priest molesting those lil boys, picture those women in dafur all over africa being slaughtered mutlated and being burnt alive seeing there scalps bubbling from the heat of the fight :) think positive with that SHIT. then yo ass will be blissed
Hahah just kidding. That's what one might say of your expose here, if they haven't read the book. The book and Tolle articulate the abstract of this philosophy very well.
Thank you for all your comments! Bending in the breeze; let nature be our guru. What was different about yesterday which enabled you to withstand a dust storm?
happened before. Big pain, immune supplements, followed by feeling like I've been meditating for 20 yrs. It is a big mistake to try & duplicate that experience which is what I've been doing. Thought I had awakened. Ha!!

Thankfully it is the same ingredients which are in EVERYONE. The ingredients are simply baked with presence. Eckhart devotes his life to the spiritual path. Michael Jordan devoted his life to basketball. Most of us are hampered by being too inured in the world. Inner peace is SUBTRACTION not addition. Let us be not like Eckhart; let us be OURSELVES. Enlightenment is stripping away the illusory clouds which blocks OUR sunlight.
Well if you can watch "what it's like to have a stroke" on youtube. Jill Bolte Taylor
It's 20 min. and her voice is annoying, but you'll be so glad you watched it. Very moving, and I'd like your opinion on your posed question "what a neuroscientist would make
I've never had a stroke & never studied neurology. Her voice was fine & it gave me some insight about Tolle that I was looking for. I've seen comments that Tolle had some king of brain seizure. I kind of doubt that.
Really? I'll look into it when I get a chance and let you know. THAT would be something! and maybe the reasons he wrote the book(s).
I showed the film on Jill in class and the students could barely get into it because of her voice, that's why I warned you about sticking with it, but you saw it before anyway.

We are evolving consciously as a species, these times are very exciting!
BTW It happened in an instant for me, suddenly I was all the prophets, sages, gurus and seers that have ever been.
Happily I had a frame of reference for it having studied eastern religious philosophies for many years.
Relax, breathe practise, surrender.
That's it.
Flow like water, the effortless action of nature.

Great thing to keep in mind. Going this way,

What was different?
Experienced a day of intense "turbulence".
Took some powdered supplements.
Watched Tolle/Opra webcast.
Went into the breathe and after awhile I
experienced a peaceful euphoria that lasted
until I woke up the next day. This has
happened before. Big pain, immune supplements, followed by feeling like I've been meditating for 20 yrs. It is a big mistake to try & duplicate that experience which is what I've been doing. Thought I had awakened. Ha!!

I wonder what a neuroscientist would make
of Tolle? I like watching him and I wonder
what his hormone system is like? What hormone
dominates? What does his neuro G(od) Spot
look like? In other words how does he do it?
What is it like from the inside? He had a conversation with Ken Cohen about enlightenment. It is not that everyone is different. Tolle is much different from
Cohen. Tolle doesn't have to go into a
stillness mental state because he is that.
