Nice - had this on vinlyl in the 90s. Sounds like the coda to a movie soundtrack or something, the way the full orchestra comes in at the end making a cameo. But such great artistry then among the singer and musicians that they could just come in and casually (professionally) toss off a classic - one that doesn't even see the light of day for many years hence. Who really knew 'where or when' it would ever be heard again.
his voice and paraphrasing is unparalleled yet the most profound is his charity foundation; it has already generated 1.5 billion for all races and religions.
Isn't this just the best arrangement? Matt Monro would do an almost-exact version in his live act early-mid 80's. Arrangement, not vocally. So stirring.....
@llanto75 Haha! Thanks, man! I am flattered by your comparison, but I strongly dissagree with you! Haha! Frank is boss! This song is beautiful, though. I have it on my "to do" list.....hopefully soon!
I MUCH prefer this slower, quieter version than the faster, more upbeat live versions.

Even if I don't really like the final crescendo.

It kind of blows the understatement, doesn't it? But that's Frank, often teetering between the cool and overwrought.
