  • jajaja... freakin hilarious

  • we all know where it goes. . . dnt sayit! but we all know...

  • loool

  • nice whip man.

  • U didn't do ur home work right check the trunk under the corvette emblem it's used to open the trunk and access the Manual door release and the fuel cap if the battery dies!

  • @sickoagain You didn't do your homework either by reading the first line of the video description.... oh well.... nobody's perfect.

  • @xcislife94 with the alarm button.

  • ok .. put in your ass

  • uesd the key to open the trunk ! there is a place where it goes in to , just look under the number plate lights or just near it

  • woow this bad girl vette can take it all way in lol

  • lol wierd

  • how do you unlock the door?D:

  • @xcislife94 nvm didnt realize this was just about the hard key

  • @xcislife94 The car senses that the key is within a few feet.

  • look at the plate number and youll find a lock on the top

  • How to Enter & Exit a Corvette With a Dead Battery - Ross Downing Chevrolet

    search on youtube

  • its gone in your ass hole lol ahahahahahahahahah

  • Man i wish i had that problem!!

  • so, you cannot start this Corvette if the battery in your key hob dies?

  • @bluebearbank247 I think so yes.

  • @briansmobile1 you can, you need to put the fob in the little rectangular hole in the glove box button side toward the wheel i believe, that will allow you to start it

  • @briansmobile1 Ok so, how the hell am I going to secure my car? =( shit im scared now i was gonna buy a corvette zr1 lol

  • @bluebearbank247 The transponder transmits for YEARS. Chances of failure are slim. The battery for locking and unlocking the doors can die and you're ok. You can open the trunk and pull a latch to open the door and then you can start it.

  • @bluebearbank247 that's true for a lot of new cars though, not just the Corvette.

  • There is a keyhole in the back above the license plate to open the back hatch if you loose power. Come on, you knew that, right.

  • @c6rocks Ya, but nobody reads the descriptions these days.

  • If you can't find a place for the key, buy a hyundai, it is easier :p

  • wait a second...

  • @briansmobile1 NO MAN!!!!!!!! You can open the trunk with the key. Where is your rear licence plate lights there is the lock. And you can open your trunk. So this is the emergency key when your battery goes down!

  • @ricsi74 ha ha! I know. It's in the description above. Thanks. = )

  • Bend over and i will show you where the key goes for making such a stupid video...

  • then someone can steal corvette lol

  • Key goes under the car in the back in case your power goes out and you can't unlock your door via remote.

  • nothings ever good enough to pleasee you guyz! its a fucking corvette who cares if the key is usefull or not just drive the fucking car thats whats important not what the key could do:S

  • ok but dont that mean that anyone can hop in the car press that button and drive off with it lol

  • ok so anyone can go up to your car take if has no key to lock it

  • @12344richard NOPE. There's an electronic transponder (RFID) that enables the ignition/computer when you get in the car. It senses it in your pocket.

  • DANG THE DOOR PANNEL IS LOOSE ,IN 1:11 IN THE VIDEO

  • @mr010tommy010 You're right. That is sloppy. There's a sacrifice in rigidity when you use lightweight plastics AND feel that visible screws are taboo I suppose.

  • @briansmobile1 BUT THE CAR IS STILL THE SHIT

  • haha glove box

  • i guess someone told him the other key is for the trunk. it's inverted so u cant see it. Recessed space where a key would be on a car,

  • Stupid video with a stupid person.

  • @buffmaloney That's very deep. Thank you.

  • @johnsousa1 So when you steal it from him ill steal it from you bitch!

  • @johnsousa1 lol I know it has a transponder key fob. Harley uses that too.

  • @johnsousa1 Good luck starting it without the fob though. The car works off of a proximity sensor, the fob has to be inside the car for it to start. Nice try though.

  • The key is also used to reprogram the remote fobs. If you buy a new fob you place the old, working fob inside the car next to the shifter then put the key into the keyhole above the lisence plate and turn it quickly 5 times. Then you place the new fob in the slot inside the glove box to program it. You can also program new fobs with no working fob but it's a pain in the ass and takes more than half an hour.

  • the key also opens the trunk in case you didn't know there's a hole below the trunk over the license plate... or how did you planed to open the car if the battery ran out, you open the trunk and there's a hidden stick that when you pull it the door's jump out... although I didn't know about the lever to open the car from the inside, thanks for that tip... =)

  • @tommy003 Thanks- I know. it's in the first line of the description.

  • At first I thought you were just being a dick but then you started the car and I was like what the hell, that's awesome lol.

  • @glitchuser4 lol

  • Same dumb system for a z06 but my dome light comes on automatically as you walk towards the car at night. THAT KEY is for the girlfriend (at the time) and you give it to her for a false sense of caring about her,she can use the glovebox and feel special.very cheap replacement key as is the girlfriend, girlfriend gets mad and won't give you key back ,no big deal, pick up a new key at home depot for 75 cents. How exciting for the bimbos, good thinking. GM

  • @09victoryrc YES! FOR THE WIN!

  • look behind the license plate. opens ur car when the battery died.

  • @johnsousa1 Good luck with your life's philosophy. You might be better off to rent one or buy one.

  • Hey Brian, Is that your vet?

  • @Freedomhawk1776 Nope. I get to drive them often enough that I can't see paying for one. I LOVE your user name by the way.

  • @briansmobile1 Thank you Brian. Hopefully we can recoop some of our freedom for all in 2012. Your videos are informative and entertaining. Keep them coming! God bless.

  • @Freedomhawk1776 Thanks. Ya I'm really pulling for RON PAUL. He's miraculously braved the House with his spine and conscience in tact. Takes a heck of a man to pull that off.

  • kick that ginger!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @corpmedia Bad idea. This ginger pummels bullies.

  • @briansmobile1

I don't know Brian, you're one hairy Ginger, I think I prefer MaryAnne.

Keep it up, love your vids.

  • @RelicDavvi She is the hottest one on Gilligan's Island......

  • that's not true. the key is also used for opening the trunk latch, above the license plate next to lights theres a place to open it.

  • @montejose123 did you read the description?

  • So in other words if the corvette is a convertible and its all buttons then there is no work to be done to hijack it, you just hop in and push a button? Or is there a strange security system on it?

  • @fireballs450 There's a transponder. It wont start and OnStar will get the police after you. The best part is a secure place to stay and three meals a day.

  • @briansmobile1 yea but how will the vehicle know the difference between the hijacker and the owner if you don't need a key for the car

  • @fireballs450 The owner has a transponder in his/her pocket.- the "key fob". It's an RFID or device that sends a low voltage radio frequency infrared signal to a receiver behind the dash. The signal enables the ignition system. It's kind of like those tags on merchandise that set off the alarm at Walmart when the clerk forgets to deactivate them or some one steals merchandise with a tag in it.

  • @briansmobile1 Whoa that some intense technology! Man I never thought of it like that. Thanks for sharing

  • This video is why all of the cars (except for my 4runner) I have owned are from the 80s. I like a somewhat total control over what I'm driving. I don't like to feel as if I'm sitting in a circuit board; suffocated by wires.

  • the key is to open the car if the batt gose dead in the button my bosses xlr has that there is a little plastic cover under the back bumper. you pop that off and under that is a key hole you turn that and lift the trunk lid once you do that there is a little handle attached to a cable hiden in the side of the trunk that pops the door open

  • @smokey756T That's right- on this one it's vertical above the rear license plate. It's pretty cool, but no one carries the key any more with these systems. It's pretty ballsy to abandon the mechanical aspect and provokes a lot of options and questions in agency etc. Realistically you could have a transponder block initiated by the Police to kill your car to prevent a high speed chase and possibly save lives.. or super enable a future gestapo force to capture and Rodney King you. = O

  • gotta love some def leppard

  • so cryzer doud :D

  • @TEMEZARE Fo SHIZZLE!

  • recently i had to jump start a prius, easy system in comparison to this......which begs the question....can you jump start this car if the battery goes flat!! :))

  • @foxdmulder you could probably push start it - clutch dump while holding the starter?

  • I don't really like the concept. You could still have this but also the option to use the key would be nice. Everything being electronic is a bit hairy. If the car want's to take off like the Toyotas did, you can just shut it down with the turn of the key. I am wondering if the gear shift is actually connected to linkage, or is that electronic as well?

  • lol ... is this a new toy ???

  • what if the battery in the transmitter go dead how do you unlock the car

  • I knew it. After you showed in interior I either that it was for locking the trunk from the inside or the glove box. But its kind of useless, they should just make it a keypad for the glove box since everything else is touch.

  • @counkev That's a good idea. That or just make it electric and have it disarm by proximity like the rest of the car.

  • wait a second... i want one!!

  • Haha.

  • Actually the key is how you get into a Corvette if the battery goes dead. It fits a lock on the hatch, right above the license plate. You open the hatch and there's a door release there.

As to how the car 'knows' it's owner - the key fob is programmed to the car. If you don't have the fob on you, or the wrong one - you are walking home.

  • @JohnzCarz Ya, I put that in the description. You are a smart guy! I would have a hide a key with a spare battery in it for the remote and maybe a set of jumper cables in the trunk.

  • @briansmobile1 Yup, my bad – skipped the description, that’s what I get for throwing out the instructions all the time. Good idea on the ‘hide-a-key’, probably will never leave you stranded, but it only takes once to make it worth it.

  • @JohnzCarz You have great input. Your comments are welcome here any time!

  • interesting

  • Is that your car?

So how does the car know the person that owns it from any other person?

  • @TRcustomengineering By your smell, just like a dog!

  • @TRcustomengineering The fob has a transponder that is programmed to the car. It's not mine..... yet.

  • @briansmobile1 Ah.., that makes sence.

  • Fittingly, it only has a "Go Button" similar to the Mercedes CL500. And the Corvette can really go!! LOL I wonder how much a key costs at the dealership, if you lose your "glove box" key?

  • they just had to give out a key for the old sckool feel

  • @jdirtbiker1 got a have keys if you're gonna flash them at the ladies!

  • @briansmobile1 no wonder my push button remote isnt impressing them. haha

  • @jdirtbiker1 lol

  • @briansmobile1 Flashing your transponder isn't sexy? :-p

  • lol

  • What's your take on cars like that Brian as far as theft and also more electronic things to go wrong?

  • @Chris07860 Cars like this aren't a daily driver and are babied. They're lucky to see 100K miles. For these, with the convenience of leaving your key in your pocket and looking cool- it's fine. Any one with a wireing diagram and the will could steal it just as easy as any other car out there.

  • More things to go wrong on a car and that seems real easy for someone to steal such a car.
