You have really good technique and commitment, you have the potential to be a very high standard playing keeper! I just started college hockey and I'm definatley going to steal one or two of those footwork exersizes for myself :D
Would love to hear from you! Please message me as I have some great resources I am happy to share. Great video!!! I have a women's hockey blog chiarapurcell and youtube site thehockeyroos . Wow always great to meet a fellow goalie :)
Jahna hi! Great to see a fellow goalie in action. I actually have this (your) video up on my blog at present. I am 16 years old and play for WASPS senior womens team in Western Australia. I have represented Western Australia for the last 3 years at my age level and just live for the game. Great skills in your video and drills are excellent. Balance is everything. I would suggest you try using an indoor hockey stick instead of the larger goalie stick. Easier to hold up and more control.
Pretty good to be honest, i'm a keeper myself but in men's division in New Zealand and the only thing i could say is to keep more on your toes and not flatfooted at times and keep the hands up. Perhaps a shorter stick grip technique to provide better speed and accuracy in stick work?
@fkreligion Thanks for the compliment and suggestions. Getting ready for my first year of college hockey. I visited NZL last year mostly up north in KERIKERI and really love NZL. Mu university team has 2 players from NZL so I am looking forward to some Kiwi power!
@jahnajordan hope everythings going well at Kent for you! It's so cool to meet goalies this way. I was looking at Kent State for a little while too but I don't think I wanna go there because I'd get no play time competing against you ;D how long have you been playing? Your really fast on your feet.
Good Luck at Kent State. I have the same red OBO helmet you have. One comment. Make sure that when you dive you dive on your side not your stomach. That way you can keep your eyes on the play.
