haha. this video should have been titled "how steve vai would play the rockin in the free world solo"... Thanks for putting me to sleep. metal is soooo boring
@licksnkicks i actually think shredding really fits this song for some reason. totally in contrast to neil youngs style, but fun over te chord progression nice. i posted a vid playing this too. your was def more thought out though.
@cupolove1 Yea I think you can incorporate many kinds of playing over this song, and yes it is very different from Neil's original. I used more than three notes ;)
It is somewhat thought out, and did take a couple of takes to record, but I didn't tab it or anything, so it's in my head anyways.
@kisaposti LOL true! it seemed pretty coherent throughout. great work. although three notes drowned out by over use of a bigsby tremelo can have its place too. this is my less proficient improv take on it with my old band stellar. /watch?v=tyQEGkWYZMY
Dude you should really teach me how to play that, wicked job bro :D

Cool licks - thanks for the lesson. Neil could take lessons from you. Well, at least he can play the harmonica :)

While yur solo is pretty good in this song Neil doesn't even begin to play it like this. No shredding aloud in this song.

@licksnkicks Thanks for the comment. I know Neil made it different, but this is closer to a G3 version that I'd play with Satch and Vai ;)
