Keep in mind whose viewpoint this... one of a Florida doctor. Florida doctors and criminals make billions of dollars every year by overcharging Florida retirees on Medicare for care both real and imaginary. The "reforms" Obama is advancing are expected to cost over a trillion dollars, so of course this doctor supports it and the profits he will reap, the same way defense contractors supported Bush's military actions. It's also why the drug companies support this fleecing of the US taxpayer.
Uhh wait a minute... but the people who oppose the pubic option also claim that Medicare doesn't pay doctors as much as private insurers do and so doctors are supposedly dropping medicare patients.
I really wish you guys would make up your minds.
But yeah, Obama did give to much away to pharma and the right.
Which is why we should just go to a single payer which we already know works and reduces costs.
I don't see the contradiction. My point was that the doctor is biased in support of Obama because the doctor will see a personal financial benefit. Those who engage in fraud will also benefit from it to the extent to which new systems resemble Medicare. Medicare loses something like 60 billion dollars a year to fraud while covering about 30 million people, or $2,000 being stolen for each and every patient. If we can't fix Medicare, I don't see any reason to have faith in single payer.
Healthcare is not a right, it is a responsibility. Heathcare requires goods and services produced by labor, and no person has a right to benefit from the labor of another against that person's consent. To do so would be to legitimize slavery.
Reforms that give more people more care will not reduce costs. To the extent to which they reduce costs for some, they will increase them for others. A bill estimated to cost over $1,000,000,000,000 isn't going to do anything like reduce costs.
Its situational application of the law, we pay for bogus insurance - Corporate crooks get rich, Progressive utilizes dumb caricature to sell worthless insurance policies. There is nothing funny about death and mangled bodies. Progressive is nothing more than a Ponzi Scheme in which Corporate Executives such as Glen Renwick get rich and leave injured policy holders bogus insurance policies which are not worth the paper they are written on. See Progressive Insurance Has Treated Me as Roadkill
