I love radio talk shows and I've often wished there was a gun centered show to listen to maybe on the weekends. I'm glad Hickok does these because it fills that void.
You can open the slide on a Glock, manually stick a round into the chamber and let the slide drop on the round and it will close just fine. (extractor jumps over the case head) Try that on a 1911 with an Internal extractor and you will most likely damage the extractor and it probably wont close all the way with the round chambered. (Tried that on a 1911 as a teenager and got chewed out by my Dad :)
I would like to try the S&W 1911 or any other 1911 with the external extractor and see if there is a reliability improvement. I have a Kimber and have almost no problems with it. I personally think the main reliability secret with the glocks and other polymer wonders is the fact that the chamber is loose and the external extractor can jump over the rim of the case if it needs to with no problems. The Internal extractor 1911's HAVE TO feed the case head up under the extractor while chambering.

I really enjoy your radio shows. I have a ritual now. Every time you have a radio show I turn it on, grab the gun I recently shot, and sit down and listen while I clean it. Keep them coming because I have a lot of dirty guns to clean.
I don't know about this but has Hickock done a episode addressing pros and cons of shooting 22's and the philosophy of using one. I can understand the cost benefit and learning shooting basics like trigger control. But, personally, I don't see it ever replacing the time and training one puts into a 9mm or 45.
@trey2099 Can train 5x as much with 22lr vs 9mm. I would think someone who shoots 5x a month would be better at shooting than someone who shoots once a month, regardless of caliber.
@xsleef Bushmaster is a fairly decent brand but it would only be a good deal at that price if it were new or had mods done to it but then it is still dependent on the mods done.
@xsleef I should have also said that it is an average used pice not a great one. In my opinion you would probably be better off buying a new one for $800 you then wouldn't have to worry about damage done.

I think the GAOTS is the Mini-14. Might be the Socom M1a. I always thought the Schofield was really cool. Still can't justify spending $1000 dollars on one, especially if it has a Remington grip, that actually hurts my hand. LOL! I JUST got what "Shoot NC" means! @SamHagagaga That's a terrible comparison though... Hickock's videos are nothing like FPSRussia's. FPSRussia's videos are for being pure awesome and out there, like the AA12. Hickock's videos are the informative, calm videos that you watch to learn and see reasonable material. I love both equally for their respective reasons.

i think each one of them has a different reason for recording their videos for example: fpsrussia its kinda humoristic, nutnfancy gets really into the details of the weapons and gear.

Mix up 9 & 40. I made a similar error that I didn't think I could do. I accidentally stuck a 9mm rnd in a .40 mag and stuck in my G22 and it fired. Poorly, but it fired. I didn't think it would have worked! It was the end of a shoot & I had 1 .40 rnd left. I dropped it on the floor, picked it up and popped it in a mag by itself. Obviously picked up a 9mm instead that someone else dropped. Didn't seem to hurt anything.
About how your videos started, I liked it. I think you should start shooting in groups of similar guns, starting with a big branch video showing all the guns vaguely. Lever action November, anyone?

@xsleef Bushmaster is a fairly decent brand but it would only be a good deal at that price if it were new or had mods done to it but then it is still dependent on the mods done.

@xsleef I should have also said that it is an average used pice not a great one. In my opinion you would probably be better off buying a new one for $800 you then wouldn't have to worry about damage done.

Just started thinking about your 500th video. If this was a 1/2 hour TV show, you'd be starting your 20th season on the air. Awesome achievement. Love the radio show. The "planned meandering" format is great to listen to in the car.

I think the GAOTS is the Mini-14. Might be the Socom M1a. I always thought the Schofield was really cool. Still can't justify spending $1000 dollars on one, especially if it has a Remington grip, that actually hurts my hand. LOL! I JUST got what "Shoot NC" means! Please thumbs up my above comment to get the message out. Like Hickok says at the end, we should do what we can to help!

You can download RealPlayer free at real.com. That lets you download videos from youtube and other Internet sites. Then you can convert the file you download to an MP3 (or other format) in the RealConverter that comes with it. You only need the non-free, Plus version if you are doing H.264 media.

@SamHagagaga That's a terrible comparison though... Hickock's videos are nothing like FPSRussia's. FPSRussia's videos are for being pure awesome and out there, like the AA12. Hickock's videos are the informative, calm videos that you watch to learn and see reasonable material. I love both equally for their respective reasons.

i think each one of them has a different reason for recording their videos for example: fpsrussia its kinda humoristic, nutnfancy gets really into the details of the weapons and gear.
hickok records videos as if they were his first video and does a very casual thing.

Mix up 9 & 40. I made a similar error that I didn't think I could do. I accidentally stuck a 9mm rnd in a .40 mag and stuck in my G22 and it fired. Poorly, but it fired. I didn't think it would have worked! It was the end of a shoot & I had 1 .40 rnd left. I dropped it on the floor, picked it up and popped it in a mag by itself. Obviously picked up a 9mm instead that someone else dropped. Didn't seem to hurt anything.
