Hi Jeff, Much appreciate the 13 blade Renegrade spinning in very low wind velocity.
My understanding is be it 3 or 13 blades what is the purpose if you do NOT show Technical data on the correlation of wind speed in generating electrical output ie; watts per speed of the wind to the max, does it compare with the other two generators.Ashley;Toronto; afranc0452@yahoo.ca
Jeff you need to do a 16 blade it will do even better ,I have been doin 16 blades on my homemade geared gens for about 2 years now and have built them with 32 blades. It's good to see how well they do work ,when everyone else seemed to think it wouldn't help generator more power but it does ,even on a homemade rig as mine.Good showing I luv it
@losttreasurehunt Believe it or not the 13 blade does very well , better than i had thought it would. 16 blades would work for gear driven turbines, thinking outside the box is what i like to do. Engineers are always knocking more than 3 blades , BUT, most of them you talk to don't own a wind turbine, actually non of them i have talked to own a wind turbine. If it doesnt work on paper then how could it possibly work at all they ask.
yes but the crucial question, how much power does it convert at 2mph? I suspect that it would be very small, so we are more interested in the large power gains at high wind speeds, and hence the optimal 3 blade design for most locations.
@richiesvideo 3 large blades are not always the answer. They have problems with not being able to handle high wind and have to furl or be shut down. The 13 Raptor Generation 4 blades can withstand 125 mph winds. They have alot of torque, low wind startup and can do high speed. They have there purpose and so do the larger 3 blades. There is,nt any power in 2 mph wind for any blade, the video is just showing that once the 13 start running with a gust of wind you won't need another gust to run.
@jeffmolly1 Please make another video or data on the output of this 13 blade hub with generator solution. If it can generate any power at those low wind speeds it would be great. For example how much wattage can it produce with this generator at 2mph and 10mph? Thanks for the videos!
Go Jeff!! Small town boy is doing what the big corps and tonnes of cash can't. Keep it up. What's the furthest north you have functioning turbines? I live in northern ontario and can get some freakishly cold weather (-40c) in the wintertime. Will they function well at that temp too?
@jayluketa Yes they will funtion at that temp.We have them further north than Ontario. GoodChiii has a youtube channel and vids in Ontario.Good guy, contact him.
@jayluketaI can only tell you that the turbines work extremely well in very hot temperatures and next to the sea where the early morning mist that settles on the turbine is full of salt from the sea. I have an 800w Rebel that has been flying non stop with no problems what so ever! It has been keeping my battery bank always toped up and I have been running a fridge and energy saving light bulbs comfortably. Power production is consistent and a very robust pma. Location Greece.
Thats the shezznaz and let see any turbine do a low startup like that and the renagade 14 mag is really interesting how the blades are reacting with the wind? That a boy Jeff and Keep up the good work_Billy
Other than the price of extra blades is there a downside to 13 blades? Can you do a vid some time pertaing to the cost effectiveness of your solar and wind systems? At this point my electric bill probably averages $50.00 per month so it's hard to justify them for me but I'd still love a couple of them on the roof.
@599891 You can run two turbines in series for double the voltage at the same rpm. The best way to have two turbines in series is if they have similar pma's and bladesets. See our technical page on our website if you want to know how to wire your equipment in series or parallel. This is a great method of wiring for low wind hot summer days.
@599891 Not really any downside to 13 blades. There very quiot and start sooner than any other blade set on the market. If you normally have high wind you would not want 13 blades. Less blades are faster . If you have a pma or electric motor that needs alot of torque than 13 blades will work.

WORLD RECORD: BIGGEST WIND TURBINE
windturbinecarriedbywheels.weebly.com
ZERO-NOISE from the gears and the generators because they are silenced underground (Only the outer parts of the turbines may create sound.).
This SAVES THE BIRDS AND BATS (since slow-moving) and helps the wind energy companies (since it is FREE FOR ALL.).

Nice, any insight on the typical amp/watt yield at say 1-2 mph with this 13 blader?

@freironn1 This video has nothing to do with output. I am just showing the new 13 blade hub and how low it can go.
