@juulexyz facebook works through fido internet, not sure about twitter. Phone doesn't have wifi unfortunently. you can get unlimited internet browsing addon for $10/month.. u can use it everywhere but its slow as fk since phone uses edge not 3G

@Jcrazyninja You can get on to youtube, and go through videos..but at that point, when you try to view a video. It will not allow you. It will tell you that there is an error and will not allow you to view the video. In regards to getting on FB. It's very easy and quick, and you can pretty much anything that you could do using a regular internet browser. I update my status add friends from the phone all the time :)

How the heck can you change your own personal character on livesquare. I tried asking LG but they say they dont have access to this phone lol They said I can select me by holding down the button but there is no way of scrolling to "ME" or pressing on anything. There is only the ok button and when you press that it goes to the menu. I just want me to be a girl or an animal not a boy with a tie GRR!!!!
@msshawty1516 Go into the profiles, and select the NORMAL profile or the one you have customized and use most regularly. Select 'EDIT' and then scroll down to key tone, and select NO SOUND.
@swittiejan other than the little indicator in the top right hand of the home screen, I do not think this phone came with a setting option that will tell you the percentage. I can tell you it has a power save option..which you can set to 'always on' 'night only' or off. The battery life on this phone is stellar
@MarineFocus I really would like to do the same..I love to take hilarious and discreet photos of my friends and post on FB ..but the camera is a snitch now.. The only thing I can think of is pressing your thumb titghtly against the speaker on the backk..lol so far that is the only solution i can find.

@ACWTV1 I don't think so just because once you save your contacts, you assgin the avatars to them, so when that number calls to your cellphone it should get picked up from your saved contact.

So im thinking of getting this phone and I wanted know if Fido is a good. From other reviews people seem to say its hard to type, its really slow. can you tell me if that is true? Also, can you get wifi on this phone or do you have to pay extra for internet connection? please can you tell me more about the phone and if i should get it. Tell me about if its easy to type or not, about the wifi, and about it being slow.
@roughgirl25 I honestly can only speak about my own experience. I don't think that th ephone is slow, it works perfectly fine for me.. The biggest complain that anyone has with the LG Gossip is that it has poor call quality sometimes. I have in fact had a few calls where the people I were speaking too sounded "muffled" The phone does not have wifi, but you can add 1$/day internet plans or like 5.99 monthly web plans. and you can use google, Facebook and other apps, also there is a msn app.
@roughgirl25 The msn app I think now can only be used free when you add a data plan, I use msn free everyday; but it may very well be free still. The phone is $90 I think it's worth it because of the full keyboard, and also it has threaded texts so you can see the conversations back and forth between you and people you text. Its a good phone. Go to Fido ask to see the Gossip turned on and get a feel for it.
Fido is great with it. In Canada it is 0$ for a 2 year deal. For everyone saying the phone is slow, yes it can be. But all you have to do is delete your inbox and sent items and it immediately becomes fast again

my battery meter won't change..like it says it's full but when i was talking on the phone it just shut off..and even without charging my phone for 2 days the battery meter didn't change at all..is that normal or is it just my phone??
@guitarchick1313 I do not think this is normal but I dropped my phone a few days ago and it kept saying my battery was empty even though it had been charging I turned the phone off removed the battery and then put it back in and plugged in the charger before turning it on and it is now back to normal. Anything that seems to be wrong hardware-wise I'd def. take back to Fido.! good luck!
@fuc3t 1. Go to SETTINGS 2. Go to Screen 3. Select Screen Theme 4. Select Homescreen 5. It then has two options.. My wallpaper and Livesquare.. Select Livesquare.
p.s. You have to program your contacts livesquare characters. When you add them as contacts save them in yourphone and customize the character you want!
@SynisterFiend It's more than serves it's purpose for 90.00 I have shoes that cost more than the phone cost me. It has a wicked mp3 player, and a radio. And the msn (although I believe Rogers has clamped ont his was free..and might still be free.. :9

@mareike372 highlight one of your inbox text messages and then select options. Option 4 is 'general view' standard text or option 6 is 'threaded view' a tracking of texts back and forth. select the view you want.!

When I add a contact I don't see any way to apply an avatar to them. Could you give me a step-by-step instruction on how to go about this? Also is there a way to apply an avatar to an existing contact? right now my avatars are all random and half of them are ugly haha.
@nicoleobidowski Go to 'Contacts' --> Select anyone in your list---> select options and 'edit' (5)--->if you scroll down the information you can add for contact right after RINGTONE you'll see a smiley face in a conversation bubble.. that is where you select the avatar you want to use. Press okay first then it will pull up a window and you can surf through to choose from a bunch of animals, people or creatures as avatars for your freinds. <3 Good luck.
@xXTheRealBrunoXx you can use the short key that is ' j' or go to SETTINGS-->Profiles--> you can select 'silent' and then edit and turn on vibrate for the silent option, or you can edit on of the customized profiles to just vibrate. good luck
@WollaPoluza You have too many things savied in the multitask .. ths is why whenever there are four open applications or events in the multitask ..texting becomes impossible.. It'll tell you you cannot.. just close some other apps. I always have browser, two different text messaging events and like an alarm clock open in my mulitask ..they pile up in a sense.. just open multi task and clear out the events and apps you have open simutaneously.

@brahimkgp When you add a contact you have to go down and select an avatar for them that will be used on Livesquare. Save your house phone number in your phone, and then pick one of the avatars.. Then call your cell from the house phone..you'll see the avatar pop up.. DOn't forget to select livesquare as your theme first XD

@bboyvhorn Well it doesn't come fully charged..you are just supposed to drain the charge they put on it..and then charge it until it's full. :) enjoy.

@EvilRockandRoller yes you can go to messages and select threaded view that way you see your messages in chronological order between you and the different people you are texting.
Sorry, one more question. How is the key size? I have fairly large hands/fingers. The Neon has a nice large keyboard, but the reviews for it are really bad. I like the looks of the Gossip, but the keys look so tiny! :)
@lindasko the keys size is perfect. I consider it to be good size and you'll adjust to it easily. I have the clumsiest web fingers. lol and I can use the keyboard easily.

@mitbaps4 hey to break it to you, but as far as I know there is no WIFI on the phone, and the Mobile MAIL is disabled by fido, because it was a free APP. The FIDO IM is what you use to log into MSN or Yahoo, have you changed the settings at all, I can tell you my settings but we probably have do it over the tele.

@QueenVeeEe this phone does NOT have wifi. wifi is a wireless internet that is transferred from a normal modem internet (e.g. computer/wired). its free to use for many electronic gadgets but u have to pay for the monthly internet fee to your normal internet provider. some public places like cafes and restaurants provide wifi for free.
ok, this is a little weird. on the homescreen you have 'messaging, shortcuts' and i have 'my stuff, contacts'. and we have different order. maybe because mine is not 'fido'. and everything that's yellow to you, is red to me. o.o
and about this 'treaded messaging'. i'm not sure I have it. do you have to go somewhere in the settings, or do you automatically have it?

Tried silenting EVERYTHING on the phone... Yet the shutter sound is STILL there...
I've heard that you have to manually delete the sounds, but I'm not sure on that

So im thinking of getting this phone and I wanted know if Fido is a good. From other reviews people seem to say its hard to type, its really slow. can you tell me if that is true? Also, can you get wifi on this phone or do you have to pay extra for internet connection? please can you tell me more about the phone and if i should get it. Tell me about if its easy to type or not, about the wifi, and about it being slow.

@roughgirl25 I honestly can only speak about my own experience. I don't think that th ephone is slow, it works perfectly fine for me.. The biggest complain that anyone has with the LG Gossip is that it has poor call quality sometimes. I have in fact had a few calls where the people I were speaking too sounded "muffled" The phone does not have wifi, but you can add 1$/day internet plans or like 5.99 monthly web plans. and you can use google, Facebook and other apps, also there is a msn app.

@roughgirl25 The msn app I think now can only be used free when you add a data plan, I use msn free everyday; but it may very well be free still. The phone is $90 I think it's worth it because of the full keyboard, and also it has threaded texts so you can see the conversations back and forth between you and people you text. Its a good phone. Go to Fido ask to see the Gossip turned on and get a feel for it.

Fido is great with it. In Canada it is 0$ for a 2 year deal. For everyone saying the phone is slow, yes it can be. But all you have to do is delete your inbox and sent items and it immediately becomes fast again

To turn off the keypad volume is simple. 1. Profiles. 2. Select the profile you use most often ..so for myself 'normal' and then select 'edit' 3. Scroll down to Key Tone and select 'NO SOUND' you can also go to Key tone volume and turn it down if you just want it lower.
For the camera shutter sound I do not think that you can't turn it off I have looked and it only allows

my battery meter won't change..like it says it's full but when i was talking on the phone it just shut off..and even without charging my phone for 2 days the battery meter didn't change at all..is that normal or is it just my phone??

@guitarchick1313 I do not think this is normal but I dropped my phone a few days ago and it kept saying my battery was empty even though it had been charging I turned the phone off removed the battery and then put it back in and plugged in the charger before turning it on and it is now back to normal. Anything that seems to be wrong hardware-wise I'd def. take back to Fido.! good luck!

@fuc3t 1. Go to SETTINGS 2. Go to Screen 3. Select Screen Theme 4. Select Homescreen 5. It then has two options.. My wallpaper and Livesquare.. Select Livesquare.
p.s. You have to program your contacts livesquare characters. When you add them as contacts save them in yourphone and customize the character you want!

@jmo69 that is the SD memory card image, it tells you that you have external memory in the phone. if you remove the chip it should dissapear.

Hey Good Luck if you do decide to get the phone.
1. The resolution is very good. You pictures and wall papers will look amazing.
2. It does have th eoption to 'thread' your conversations or use the general unthreaded view.
3. The case sells at a lot of independent phone kiosks.. (Still not available at Fido) for 10.00.

When I add a contact I don't see any way to apply an avatar to them. Could you give me a step-by-step instruction on how to go about this? Also is there a way to apply an avatar to an existing contact? right now my avatars are all random and half of them are ugly haha.

@nicoleobidowski Go to 'Contacts' --> Select anyone in your list---> select options and 'edit' (5)--->if you scroll down the information you can add for contact right after RINGTONE you'll see a smiley face in a conversation bubble.. that is where you select the avatar you want to use. Press okay first then it will pull up a window and you can surf through to choose from a bunch of animals, people or creatures as avatars for your freinds. <3 Good luck.

@xXTheRealBrunoXx you can use the short key that is ' j' or go to SETTINGS-->Profiles--> you can select 'silent' and then edit and turn on vibrate for the silent option, or you can edit on of the customized profiles to just vibrate. good luck

Live square only has two themes to my knowledge ...park and zoo. i am still trying to figure how to change the avatar in the middle.

i have this phone and when i send a couple messages it doesnt let me send anymore messages.
its not the inbox thats full because i would have about 7 messages
so in order to send a text i have to delete my inbox/outbox and then do it over again.

@WollaPoluza You have too many things savied in the multitask .. ths is why whenever there are four open applications or events in the multitask ..texting becomes impossible.. It'll tell you you cannot.. just close some other apps. I always have browser, two different text messaging events and like an alarm clock open in my mulitask ..they pile up in a sense.. just open multi task and clear out the events and apps you have open simutaneously.

@brahimkgp When you add a contact you have to go down and select an avatar for them that will be used on Livesquare. Save your house phone number in your phone, and then pick one of the avatars.. Then call your cell from the house phone..you'll see the avatar pop up.. DOn't forget to select livesquare as your theme first XD

Sorry, one more question. How is the key size? I have fairly large hands/fingers. The Neon has a nice large keyboard, but the reviews for it are really bad. I like the looks of the Gossip, but the keys look so tiny! :)

I was debating between the Gossip and Neon (Neon has lots of very bad reviews, almost no good ones). One thing PhoneArena posted is that you can't enter alot of URLs because they are too long and the phone will reject it. How about on the Gossip? Thanks!!

@mitbaps4 hey to break it to you, but as far as I know there is no WIFI on the phone, and the Mobile MAIL is disabled by fido, because it was a free APP. The FIDO IM is what you use to log into MSN or Yahoo, have you changed the settings at all, I can tell you my settings but we probably have do it over the tele.

@QueenVeeEe this phone does NOT have wifi. wifi is a wireless internet that is transferred from a normal modem internet (e.g. computer/wired). its free to use for many electronic gadgets but u have to pay for the monthly internet fee to your normal internet provider. some public places like cafes and restaurants provide wifi for free.

ok, this is a little weird. on the homescreen you have 'messaging, shortcuts' and i have 'my stuff, contacts'. and we have different order. maybe because mine is not 'fido'. and everything that's yellow to you, is red to me. o.o
and about this 'treaded messaging'. i'm not sure I have it. do you have to go somewhere in the settings, or do you automatically have it?
