  • im okay with the word AFRICAN since those haircuts belongs to African people who were using those haircuts centuries ago...but the word American is just too much

  • u relaxx your hair why would u eva straiting ya hair ya hair ganna brake or jjust fall off ova night the hair allwready relax dnt need 2 let it be thin annuff :)

  • I sorry but you ARE not pressing the hair correctly. If you press the hair correctly it will NOT thinned the hair it will make the hair thick and long. To test the comb you need two tissues paper, the comb shouldn't turn the tissue paper brown it's should stay white. The comb is still hot but it's not hot enough to damage your hair. You should be train to use a pressing comb. My mother teach me how to press hair she is a professional hair dresser. Not hard to learn either.

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW A GOOD BLACK HAIR SALON IN ORANGE COUNTY CALIFORNIA..I GOTTA FIND ONE TO GET MY DAUGHTERS HAIR RELAXED..ANY RESPONSE WITH HELP..THANX

  • @STOPHAYTIN1 please PLEASE don't relax your daughters hair

  • wth is african american hair?

  • @brennaomi people of the African American race's hair? isn't that kind obvious...?

  • @sparkelgirl11 term is incorrect....and do u mean black race's hair? black hair comes in all different textures

  • A few things...People generally have different hair types, textures and thickness of hair, people saying her hair is thin don't actually know what her natural hair thickness is. Some people have fine hair, medium and others thick. Then there is the hair texture and type, we all have different hair textures and types.

Too much heat can damage the hair, but with adequate protective products on the hair, this can be avoided.

Regular trims and dusting can prevent split ends and thin hair.

  • Wanted to say hello! Anyone that loves hair like me needs to stick together!

  • We are all about hair and beauty and thought we had a lot in common!

  • @ChinesePinoy619

Listen to yourself. You sound like a nutcase....LOL

  • i vow to never get a perm again her hair is thin a damaged eww

  • i like your videos.

  • @KagendaK NO! I already educated myslef, let me educate you! Im black, and being black ppl we need to face the fact that we do have bad hair ! And just because Im black doesnt mean I cant call someone a blackass. DUH! And u call me stupid? AND HELL YA I DO LOVEEEEEEEEE JUSTIN BIEBER!!! I rather talk to him then you! SO could u please get out of my life? okay, thankyou :) OH AND P.S. relaxers arent bad! I started relaxing my hair 2 yrs ago. and know my hair is 3 inches longer!

  • @JBieberFanLuv your a fool! how is any type of hair bad? hair comes in different textures and colors thats just about it. Not all black people have tightly curled hair you dummy. And no, there is isnt anything wrong with relaxers, they just arent for everyone. But while your putting that creamy crack in your hair you might want to watch the move Good Hair, and learn about the dangers of those chemicals smart ass.

  • @JBieberFanLuv

three inches ohhh lol sweetheart that's not a lot of growth at all in 2 yrs

  • @JBieberFanLuv maybe if thats all the growth youve gotten in 2yrs you should try going natural and condition it every week with little or no heat/straightening. youll get 3inches in a few months! then again, u dont like the way your hair is so thats why u perm right? black ppl need to understand that our hair isn't "bad".

  • @JBieberFanLuv

First off, that is not a lot of growth. my hair grows like an inch every 1 1/2 - 2 months. And black people do NOT have bad hair, our texture is just wound tighter than whites/asians. At least our hair doesn't damage as easily as white people's.... If you see a middle-aged white woman chances are her hair will be extremely damaged and burnt. Teens too, because teasing is getting really popular and that damaged the hair cuticles. So yes, you DO need to educate yourself.

  • You don't put heat on a fresh perm......Uhhhhhhhhh......,,,are you some type of RE-ject?

  • That is the advantage in myself being Biracial. (Black/White)

I don't have to deal with screwed up African girl hair.

  • @Sinnerswing Oh please am black/white too and style is style. If she want the straight style, let her, just don't mess up your hair. It don't mean her hair is bad!!!!!

  • Why Would She Use A Straight Comb On Her Hair It Doesnt Need To Be Anymore Straight Hair Looks Really Thin -____-

  • why would you use ah straight comb on her hair if it was relaxer!!??? I never use a hot comb!!!

  • You don't put heat on a fresh perm......Uhhhhhhhhh......,,,is she some type of RE-ject?

  • You might think it looks nice now but about 10-20 years later she would have hair growth problems..

  • @ChinesePinoy619

Keep looking at all of the videos with people straightening their hair and you will see women from all races (including "Asians") straightening their hair. By the way, I do not know any black people who want to be Asian! I would tell you all the reasons why black people do not want to be Asian, but I have a heart and I do not wish to lower your self-esteem anymore than it already is. I feel so bad for people like you!

  • @ChinesePinoy619 there is NO PLACE FOR RACISM in 2010. twenty-fucking-ten ! step it up. black people are better than resorting to being racist on EVERY video in EVERY OTHER COMMENT. do you see a video with "cracker" or "chink" or "dog muncher" comments everywhere? no. black people are ABOVE THAT. but YOU on EVERY video have SOMETHING to say about black people...i dont get it. if you hate them SO much, why are you watching them?? dont you have a job or something? a nail salon to manage, perhaps?

  • my hair is natural and just well puffy and this video helps me alot cuz when i straighten my hair the flat iron burns my scalp so know that i no theres a thing called straightening comb i dont need flat iorn anymore deuces c ya flat iron would wanna b ya

  • lol that lady that in tha chair looks like dammit stop talking and do my hair lol

  • I LOVE YOU

  • this help me alot i love it

  • Being a hairdresser myself (UK), there is no way on earth that I would use a pressing come on a clients roots to straighten them out like that, her clients hair is so limp with no life. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

  • Even though she got a perm sometimes when you get a perm your hair may not be as straight so you just press it a little bit around the edges... And if she greases her hair she should be fine

  • This doesn't tell me HOW to use it!

  • Thanks for sharing this video.

I just made a video about relaxing hair using all natural ingredients between chemical straightening dates. The relaxer does not make your hair bone straight but certainly relaxes hair.

Let me know how / if it worked for you & please subscribe. Many more videos on hair care to come!

  • this is more for unrelaxed hair.

  • Everyone person that is watching this should buy me a perm box!!!

  • When you are in between relaxers...straightening the roots with a straightening comb is actually not harsh on the hair. I tend to go more than 6 weeks between relaxers because the chemical process is much more harsh on the hair. I have long, healthy hair as a result.

  • ATTENTION:WHEN U RELAX UR HAIR...U DO NOT USE HEAT U USE A ROLLER SET WHEN U RELAX UR HAIR...!AND WHO USES A STRAIGHTENING COMB ANYMORE...U CAN TELL SHE DOESNT KNOW WHAT SHES DOING.!!THIS MAKES ME MAD TO SEE THIS.

  • She Obviously don't know what she is doing

  • WOW....i never wanna go back to this kind of hair ever again. Her hair looks thin and lifeless. I guess just because she has some length on it, its supposed to be nice hair.Dont think so....not hating, some black women do really well with relaxers. But majority dont, i gotta say. I just hate to see black womens hair this way =(

  • @blackbutterfly85100 u SOOOO right and some women want to put a relaxer on already damaged hair and wonder why their hair isnt growing.!these ppl need to wake up.!

  • Okay. I was wondering if anyone can help me? Im a teenage girl who is white english/ west indie mixed race. I have very very thick hair and its very curly buut if you dare brush it it goes frizzy and wont go normal again :( and i would like to do something new with it. Its half way down my back and i will not cut it shorter, only trim the ends. any suggestions would be very appreciated :) x

  • @lazrababes hey! i'm mixed too and your hair sounds a lot like mine, lol--but there are a few things you need to know; you do need a haircut--not shorter, but smarter; instead of one length of hair, hair like ours works best cut in LONG LAYERS...same length overall, but the layers make our hair stay nicer whether we style it curly or straight; you know how sometimes your hair poofs out into a triangle shape when its you try to wear it down? layers help that

  • @lazrababes want to wear a curly style? shampoo/condition/ then rinse...then while its still damp use a hair lotion or alcohol free gel and take small sections all over your head and twist them with a little product on your hands one at a time...want to wear it straight? shampoo/condition/rinse add heat protectant, blowdry hair in sections with a roundbrush [your hair will be half straight but totally dry when done] now flatiron in small sections root to tip, add shine serum

  • @lazrababes other tips; don't get crazy, flatironing is damaging so only do this once a month [it lasts for 3-5 days, sometimes longer]...don't pull your hair back too often or you'll break off your hairline...don't use products with alcohol in them, curly hair needs moisture and alcohol is drying...i like tresemme heat tamer, fx special effects silk drops, pre con gel, summit liv cream hairdressing, a flat iron that reaches 350-410 degrees...if you want curls, no hairbrush-style with your hands

  • @aqualily625 i shure as hell do so shut up

  • I think she did a good job demonstrating how to hot comb wavy roots, I use a hot comb to straighten my wavy roots, I mean, what esle can she use to straighten the roots? And sometimes, you will need a bit of heat to straighten relaxed hair, but I advise women to get a rollerset or a wet wrap because it's more healthier for the hair and that goes for all race of women..

  • Wow...The title shouls read "How to kill your hair" because this is just awful

  • when she said the phrase "needs a relaxer" i dont think she was saying it with the thought of "ur hair is horrible, not beautiful, etc" ... i think she was referring to it as "this girl has a relaxer, and if shes going to keep relaxing, then now is the time because she has new growth"

  • i dont think i can use a hot comb myself on my own hair, how much would it cost to get a professional to do it? and how long does it last on natural hair before it goes back to its natural texture?

  • @itzyourcrayons between $35-50; it'll last until its humid outside/or you get any type of water on it...when i used to get mine it was 3-5 days [i have a dry scalp so any longer and it starts looking...not cute] but if you have a healthy scalp you're probably looking at 5-7 days; if you get a good flat iron and wash/condition/rinse/heat protectant/blow dry with brush/flat iron /shine serum and practice, you can achieve this! get it done once at a salon, learn some tips to take home with you

  • @raem16 oh lol i already do all of that, i guess there isn't no point in going is there? but one question, i straighten my hair every week. if straightened hair reverts back b/c of moisture how do i balance moisturizing and keeping my hair straight without having to use any heat during the week or it getting so curly and kinky when i moisturize?

  • @itzyourcrayons oil based hair products moisturize without making your hair go curly-careful not to put on too much product and your hair ends up feeling greasy and looks clumpy; usually when your hairs straight you can use a dime to nickel sized amount and disperse it through your hair and wrap your hair before bed everynight; deep condition once a week, i like silk elements mega cholestorol conditioning-leave it on for 10+ minutes and rinse

  • @itzyourcrayons you may have to touch up some sections throughout the week, but if you're religious about conditioning once a week and wrapping your hair every night with an oil based product [when straight i just use fx special effects silk drops-a little goes a long way!] it won't be a big deal--if you sweat during the week, the roots usually need a touch up a couple mornings, but you shouldn't have to redo the whole head of hair

  • @raem16 thanks!!

  • @itzyourcrayons lol no problem....hope it helped! it took me a lot of trial and error to figure my hair out, lol

  • wow if its going to melt your hair a flat iron is definitely 100 times better

  • @queenforlife404 they'll both ruin your hair if you overuse them

  • Real hair doesnt melt it burns but wont melt

  • I would like to get a set of hot combs like you use in the video. Can you tell me where I can purchase them. I've looked all over the net for them but to no avail.

  • @TheFilmbroad try sally beauty...its called a stove iron...a comb is like 15 dollars but its the stove that makes the difference because it gets up to ridiculous temperatures and those can be $50+

  • never knew how strongly people felt about whether or not to get a relaxer hmmmmm

  • this is so so wrong. classic case of a so called hair stylist that will keep your hair damaged to keep you coming back SMDH

  • the hairstylist kinda reminds me of jada pinkett smith

  • I don't understand why people take a simple thing and want to make it into a war of words online. People do things to their hair, because they want to for whatever reason. I don't get why people judge and act as if they are trying to be something they're not. If someone wants to straighten their hair who cares it's not your hair. If you think a natural fresh out of the jungle look is perfectly fine then go with it, and save your melodramatic judgements for people who will care.

  • @aqualily625

actually you would be surprised at all the people who need a relaxer

  • @BGurl40 need a relaxer? are you kidding me? what is that suppose to mean? need a relaxer. so their natural hair isnt good enough? wow smdh

  • @mimi42428 yup

  • "What in the World are you doing?" This is 2010!! Why do you INSIST on promoting this UNNATURAL LOOK? Who are you trying to look like? Take a good LONG look in the mirror, and access who really you are, and where the ROOTS of your heritage is and I surely thiink that you will THROW THE STRAIGHTENING COMB FAR....AWAY. "check out the natural; hair web page, and it will cuse you to re-think of the abuse that you are doing to your beautiful natural hair."

  • @JBieberFanLuv Excuse me, i AM black, just becuz i support not trying to look like white people, that dont mean im not black. And why would people need a relaxer. Just learn to take care of your natural hair properly and stop being lazy, thinking that frying out your hair will help it.

  • @aqualily625 yeah I agree people don't need them but black girls grow up on relaxers. Their parent's give them relaxers and the child doesn't know its damaging so they get into their 20s before they research and realize just how bad it is for them. Can't blame people for thinking they need them, just help them educate themselves.

  • @staindstreams totally agree

  • make the hair melt???

    the fuck?????

  • If you straighten wiry hair it's STILL wiry and tough and gross.

  • Where can u get that?

  • @westonward78 A lot don't.

  • what the fuck???

  • Straight hair FTW

  • @westonward78 thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard in my life

  • Comment removed

  • i NEVER perm my hair, i love my full nap, my hairs is sooo long nnow cuz i havent permed it in 7 years...the last time i permed it was my highschool grad and since then i havent permed it, i work, wat do i gotta perm it for, just braid it up and save the fancy hair-dos for special VERY special occasions you know

  • @nctm6473476897 U CAN DO MORE THINK WITH YOUR HAIR NAPPY RIGHT I LUV MY NAPPY HAIRR

  • thanks for posting this...Im trying to go natural I use to have preety hair but I relaxed it so much it's trying to repair itself, this gave me a lil more assurance to not get any more perms...

  • @nctm6473476897 iTotally Agree With Yu iWish iKnown Yu Before iGet My Hair Permed iMiss My Curly Hair ALOT And Having A Perm Is Not Worth It But iDo Maintain To Keep My Hair Really Healthy But Still Even If My Permed Hair Was The Most Healthiest Hair In The World It Is Nothing COmpared To My Curly Hair iHad When iWas Little -__-

  • wow. this is completely incorrect. smh...that lady's hair is going to be so damaged. smh

  • This stuff is not good at all and the chemicals do make their way into the body. There is evidence to suggest that it even affects brain chemistry. Don't think that the government cares about warning you about any of this either because they only want your money to stimulate the economy. Black women spend more than 2 BILLION DOLLARS annually to alter the hair that they are constantly taught is unattractive. It's ridiculous. $2,000,000,000 NOT on education, NOT on healthier eating, BUT HAIR!!!!!!

  • Well the economy needs its so why not help!! im sorry but I want managable hair having the natural look is not for everybody....but everybody is different so why are people always knocking those who choose to do something different with their hair?

  • @brimccurd It's hardly "different". ATLEAST 98% of black women chemically straighten their hair. If the economy needs it why not invest in healthier eating or education? Why trade in dignity and a good self outlook and health for a brief boost in the economy?

If you wanted a style that's easy to maintain guess what? A shaved head is the easiest of all styles to manage.

  • I say maybe 70% I work around black people. BLACK WOMEN! and i see black women with NATURAL HAIR. and that includes myself.

  • @pinkpostergirl 70% of black women with permed hair. Meaning 30% with natural That would be a pretty bold and powerful statement. In all seriousness i wish that the numbers were that high.

I would love to see that. But the money don't lie.

  • If you a black man. You are already hateful and biased against black women. So your opinion doesn't hold any weight.

Many black women NOW are starting to go natural. Thats all the black women talk about is growing out their hair natural this is at my work. I press my hair and it can easily be mistaken for relaxed and many black women wear wigs. But underneath that its natural hair. I stand by what i say 30% natural.

  • @pinkpostergirl I wasn't aware that wigs were natural and I wasn't aware that pressed was natural. As I understood things, I thought that natural meant just that, it's worn natural as in the way iit grow from the scalp out and into the open air.

It's still much better than harsh chemicals.

  • @thethingkid

Women who have natural hair sometimes wear wigs to switch up their hairstyles without having to use heat or chemicals. And You are obviously a hateful and biased black man. YOU DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING about black women's hair. Black men complaining about bw's hair WHY DONT' THEY DO OUR HAIR FOR US. Last time i check black men are checking for non-black women with straight hair. I don't see them looking at natural black women unless they are truely pro-black which MOST AREN'T

  • @pinkpostergirl I LOLed at you calling me hateful for your own misinterpretations of my message. Last time I checked the typical African American women will teach her sons and daughters that light skin, straight hair, and light eyes are attractive qualities. Are you going to blame black men for seeking out what they are taught to whether it be consciously, or unintentionally?

  • @thethingkid i WAS never TAUGHT those things by my mom, and black women STILL find black men attractive its black men who don't find bw attractive.

Black men know whats going and don't give a damn. YES THEY ARE TO BE BLAMED, their mom did not teach them non-black women were better or more attractive. ITS NOT BLACK WOMEN WHO TEACH THAT STUFF, its the satanic and racist media that does. you put the all the black on BW when its BM'S FAULT For not standing up and taking care of their WOMEN.

  • @pinkpostergirl Hardly, my sisters were taught this nonsense by my mother and this is the case with EVERY black women. They are responsible because they choose not to separate the their daughters from the images that the media works so hard to pound into their heads. It's not that hard to turn off the television and it's not that hard to stop the empty traditions.

  • @thethingkid i have a question. Do you date outside your race, and do you date black women with natural hair. PLEASE ANSWER THAT, cause i can see what you are about.

  • @pinkpostergirl Yes I date outside of my race. I do NOT and will NEVER date a European woman though. I prefer natural black women however it's rare that I meet one and when I do they are either dating(or have dated) a white man, which completely knocks their asses off of my potential date list, or they are lesbian.

  • @thethingkid i knew you wouldnt answer my question. Your just another bm trying to complain about something about bw. When you never dated a bw with natural hair. and even if all bw had natural hair, that would not be enough. So stop worry about bw hair

  • @pinkpostergirl

yeah thats true.Half wigs are super popular they used to be called FALLS. White women wear wigs too, they also get extensions. Some of them have nappy hair. I was in Germany and lot of them needed some OIL sheen and just conditioner. Some countries people do not care so much about looks as we do here in usa

  • Comment removed

  • @thethingkid 98%? Really? Got a source on that?

    No anecdotes either.

  • @AnnaSmee Source> Common knowledge? Hell even black women in the military are forced to chemically alter their hair.

2,000,000,000 dollars annually spent on hair chemicals. I suppose all of that money could be shelled out by 10%...an extremely rich 10%

  • @thethingkid God, you are so stupid.

  • I agree. I'm 100% natural, never got a perm in my life and I respect women's rights to have and want one. As I grow my hair out I think about relaxing more and more, but I'd miss the thickness and fullness that comes effortlessly with it. Not to be racist but we as black woman always have to find SOMETHING to bash each other about. Black hair is black hair at the end of the fricken day.

  • It looks like she's being burned over and over again, oh well.

Perms and relaxers are two different things, hun.

  • wow! Talk about damge...HEAT on top OF CHEMICALS....That is why so many of us are bald or have damaged hair...She is gunna have to get a weave or a wig or cut it off in six months. All hairdressers wanna do is make your hair look bone straight so they can do styles with it....then your hair is left a reck inside...

its kida like when you take off acrylic nails.

  • So true hats why I dont use chemicals im all natural

  • @KruBahbie me too I'm done with perm. I will use heat but I havent permed my hair in about two years...when you think about it, perm is friggin crazy

  • @KruBahbie You can't really blame the hair dresser for that. If people get damaged hair it's because they allowed it from the beginning.

  • @KruBahbie AMEN!!!!! MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!

  • @KruBahbie exactly

  • @KruBahbie Yep, That's why I don't always go to the salon, I mainly do it myself now. People always call themselves experts if they can do African American hair. What they don't understand is, they need to be experts in NOT damaging our hair.

  • im not african though i was curious about hot combs.

whats a hair relaxer lolz sorry im 12.

  • @vanessa5240228 Its um a chemical thing and it makes your hair go straight. lol im 12 too xD

  • fucking Cocolos!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I don't believe in racism nor that races exist in the 1st place. However my little drunk rant so I could get some steem off my chest seems to have brought out the dumbest shit to say from most people, who STILL haven't gotten wise to the fact (even though I've already stated this) that I was just having some fun. So maybe those people need to be more thorough when looking through my comments without uttering a single word through the commenting function at me.

  • nice

  • use a heat protetcant wen using stove irons like that other wise it really burns the hair

  • so don't you use any heat protectant?

  • i know her ass was burned rofl!

    HAHAHAHA!!

  • i am african american it only means that we are derived from africans but live in america just the same as mexican americans jamaican americans and european americans its just an identifier

  • my mother has thick caribeann hair thats curly but doesnt grow into an afro , it can grow to her waste if she wanted it to but she likes to keep it short because its so much hair to comb out.
