Thks for the video I have a problem, even if I already updated the metadata file Ctrl+s or in the menu, and it creates the sidecarfile, nor Bridge, Photoshop or photomechanic will see the new keyword... what can be happening? regards
@Leonbartolome Sidecar files are used by Lightroom to store metadata without altering the relevant Raw file. If you want metadata written to a file for use in other applications, you will need to work with .dng files or create a TIFF file that you then open in the other application. Search Adobe LR3 help for "metadata sidecar" and check out the first article that comes up: "About Metadata and XMP".
@ballykealey1 I guess so, but dates already form an important part of the EXIF metadata so the only real benefit would be, say, if you wanted the date to be turned into a tag by services like flickr.
@starfedrogue Thanks. Lightroom doesn't want to search on dates but I've overcome the problem by using a non numeric tab ie for picture taken in 2011 I use the tab 'eleven'. This way I can search by year. 2002 will have the tab 'two'. Keep up the good work.
@cjphoto1 If I speak slowly people complain it's not fast enough. If I speak quickly other people complain it's not slow enough. If I try a happy medium they all complain it's not slow or fast enough.
You know what? It's clear advice being given away for free. That's the important bit.
@hakan1218vids It's a text overlay applied in Sony Vegas. You can do something similar in virtually all video editing software, even Windows Movie Maker.
@BTheHeretic Okay, you need to choose "Contains All" as your filtering premise, and then the words you want to exclude begin with an exclamation point. For example, "Contain All: vehicle !truck".
Really appreciate your video. You are very clear in your delivery and this video is a winner.Thanks.

Does Lightroom do keyword exclusion?
Say, I want to search everything tagged "vehicle", but leave out images with "truck".
That's such a basic thing, but Bridge doesn't do that, which is most infuriating.
