@circusboy90210 If you are going to put your uninformed opinions on the web, be prepared to provide evidence. You have none. You will be challenged here with hard facts.
@circusboy90210 We have converted over 250,000 vehicles world wide. Please direct us to just one person that has bought our kit, or another kit, and their fuel lines corroded away. There has to be just one unhappy customer out there. Since you are the expert on fuel lines, can you please point us to your research.
Hey Snaple07, I have a 91 Ford Probe GL 2.2L that I have been running on E85. I bought the kit from Change2E85. I didn't buy the cold start version and regret that part of it. It doesn't have to be cold out either. if you want to run 100% E85, get the cold start. The kit is just a passive device that takes your injector input from the computer and increases the injector open time what around 15-20%
@circusboy90210 Some fuel lines? Name one type. FYI - one of our conversion systems is EPA Certified. Do you really think the EPA would give us a Certification if it corroded fuel lines?
I have a dodge grand caravan se 09 i spend 40 bucks to fill the whole tank, it runs for 2.99 a gallon where i live, and im wondering can it work for my 04 chevy malibu? it has 138k miles.
America had it right the 1st time those old horseless carriages ran on peanut oil.im totally 100% pro e85 in parts of the Midwest cornahol has been used in old work trucks for years its nothing new.lets create jobs for Americans and tell the billionaire sheiks where they can shove there petroleum.
Ethanol does burn more efficient, but has less energy in it than gasoline. So if the vehicle isn't working right you will get greater losses in MPG's.
The vehicle has to change fuel mixture, timing, and any sensor that effects adjustments or prevents the system going into closed loop operation will prevent the efficient running of the engine.
I own a 1992 Ford Probe GL 5 speed with a 2.2L engine (mazda). From my understanding...my car should run perfectly fine on E85, my only problem would be that would my ecu in the car be able to control the amount of fuel being consumed. I am just hoping that my car timing wont be out of wack.
i totally agree ,we can double the agricultural areas ,increase yields ,use better feedstocks (sweet sorghum yields 4 times more ethanol /acre than corn and grows in dryer ,poorer soils),reduce areas devoted to tobacco and so on
My grandfather ran his Packard Clipper car on sugar-cane Ethanol in Cuba during WWII fuel shortages. Those old 40's cars ran better on Ethanol than the dirty gasoline that was being made at the time.
you will get it soon ,they say several sugarcane mills in Queensland are building ethanol refineries as well, just like in Brazil, where ,by the way, all gas(petrol) is mixed with 25% ethanol(alcohol).Well that saves that country 25% of gas consumption right there ,no wonder they became oil exporters!
It is true.. I have been running E85 in my truck now F150 for the last 2 years or more... the truck is NOT made for it. I was told by FORD and their SERVICE centers it would not even run.. But guess what... IT DOES!! and no damage what so ever to the truck in 2 years. This video is the TRUTH that the gas companies dont want you to know.. and they pay off the car makers to LIE to you and tell you it wont run.. But dont belive me.. Give it a try in your car..
Hey pretty cool I am going to look into this for my car. Do you guys still have the Tahoe?? If you want to sell it I would be interested in purchasing it. seriously I really like that truck and would be interested in purchasing it.
I have a 1995 Chevy Corsica 2.2 and been using E85 for over 9 months now with no ill effects. I have replaced my fuel filter, cleaned the injectors, changed oil and oil filter and the car runs great. The main thing is if your car is older E85 will clean your gas tank and fuel lines so keeping an eye on your filters will help. As far as rubber being used in gaskets or seals they have been replaced back in the mid 80's by car manufactures.
Yes, also sugar beets and kelp. Far better than corn. Kelp grows 1 1/2 feet per day. It cleans and cools the oceans. It can be grown without using any farm ground and is good for the environment.
This will save us from global warming. I don't know why beach front real estate is still so expensive. Don't these people know they will be flooded soon?
I dont understand why people think it is going to hurt the farming industry! most farms dont even use the majority of their fields... It will create more jobs and boost the farming industry!!!
"I dont understand why people think it is going to hurt the farming industry! most farms dont even use the majority of their fields... It will create more jobs and boost the farming industry!"
Not only that, but if we were really worried about needing more land for ethanol crops we could simply ban tobacco--the most useless crop ever made--and then have more land than we could ever use. Of course the downside would be lower health care costs...oh...wait....
You have made the best comment I read. I'd add: in a single acre with suggar cane we get 3,7 times more ethanol than the same area with corn and, look, here in Brazil we can get even two crops of corn per year. 89 % of ALL Brazilian vehicles runs with 100% ethanol since the 70es. The rest goes with with a mixture of 75% gasoline and 25% ethanol because those cars were projected only for gasoline...
we need to know the truth. thanks for sharing it. ethanol can be made with waste products, not just corn. it doesn't wreck engines or fuel lines. it does wreck oil company profits.
There is an anti E85 movement out there trying to frighten people that we will run out of food turning corn into ethanol. Folks, corn is just the beginning to get mainstream America familiar with ethanol. Cellulosic ethanol once perfected, will be able to make ethanol out of waste plant matter and or discarded building materials leaving America with plenty of corn. New technologies take time to develop, don't start crying wolf now.
we wont run out of food, you are right, but, food will get even higher because farmers make more money per acre to grow corn than other staples. Especially if you live near an ethanol plant, you can deliver it for processing on your own saving on the cost of shipping. Missouri is planting corn everywhere this year...
Here in Brazil, we are using 100% ethanol cars, since 1979.All in large scale and total sucess.Since 1984, we pump ethanol by pipeline by hundreds of miles. The price of ethanol here, is about the half of oil in world market.
Thanks for telling the truth. Big oil doesn't want ethanol, because it's half the price of gas. They'd rather sell gas at $8 a gallon than $2 a gallon ethanol.
I've had many of these trucks, 97 tahoe and pickup with a 5.7, I've had the fuel pumps out of them and the whole top end... Gasoline is by far by the looks worse on it... Everything turns yellow, brittle and nasty.
I'm probably going to get the KIT to put on mine if I can brew my own E85 since no one around my part of florida sells it.
Beleive me you can run your vehicle on more than just E10. I work at an ethanol plant and my local gas station sells E10, 20, 30 and E85. I have ran E20 and E30 and get slightly better fuel mileage with my '97 Jeep. Better yet I pay 10-20 cents less a gallon.
Wrong. Ethanol does not effect rubber lines. That is a myth. People all the time mistaken the nasty caracteristics of methanol with ethanol. Ethanol and gasoline have about the same corrosive potential. So any rubber is just fine. Ethanol may rust steel due to water absorbtion. The automakers started using rust free components in the fuel systems starting in the early 80s. That is why the Tahoe in this video was able to tolerate E85 with NO ill affects.
Around 1980 and newer. Some vehicles like Mercedes start changing in the late 70s and some took until the early eightys. They started make gas tanks, fuel lines and fuel system components out of plastics, composites and other rust free materials. I have a 1979 Firebird Formula. One year of E85 use and no leaks yet. I did have to make sure that all of the cork gaskets and seals were replaced. Cork can dry out from the ethanol.
Please remember that it is not ethanol or E85that can casue harm, it's water that causes the corrosion. There is no definitive date as to when corrosion resistant parts were being used. It began in the early 80s. So we always say 85 or newer is safe. Remember that it takes years for a steel tank to rust out. Many out there think that ethanol will eat through it in a week. It's moonshine - not sulfuric acid.
You are right. I am an Ethanol transport truck driver. Can tell the same. My 1996 Audi A4 has over 340 000 kms. I did over 150 000 kms diving on Ethanol without any problem. Just fill it up with gasoline every 10-15 000 kms to clean (lubricate) a tank and lines. Ethanol means no money for terrorists and no war for oil.
E85 will not harm your fuel lines. I own a 1993 pontiac grand am with the 3.3 v6. The fuel lines on the grand am are a hard plastic i converted this car over 3 years ago never did have anything go wrong. With rubber parts in the fuel system. So people that think it will harm there car thay are full of BS.
I heard that all Ford vehicles made during and after the time that Henry Ford invited G.W. Carver to work at his plant to better improve alternative fuel, are designed to run on ethanol.
